We use Mailchimp for internal updates as well as newsletters and initiatives directed at our external member base as well. It helps us improve our messaging with A/B testing as well as maximize our reach. Built-in integration also allows us to plan ahead for use with other systems such as Zoho.
  • Track metrics with open/close rates and clicks
  • Customization is easy with templates
Cons
  • Switch from Audience back to Lists
  • Allow more seamless HTML/WYSIWYG integration
Mailchimp is suited for most small businesses looking to send and track emails to their audience. [There are] Flexible options for both a skilled designer and a novice using templates.

We create monthly newsletters on behalf of our marketing client. It is used by the Sales and Marketing department, not the entire company. It's a cost-effective way to communicate with both commercial and residential customers for the company. It was important to have an easy-to-use tool so in-house staff could be trained to use it in a short amount of time on an as needed basis.
  • Embedding video is a simple drag and drop
  • Adding a variety of layout blocks is simple
  • Customizing templates for company branding
Cons
  • Would love to have access to the html code
  • Don't have any other issues
If you are looking to have a simple, easy to learn tool for email marketing, Mailchimp is a good option. If you are looking to have a lot of control over the HTML of the email or any kind of marketing automation for triggered campaigns, it is less ideal. Content is easy to import and edit in the tool.

We use Mailchimp to add and manage our contacts and to send formatted newsletters for our customers to stay up to date on the new features that have been released. We also use it to send out campaigns.
  • Manage contacts
  • Quickly upload new contacts
  • Has lots of templates that can be used
Cons
  • Nothing to dislike at this time
Mailchimp is extremely user friendly and is easy to learn and navigate. It is great for tracking and seeing the open rates of emails.

Mailchimp is used to communicate with our educational contacts to inform them on changes and updates in the program they've signed up for.
  • Clean layout
  • User Friendly
Cons
  • Would like a bit more flexibility/features in free accounts
Mailchimp is a great free service. I would absolutely recommend it if you are starting out with newsletters or don't have a budget. It provides great analytics and is super easy to use. It's organized and user friendly.

We use Mailchimp for both internal and external email communications. Internally, we use it to share company news, surveys, in-house career opportunities, and training information. Externally, Mailchimp is one of our primary means of communicating with our customers. It has worked well to send targeted emails to subsets within our customer base.
  • Easy to use platform with drag and drop blocks that make content creation simple.
  • Tools for email automation, data segmentation and personalization.
  • Many integrations with CRMs available.
Cons
  • Sometimes it would be nice to edit code for certain sections (like email preview text) where it isn't possible.
  • The email reports are nice but there is room for improvement.
  • Organizing contacts can sometimes be tedious.
Mailchimp handles the organization of customer contacts and their segmentation well. It's relatively easy for novice users to create and send bulk emails without much technical knowledge. There are many options available to design and build templates and emails. Mailchimp has helped us refine and improve our email marketing campaigns for customers and employees.
