Before Monday.com, the company used scattered checklists and messaging channels to track deadlines, task completion, and communicate about roadblocks on projects. We used trackers and reports across dozens of platforms and spent hours each week reconciling them and migrating details from one place to another. We used monday.com to store, track, and communicate about data of all kinds across the company - everything from customer contact information to sales data to product delivery timelines and team onboarding.
  • Task management
  • Easy team communication about projects
  • Tracking multifaceted projects
Cons
  • permissions and sharing can be confusing
  • formula columns are limited
Monday.com is a great platform for managing details on multi-faced and/or collaborative projects - especially those with lots of moving pieces. It's great for tracking processes across several stages and/or contributors. For many, there is often a bit of learning curve with implementing the most valuable features so I recommend adopting the platform when you have the bandwidth for learning it or can work with someone who knows the platform well. Once established, Monday.com can simplify workflows and allow teams to spend more time on their tasks & projects instead of having multiple systems & platforms consuming bandwidth.

It is being used across the entire organization to keep up with projects and calendars and disseminate information. It addresses the problem of using several platforms to enter information by consolidating everything into one platform.
  • Entries are very easy
  • Platform is intuitive
Cons
  • Difficult to set up dashboards. It seems as if all information is not available
  • Defaults to "on leave" in calendar
  • Boards get very lengthy making it difficult to find information
We are still in the learning curve for monday.com so I am hoping it will be easier to do some of the reports and widgets as we learn. Without superusers in our organization, I am not sure we cold have figured out all of the functions on our own.

We use monday.com to track projects and tasks in our expansion. There are many teams and many projects happening all at once and it allows everyone the opportunity to collaborate and track what is being worked on. If any teams are stuck we can see exactly where they are stuck and jump in and help in any way possible.
  • Transparency
  • Effective project management
  • Customizable boards allow teams to tailor them to their needs
Cons
  • It is difficult to program a percentage based status indicator
  • The UI is clean but convoluted in some areas
  • There is a large learning curve in using the software
For a larger company, monday.com is a great, feature-rich software to use. It helps us manage many concurrent projects by many teams. The software can be very expensive for smaller organizations and there is a steep learning curve when it comes to utilizing it effectively. I would recommend it for multi-project teams but for smaller organizations, it becomes difficult to justify its use.

Great tool to consider for your SME organization

Used by several departments for project management and status tracking.
  • Flexibility to accommodate different scenarios and needs.
  • Ability to collaborate with external users.
  • Ability to automate repetitive tasks and actions.
  • Ability to create forms to allow external input into your boards.
Cons
  • Steeper than average learning curve.
  • Requires a change-driver to drive implementation and learning.
  • Not the most suited when dealing with large data sets.
It is well suited to scenarios that are dynamic and have frequent status changes and/or external collaborators. The different board views provides flexibility to cater to different preferences in how information and statuses are displayed.

It is not suited towards use cases that involve large data sets with frequent filtering and computation of such data sets.

Design department transformed by the ease of use.

We use monday.com to coordinate our design department. Our business is custom manufacturing. The sales and project managers use monday.com to request designs from our design team. The interface is extremely powerful and simple to use. As soon as we implemented it all coordination issues disappeared. It has the lowest learning curve of all our software. We primarily use it via a browser, but the apps are also good.
  • Very intuitive interface.
  • First in first out management is simple to achieve.
  • Historical record of all customer changes.
Cons
  • Integration with SAI Flexisign
  • Integration with Office 365 suite of software.
Team coordination. Remote workers. Dynamic project management for fast turn around.
