Authpoint solved the problem, of being able to secure two-factor authentication without needing to use an internal LDAP servThe prncpal business need was to migrate users from standard authentication based on lognames and passwords stored on the firewall, to one with that offered greater security. By corporate policy, there was no option to delegate authentication to an internal LDAP server or Azure AD services.Authpoint solved the problem, of being able to provide the security of two-factor authentication without necessarily having to use an internal LDAP server or Azure AD.Ease of use and configuration are a plus of the product, minimal learning time for those who must then manage the service.
  • Ease of implementation
  • App compatibility even on older smartphones
  • Used with watchguard firewalls, it would be useful to have a multiple user creation system.
  • With some phone carriers, there is some latency, between logging in and the appearance of push confirmation on the app.
very suitable in all those situations for companies that do not want to use Azure AD, or manage SSLVPN user authentication on an internal AD. (An expired password would make access to corporate resources difficult).

With the increase in ransomware attacks on US based healthcare facilities, it is becoming harder and harder to protect patient data, and even get insurance without some form of multi-factor authentication protect. We selected Authpoint for our enterprise due to our familiarity with the Watchguard Firebox products, and Authpoint integrated seamlessly.
  • It protects our corporate VPN
  • It protects our Windows environment
  • It integrated using smartphones extremely easily
  • Be sure to count all users for licensing, even ones that may be exempt from your security initiative.
Authpoint is easy to integrate with an existing active directory infrastructure. I had it operational after the initial sales call in about an hour. The key to a successful implementation with staff is communication in advance of the rollout.

Multifactor Authentication for remote users
  • Fast, easy to use.
  • Watchguard is highly respected and credible with cyber insurers
  • Flexible configurations
  • Secure
  • Installation was a difficult because we have another Watchguard appliance (Firebox) and it conflicted with account credentials.
  • Help and support was lacking. We were assigned someone in Europe that was not online when we were. Also reaching WatchGuard was difficult. Companies should not insulate themselves from customers.
  • A bit expensive.
Cyber insurers are demanding MFA and AuthPoint is a robust enterprise type application that passes muster. Since many workers are opting for remote work, this is an ideal application to fulfill security requirements. Watchguard should, however make installation easier to cater to small business. Economics would suggest much higher revenues from this source because of higher volume of sales.

I use WatchGuard AuthPoint as MFA for my VPN, it is more secure than using a simple password. All my colleagues who use VPN, now need to use a authpoint to securely connect to our environment. In the next day we will implement authpoint portal to share resource in a web browser. It is easy to manage and configure, we use it with our domain server and of course with domain users.
  • Securely connect to our environment
  • Easy for use
  • The cost: better if there are no extra cost, included in WatchGuard
- MFA is an advantage
- portal is very useful
- I prefer that price of WatchGuard includes AuthPoint

We have deployed AuthPoint to protect our business on several vectors. Currently we're using the system to protect laptops and desktops that are deployed in the field, sales locations, work from home, and our offices. The implementation will include protecting logins to our servers, a Remote Desktop Web portal, and Office 365. Having AD in an Azure Hybrid environment does allow us monitor and control logins, but the AuthPoint system allows us to further protect user logins from a compromised password.
  • The tokens are easy to deploy
  • Transferring tokens is a quick and intuitive process.
  • The system provides several fail safes for a lost token.
  • The AD synchronization feature is not in an intuitive place in the portal
  • There can be a delay in authentication if the PC hasn't been rebooted recently
  • The hardware token sold by WatchGuard are on the large side.
Small businesses that are leveraging cloud technology would see a great benefit in AuthPoint. Cloud based systems allow these businesses access to a more enterprise authentication, authorization, and accounting system, but also leaves that system vulnerable to cloud based logon attempts. Often these businesses do not employ full time IT staff or IT security staff and may lead to unsecured systems. AuthPoint can be utilized to prevent unauthorized access to cloud logins and protect local computer systems with a device most employees already carry.

