Our entire company uses Dayforce for WFM and Benefits. As aN HR rep I use all of the functionality of Dayforce. We enjoy having employees using it for WFM and benefits because it lets them go in and handle their own time and elections. This has fixed the problems of employees being able to see the elections they have and their time cards before they are paid. We also use the Self-Service module and enjoy letting the employees have access to all their own things.
  • Training - during implementing our on site training was amazing and they did a great job to show us how to use the products.
  • Insights Conference
  • Payroll - they have simplified our process
  • Implementation - we were sent to a third-party and we have had to clean up a lot of things that they did incorrectly.
I do like that Ceridian is always updating the technology within Dayforce to keep up with the changing of technology.

Dayforce is primarily used for payroll, benefits administration and workforce management. It has been useful in getting information from employees working at different sites in less time. We have been able to reduce the use of paper by using Dayforce. It has also helped us conduct audits and synthesize our processes across departments. Employees are happy as they have better connections with HR.
  • Report writing and ability to generate reports.
  • Ability to use additional employee properties to create additional fields.
  • Timekeeping
  • Payroll earning and deduction reports are very useful
  • During position change, the schedules have to be adjusted manually.
  • During system upgrades, the workflows break and need to be tested again.
  • Silverlight issues while using Dayforce with Macbook and Apple products.
Dayforce's report writing tool is very helpful in obtaining organization data. The ability to link different fields and create custom topics is very helpful while analyzing interdepartmental properties. We are able to generate reports on employee roles, forms, location, position, ethnicity etc. This has helped us create HR metrics for headcount, termination, retention to create HR strategy.

We use Ceridian Dayforce in our US locations. We use it for managing payroll, time and attendance, 401k. It solves a lot of issues we were having with our old provider involving shift premiums and labor allocation percentages.
  • Easy payroll entry to GL entry
  • Quick support resolution - The pod system makes it so much easier to have a back-and-forth conversation and going back to the same people you've worked with before is very comforting.
  • We use a BI reporting software and it isn't easy/possible to get data out of Ceridian for use by the BI service.
Based on cost, it is well suited for medium to medium/large companies. Smaller companies would struggle to get a good ROI from Ceridian. A fully salaried workforce might also not require Ceridian's shift and time systems and would work with something simpler.

Ceridian Dayforce is being used by HR/Payroll, employees, supervisors, and managers. We used to have several different systems for recruiting, performance, payroll, and time and attendance. Dayforce has enabled us to have everything in one platform. It has improved employee and manager engagement as well.
  • Customer Support - quick to respond and resolve issues
  • Always upgrading and improving the system - they really listen to what their customers want.
  • Connecting Dayforce users so we can get together and discuss ideas and issues.
  • Mobile App - need to add Careers so employees can apply for internal openings.
  • Time & Attendance - need a feature to allow payroll to filter employyees’ timesheets by manager.
  • Reporting - SQL needs to be made simpler & easier to use.
Ceridian Dayforce is a well-priced all in one system. It’s user-friendly and they are always making improvements.

Ceridian Dayforce is being used across all departments. All major modules support business processes. We use the recruiting module to hire candidates that are brought into Dayforce as applicants. We use onboarding to introduce employees to our organization and prepare them to start their first day. The talent team utilizes performance and succession to move employees upward through the organization. WFM utilized the timesheet to track hours for our non-exempt population. Payroll and HR work hand-in-hand to ensure accuracy of employee record processing along with the benefits module to ensure employees are properly deducted for the benefits that they selected.
  • Reporting - Dayforce provides over 300 hundred canned reports which is very helpful in building a reporting library.
  • Time Keeping - Timesheets accurately reflect the hours worked by employees down to the minute.
  • Payroll - Payroll process is helped by the ability to calc the payroll in advance to search for any errors to correct, rather than having to wait for the actual payroll run.
  • Customer Support needs to be quicker to respond, and respond more accurately. Need more attention to detail to thoroughly review screenshots and case detail provided.
Integrated solution between all modules so that you do not have separate systems that do not talk to one another which would require downloading and uploading of data manually in order for all areas to work together.

Dayforce is used throughout our entire organization, including our associates in the United Kingdom.
  • Dayforce offers HR, Recruiting, Benefits, Payroll, and Workforce Management in a single application. Our associates have mobile technology which enables them to see their schedules, review their timecards or check benefit information 24 hours a day.
  • Our associates have access to real time information 24 hours a day. They are able to see how much PTO time is available and request time away from work through mobile technology.
  • The new 'Timecards' needs improvement. It is difficult to access the timecard totals (previously 'View Pay' in My Timecards) without having to drag the side bar down. It is not efficient.
  • The HTML screens are slow and inefficient. We are still using Silverlight when possible.
Dayforce is very intuitive and the training through MyPath made our transition very easy for our associates. The payroll module (sitll using MyPay due to system response in Payroll) is definitely a '10' in my book! I think WFM still needs improvements. Our supervisors and managers have found it not as easy to use or read as Kronos.