The commercial problem that Watchguard Authpoint addresses are diverse, being among them, that it serves as a two-factor authentication token when users manage the passwords of their accounts; as well as it is useful as a security layer, for the VPN connections of the company's collaborators, since it generates a notification after the user establishes a VPN communication, where he must approve or deny said connection, by means of a received reception on his cell phone, in order to guarantee that the user who is in need of communication is the same one who appeared in the notification produced by the token.
  • Double Factor Authentication
  • Key or password generator token
  • I have no complaints with this product
  • I am more than satisfied with what I can do with this magnificent tool
WatchGuard Authpoint is suitable for any scenario, either as a key token generator to access systems or as a two-factor authentication token for VPN connections.

We use WatchGuard AuthPoint to gain access to our Network resources remotely. This provides an additional layer of security for our Administrators.

Due to the increase in ransomware attacks, our Administrators can rest easy knowing that the likelihood of false actors gaining access to our resources is slim to none.
  • Length of Passcode timeout.
  • Ease of installation.
  • User-friendly interface.
  • Sense of security.
  • Ability to save IP Address.
Well suited for users that need access to secure network files remotely. Ensures that only individuals with the proper credentials can gain access.

Users that have other means (Microsoft Products) to access same network files can circumvent the need for WatchGuard AuthPoint. Especially if using the built-in Microsoft Authentication. (SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive)

Authpoint is easy to set up and configure, very knowledgeable forum to help you set it up. All is managed through the cloud which is ideal for managing multiple companies.
It's a perfect solution for a lot of companies that don't have MFA on their VPNs, which is probably the most critical thing to have it on. Implementing this allows us to make sure our network is more secure from those remote locations.
  • Security
  • Easy Setup
  • Client ease-of-use
  • Would be nice to use another app for the 2fa
Some scenarios based on my experience where Watchguard AuthPoint is well suit would be remote working. If someone have a full domain with a file server it can be really beneficial to use AuthPoint as it adds an extra level of security for any company. The push to notifications make it a lot easier on the user side of things too.

We use WatchGuard AuthPoint with IKEv2 VPN. Our field staffs handle lots of sensitive/personal data on public WIFI. We want to ensure that staff have a very secure connection and that our data are protected. AuthPoint has a great MFA feature, and it works well.

We use AuthPoint for local machine login MFA and MFA for VPN to our corporate network. This helps with security/compliance. Also, it protects our devices that are used in the field in case they're lost or stolen. We also deploy to other organizations for security for their VPNs for remote desktop access and file access.
  • MFA for VPN
  • Geofencing
  • Desktop logins.
  • SMS support
Well suited for most applications. Not sure if it integrates well with 365 or Google Workspace.

A reliable and cost efficient 2 factor authentication for our customers. Mainly used for MFA VPN access for authenticated users to work remote. Before using WatchGuard AuthPoint, we did not have a good solution for all our customers in using MFA to connect to a VPN. This was preventing us from allowing VPN access to medical users.
  • user friendly
  • clean interface
  • fast response time
  • Integration with the VPN can sometimes word itself in a confusing manor
  • Allow the WatchGuard VPN to have a simple "Push" button instead of making users type a 1 or 0, and then cause the push to appear on the device
  • Make the push more apparent/adjust the default notification
AuthPoint is a great solution for MFA for VPN. The simplicity of the management console and tokens compared to other MFA applications is night and day. You simply set it up and let it go. If someone loses a phone, it takes you two clicks to deactivate and create a new one for their new device.

The product is really good and versatile
  • DNS filtering
  • Firewall AV
  • Content Welcome
  • Options to move from local managed to cloud managed, without losing config
  • See proper traffic views and logs without dimension server
  • The GUI can be better
It uses open VPN, so it means you won't need SSL VPN licensing like Cisco. The downside is also the same regarding the VPN that it can be finicky sometimes

We have been using WatchGuard Firewall products for many years in our organization. When the Covid-19 pandemic happened, we needed a way to allow employees to work from home and authenticate securely to our company network. We utilized WatchGuard AuthPoint as a way to accomplish this. AuthPoint's ability to integrate with our domain and provide seamless multifactor authentication has been a life saver for our IT staff and employees.
  • Easy to use mobile phone applications for approving access.
  • Seamless integration with on-premise domains and users.
  • Cloud management that is always available.
  • Documentation could be improved.
  • Ability to use SMS for authorization codes could be helpful.
  • Better way to transfer tokens to new devices.
WatchGuard AuthPoint integrates easily with other WatchGuard products. If you are already using WatchGuard Firewalls or WatchGuard Cloud, this service will be seamless to add. If you are not using other WatchGuard products, I would look for another solution for multifactor authentication.

We use WatchGuard AuthPoint for multifactor authentication (MFA) of VPN service. It has been implemented at several of our customers, and having particularly liked it, we decided to use it internally as well to ensure the security of our remotely connected employees
  • Multi factor authentication
  • Push notification
  • OTP generation
  • Better compatiblity with other VPN clients (es. OpenVPN) for alla MFA types, not only with push notifications
WatchGuard AuthPoint is ideal for implementing MFA in VPNs. In addition to this, it can be successfully used for any other service that requires MFA, on a par with the many authenticators on the market

Me and my team use WatchGuard AuthPoint every day and its a vital part of our identity protection and overall cybersecurity system. AuthPoint is very easy to use and we've integrated it with all of our systems - O365, Active Directory, several cloud applications, and all of our remote access applications including our VPN. We've been impressed with the reliability of AuthPoint and we also like how easy it is to use and to teach others to use. In addition to using it internally, we've also deployed AuthPoint for many of our clients and they are very happy with the ease of use, affordability, and reliability. I highly recommend WatchGuard AuthPoint to anyone looking for an identity protection solution, and anyone looking for a reliable, easy-to-use and affordable MFA solution.
  • Very reliable
  • Easy to use
  • Easy to integrate to any platform
  • Affordable
  • Would love an integrated password manager
  • Would love a password vault that can be shared based on team roles
AuthPoint is a great fit for anyone looking for a reliable, easy to use and affordable MFA solution to improve their identity security and overall cybersecurity posture. AuthPoint is great for Active Directory integration, great for Office 365 integration and great with any SAML based integration application. AuthPoint has over 150 application integrations already published, and beyond those it can integrate with pretty much any SAML based app.

We use WatchGuard AuthPoint to secure the VPN connection of every user. This is a big help to our company in reducing the risk of hacking our system or network. One of the significant factors that MFA uses us with was to super secure the VPN or cloud services for every WFh user.
  • A secure connection using VPN or cloud services
  • Provide extra security to our networks
  • it has MFA before you login and connection to our network
  • additional time for MFA code
  • Monitoring tools or policy that we can connect to Watchguard dimension
Based on our experience using WatchGuard Authpoint, it will secure your connection using VPN, or cloud services. It provides extra security to your network and will give you protection where ever you are. This feature in WatchGuard can guarantee you are secure and safe while working outside your company.

We use it to authenticate users when logging into their Windows computers. Also use it to login to Watchguard VPN and Websites. It is used to provide a higher level of security and also for compliance requirements. We also resell this as a MFA solution for our customers, and we configure and manage our customers deployments of Authpoint.
  • Use of Smartphones for the token
  • Use of third party tokens
  • ease of use
  • Integrate with IKEv2 and LDAP
WatchGuard Authpoint is well suited with integration with Windows, SSO, securing Watchguard SSL VPN, and ensuring compliance with insurance requirements. It will work with Watchguard IKEv2 VPN but not when there is a need to authenticate with Radius server.

In administration of court systems in Ohio, it has become necessary to implement MFA in our environment in order to maintain Cyber insurance. AuthPoint has allowed this to accomplish this using our existing WatchGuard Infrastructure. It allows the flexibility of using either Authenticator Phone Apps or Key Fobs in a Central management location.
  • Centralized Management - Important for far flung agencies with different groups
  • East Intergration
  • Flexibility with MFA options
  • First time setup is complex - lacking documentation
  • Text message as a MFA option would be nice
  • Navigating between agencies in cloud management can be clunky
Workers, especially well for MFA requirement on SSL VPN setups. There is no option to simply reset a password for a user, you have to send a password reset link to the user. This is good and bad. It's good if you have a competent user as you can just click a button and they do the rest. Bad if you have users that are less that knowledgeable and have trouble with password requirements.