Dayforce is used throughout the organization. for both hourly and salaried employees. The system combines major people functions in one platform, eliminating multiple system logins.
  • Payroll
  • Time and attendance
  • HR
  • Reporting function is difficult and sometimes requires advanced SQL knowledge
  • Onboarding system needs to evolve
Dayforce is a good solution for growing midsize companies with medium to high complexity.

[Ceridian Dayforce is] Used by all employees in different roles.
  • Users love the mobile app
  • Benefits enrollment has been easy to set up and works well
  • Work flows are easy to control
  • Speed of initial loading of website - drives busy users crazy waiting, they are used to websites loading quickly and they do not understand why web components must be downloaded every time.
  • Recruiting is clunky and forces managers to go get their own resumes. At our company the recruiters are expected to send a manager only the ones the manager needs to deal with.
  • The user interface is not intuitive for non-computer users. Sometimes the data entry field does not show up until you mouse over it, this causes some users to wait or give up seeing that there is no place to enter their data. It is not obvious to some users that a plus sign means they should click that to add information. Drop down menus do not show until the field is clicked on, leaving some users confused. It is not obvious to users that a change in address is really adding a new address; they try to edit the current one, which we have locked out but it confuses them even though the page has instructions - if they would only read them.
  • No significant control over report formatting, pulling it into Excel to adjust the format before sending it to managers negates much of the benefits from scheduling etc. What is worse is that Ceridian had this 20 years ago, but now it is lost.
  • Sometimes it seems like Ceridian makes things hard just so they can sell you professional services. Stuff promised during implementation should not end up being billed extra for. Fixes to compliance issues should not be charged to one employer when everyone else will benefit from the improvement - how many times does Ceridian charge for the same fix? Which should have been provided in the first place. Charging for on-line training - untrained administrators just under use the product lowering the customer ROI and make it more likely they will be unhappy and look for other HCM solutions. You would think data mapping from previous Ceridian products would not have to be built from scratch every time.
  • Ah Ha portal - where good ideas go to die. When the answer already exists - tell the user how to do it rather than having them call support one at a time. When it is being adopted how about a time frame rather than making users guess if they should implement a work around or wait for the update. And really stop telling people that attendance tracking is the same as FMLA tracking/management.
Better for larger companies, smaller companies may do better with a less complex system. Better for companies with internal programming support for XML and SQL. Better for companies who do things the way Dayforce expecte them to be done, example annual reviews.

We are a global organization who now has the capability to track all of our global employees, whether we pay them through Dayforce or not. It’s also been a one-stop shop for us as it relates to performance, recruiting, and onboarding; so it makes it extremely convenient for employees and managers, in addition to all the admins that we have.
  • Self service
  • Professional Services
  • Ability to handle global
  • Ease of employee use
  • Behind the scenes can be complicated as it relates to certain areas
  • For the most part support has been great, but you occasionally get the person who doesn’t really know anything
  • Finding all the bugs that implementation missed
Very well-suited for a global workforce, even if you can’t run payroll for that country

Ceridian Dayforce is being developed and used within our business and sister companies to streamline, clarify, and improve the employee experience by consolidating all HR-related content into one platform, including onboarding, time and attendance, organization management, time and attendance, performance management, compensation, reporting payroll, etc. While it is currently used by our HR team, the future goal is to increase self-service across the company and encourage use across the entire organization.
  • Reporting - the reporting module is very user-friendly and allows users to create custom reports to meet specific needs.
  • Navigation - the database is organized in a way that is easy to navigate and user-friendly! I love how the site is clean and aesthetically pleasing.
  • One-stop shop - it's a great to use HRIS that encompasses so much HR-related content. New additions with the system have tremendous power to positively enhance the employee experience!
  • People functionality - certain data fields are delimited when another is changed (manager field delimits when a work assignment is modified). The user has to manually adjust that if a workflow is not being used.
  • Reporting functionality - the system doesn't have the capacity to pull data for a group of people that are unrelated according to filters - you can't run a report for a group of people unless they have a shared characteristic that is stored within Dayforce.
I think Dayforce is a great tool for work environments and cultures that seek to improve the HR and employee experience. After working with several Human Resource Information Systems, Dayforce is the most user-friendly platform I have worked with and continuously increases its functionality and capacity to enhance the work experience. There is a lot of potential to be unlocked with the various modules that are offered.

We currently use Ceridian DayForce for Payroll and Human Resources.
  • We process weekly, biweekly and semi monthly payrolls.
  • We use Benefits for our employees' new hire benefits enrollment.
  • Our employees use Open Enrollment to elect their yearly benefit elections.
  • When terminating benefits you can't terminate Life and AD&D unless they have a beneficiary listed. They are now terminated - it doesn't matter. This function needs to be addressed.
The main reason we decided to go with Ceridian was their ability to calculate health and welfare for our employees.