WatchGuard AuthPoint is used to provide MFA for our VPNs and those at our clients.
  • The client software and VPN creation scripts are easy to deploy
  • Tight integration with Watchguard Fireboxes
  • Stable and reliable
  • Initial setup of Authpoint itself could be a bit simpler
  • Although rarely required, it would be good to have a way to transfer Authpoint user accounts from one client account to another
Due to the setup steps, it is good for organisations with >5 users. The time cost of implementation may not suit smaller organisations.

We've implemented AuthPoint for VPN and Office 365 security. It did require a support call to set up (documentation could be improved) but the call was relatively short and we were up and running in less than an hour. The system works very well, and even our most tech inept users were able to follow the simple steps to set up the app on their phones. We know it's working well because we've had several users report AuthPoint prompts when they're not attempting to connect - meaning a bad actor is trying but they're being stopped. It's a great solution, very happy with our choice.
  • security
  • ease of use
  • flexibility
  • documentation
Anyone using VPN and/or Office 365 should be using this to secure their connections. Sorry I can't add more, but short and simple is all that's needed here.

We use WatchGuard AuthPoint to provide 2 factor authentication for our VPN users. We currently use IKEv2 VPN offered through our WatchGuard firewall. We wanted to provide an extra layer of security for any internal user looking to access our network remotely.
  • 2 Factor Authentication
  • Multiple options to approve access.
  • Available mobile apps so you don't need to purchase extra equipment.
  • I see no issues. It was easy to set up and works great.
  • All users that I have set up said this was really easy.

We have about 25 users who need remote access from home. Adding AuthPoint to our environment added an extra layer of security that we're extremely happy with. It is very easy to set up and easy to use.

I use the authpoint solution to access workstations, access VPN services, and access some internal web applications. The solution is very user-friendly to deploy and use. All the configuration is done in the Cloud portal. I have about 50 users, and all these users need the authpoint solution to authenticate to use Windows Logon, VPN access by RADIUS and we have integrated some web portals with SAML to authenticate with authpoint. In the last year, the solution gained several security components, the authpoint risk framework allows to specify network location to allow or block access in some networks with or without MFA, Geolocation to allow or block access from countries, and time to allow access without MFA in specific hours.
  • Windows Logon MFA for Windows.
  • SAML Integration.
  • Policy Creation.
  • Password management.
  • More tools in risk framework like multiple options.
  • User-friendly tokenless.
We use the solution to secure the windows logon process in all workstations, to secure the access to VPN service from RADIUS authentication, and to secure some internal web portals by SAML integration. It's a good improvement to have a user-friendly tokenless solution because some users dislike using a token.

WatchGuard AuthPoint allows us and the clients we serve to easily add a second layer of protection on our remote access to internal company resources. It is used by all users at each company we have set up and it makes the ever-present need for additional security simple to manage for our internal IT staff and easy to use for end-users.
  • Integration with WatchGuard Firewalls
  • Transparent MFA confirmation Prompts
  • Secure Login for VPN
  • Easy to manage for Multiple Customers
  • Simple\Quick End User Setup
  • Improved Documentation, some are bit difficult to follow
  • Remove the need for Java for Gateway software
  • Delay or schedule option for User Activation email
WatchGuard AuthPoint works best when already using a WatchGuard Firewall. With the recent native integration with AuthPoint being built into the Firewall, VPN and Firewall management connections can be easily secured with MFA without much hassle. And since you already have the licensing you can secure desktops and/or servers with MFA as well. Without a WatchGuard firewall, AuthPoint can still be used as it is priced very competitively but it is less of automatic choice and should be evaluated against its competitors for usability and features that are required.

WatchGuard AuthPoint is a simple product that allows the user to access from remote to their documents and resources in the office. WatchGuard AuthPoint is more secure and easy to use. It is a Multifactor Authenticator and it can be implemented with a smartphone or hardware token so if an office worker has only a personal phone and he does not know what to use to install an AuthPoint software token, you can decide to provide it to him a hardware token.
  • Integration with Watchguard Firebox for SSL VPN access
  • Integration with SAML
  • Itegration with LDAP Server / Radius
  • Integration with SAML is not easy to implement
WatchGuard AuthPoint is well suited particularly with SSL VPN access because often the employees have password not secure or written near the device and so everyone that find credentials could access to the company. With WatchGuard AuthPoint you can increase remote access security exponentially.