Ceridian Dayforce is being used across the organization - we have implemented several modules including Payroll, Comp, Benefits, Recruiting, etc. We will be rolling out further modules in the near future including on-boarding and performance management. We have been using Ceridian Dayforce for about 4 years. It has helped us in achieving uniform processes across the company.
  • Payroll - very comprehensive and able to customize
  • Employee Self Service - very intuitive and easy to use for all generations of users
  • Recruiting module is also intuitive for supervisors to use.
  • Customer Service - issues cannot be addressed immediately and require putting in a service ticket that can take quite some time to get dealt with.
  • Customization - it seems most customizations are labor intensive and incur additional costs - very difficult to do simple customizations from the user's end without paying extra.
  • Language barriers - as a non-technical professional, I often feel when I am assigned a representative to assist with a problem we are not able to properly communicate as they only understand "computer speak" and I don't.
Ceridian Dayforce is a powerful tool if you have the resources and time to set it up properly. When it was initially set up for our company, it was essentially done by one department and not set up in an ideal manner for the entire organization. As we have rolled it out more, the limitations of the groundwork we failed to do are becoming more apparent, and very difficult/costly to change after the fact.

We are currently using Dayforce for our payroll administration and HR record keeping. Employees have access to Dayforce to update their personal information and view vacation balances.
  • Streamlined Payroll
  • Customizable to fit our needs
  • Interfacing with third-party vendors
  • The system loads very slowly.
  • Report builders could be more streamlined - it’s not always easy to find the fields you need to add to the report.
Dayforce works best when you have all the modules working together but we’ve had trouble interfacing it with some of our other vendors like benefits and timekeeping.

Timekeeping payroll, benefits, reports... mostly used by payroll currently. Will be rolling out self service, schedule, timesheets to entire company in 2020. Hope to decrease strain on payroll and enable managers to do more.
  • The people feature is beautiful and works really well.
  • The layout in payroll to see checks and ability to see live prior to commit.
  • Ability to see and print W-2s.
  • Provide more time for testing during implementation.
  • Reports functionality is terrible. Difficult to pull necessary information without paying professional services to build.
  • More knowledgeable customer support team.
Excellent for small companies who need to customize it to fit specific needs. Excellent for Canada.

We use Dayforce for the whole company from payroll, human resources, and time and attendance. It’s so nice having it all in one system in for pulling reports, as well as running and processing payroll.
  • Time and attendance management.
  • Payroll processing and the committing process.
  • Ease of using the system in general.
  • Reporting on all data that is visible to us in not only in PDF but Excel as well and to be able to report on it all.
  • Too many upgrades makes it hard to manage.
  • Entitlement management.
Ceridian Dayforce is a great system overall that I recommend to most people.

My organization uses Ceridian Dayforce for the entire employee life cycle. We started with payroll and timekeeping and later implemented recruiting, onboarding, benefits, performance management and compensation.

Ceridian has helped us reduce errors, paper usage, and the time managers took to complete processes. This meant increased productivity and effectiveness. Employees were given the ability to go in Ceridian to update day to day changes like addresses, direct deposit, and life events which saved a lot of time for the HR department.
  • Ceridian is innovative and continuously adds modules to make work life easier.
  • Ceridian has the education center available for training.
  • The modules are tailored to match the business needs.
  • If implementation is not done correctly there is a cost associated with making fixes. A lot of projects are billable.
  • Although most of the representatives are engaged, I have encountered a few who take a long time to respond.
  • I would like to see job numbers added to recruiting so recruiters can better track open positions.
Ceridian is best suited for medium to large sized companies. Less appropriate for small companies.

We’re currently in the implementation phase for the product but the payroll functionality is unmatched. They Dayforce platform provides everything we need for our payroll and benefits platform. I would recommend this over and other platform for US payroll.
  • Payroll
  • Analytics Insights
  • Rigid org structure
  • Difficult to support matrix relationships
Dayforce is great for payroll and administrative ease. The basic setup of the solution does pose a lot of issues with .org structure. Additionally, the Compensation module lacks flexibility. The platform is best suited for medium to small and simple organizations

  • Pays our hourly workers accurately with very little manual processes
  • Moving towards eliminating the need for paper leave forms and their corresponding approval process
  • We were pressured to move from our implementation team to support before our actual implementation needs were complete (i.e. payroll calculating properly).

  • Dayforce has helped to bring about a lot of positive change within our organization, by allowing things to be streamlined in one place.
  • The ability to search for troubleshooting assistance needs to be a little better.
  • The response time to resolving issues needs to be shortened.

We were able to reduce the size of the payroll team by 40% due to the amazing automation and paperless workflows. We purchased the entire suite with the exception of one that I am not involved with. It is great to have all the data on one platform reducing the amount of integrations needed with outside vendors.

Off cycle payments has always been such a pain point at Visionworks. Now that we can process separate runs without additional costs, we are able to direct deposit to associate accounts instead of processing live checks or pay card loads.

My team is able to have more of a work/life balance and don't work anywhere near the overtime on the previous product. I would highly recommend Dayforce to anyone looking for a solid solution to all of their business needs.
  • Retro Process
  • Off Cycle Runs
  • Automation
  • Paperless
  • There is no audit trail on who originally built Schedules. I would like to see who initially created it in addition to who updated it.
  • Reporting - being able to run across the entire organization without choosing a pay group.
  • Reporting - being able to make selections in the order they appear on the page without back tracking and changing the parameters. Dayforce defaults back on the time period instead of maintaining that information.
The paperless workflows and configuration allowed us to automate a lot of manual processes we had previously.

We have been with Ceridian Dayforce HCM since 2015. We had been using another software that did not meet the needs of our organization. We reviewed a few products and decided on Ceridian Dayforce. The program is being used by everyone at our organization. We really like having one platform for HR and Payroll.

Dayforce is a very robust system. It is easy to use from the management side to the employees portal. The product has addressed how much time management staff had to process scheduling and approving time. Our management team now spends 1/4 of the time scheduling employees. Which gives them more opportunity to spend time focusing on our members and program needs. Approving timesheets has also been done faster with different reports you can run to ensure that meal breaks and meal premiums are calculated. Staff's ability to authorize their own time makes it easier for management to approve their payroll. They can review their hours daily and address any concerns right away. Our web clock is authenticated 3 ways - employee id, fingerprint, and picture to ensure there are no discrepancies. Payroll process is simplified. Reports can be run prior to audit any discrepancies or issues to easily fix prior to committing payroll. As the system is mobile friendly, management staff can use their mobile devices if needed. I am excited to start the new onboarding software. Dayforce has given our management and administration team time to focus on the bigger picture of the organization. Spend time with members that we serve. We are now able to focus on tasks that strengthen our organization. Ceridian continues to upgrade and enhance Dayforce regularly. They try to be at the epicenter of making their product at the forefront.

  • Timesheets - the ability to access individual employees' information in one screen including pay, clock in/out time, meal premium or meal breaks, notes to employees or management.
  • Employee portal - the ability for employees to review their information, update certain areas, print copies of their paystubs and year-end. Approve their time and message their supervisor.
  • Webclock - capability to either use a device, computer, tablet and phone to clock in/out. The ability to have multiple security to access.
  • The program is created to fit the specific needs of your organization. That is a plus but can also be a barrier when speaking to others or to customer support. A few times, support has to take additional time to review our settings to answer questions.
  • We have learned that when we do something, there are different areas where specific change can be done. An example was change of minimum wage. I was taught to do it in one area. Then we realized some of the employees still had the old rate. I was then informed that there was another area that I needed to change that affected a different part of payroll. This can be confusing and varies upon who you speak to with support.
  • Cost is a factor for small non-profit organizations. Several additional products can be costly and the ability to add may not be feasible.
For us being a small company, the benefit module is for a bigger organization. We had purchased this product at the beginning as a recommendation from Ceridian. However, we had found out through them as we had a small number of benefited employees this product may not be a fit. However, we already paid for the product that they recommended and did not get the full amount refunded to us even though we had never used it. That was very disappointing for us being such a small 3.8m non-profit organization. We even asked to move the cost to another program that we could use but did not get that. Our reps did try to hardest to request the change.

  • Ceridian Dayforce is used by our organization for workforce management in the retail stores. As a time management tool, it allows us to schedule employees, track hours worked and PTO taken. We use it to report labor in relation to sales per hour.
  • It addresses compliance issues - setting up all rules required by states to pay employees accurately and to pay premium hours when in violation of any rules.
  • It allows employees to swap time. It is web-based, so access is readily available and communication can take place between employee and manager.
  • The reporting module is used for PTO accruals and all types of personnel analysis.
  • Track Time and Attendance - easy to use and set up new codes.
  • Audit Trail - the ability to see who did what when is clear for when you are not able to actually speak to someone.
  • Reporting - would like some shortcuts and to know where the data is being pulled from.
  • Ability to go between a person in MyHR to the timesheet
  • Prompts when programming changes to make sure you hit all the areas required. Example, If adding a new part-time sick policy, you are not told that you must add the locations to the mapping table for it to work. All instructions were missing that.
Ceridian Dayforce was specially created for retail and it is set up well to accommodate adding numerous locations and changing organizations easily. On the flip side, setting up complex entitlements can not be programmed in Dayforce. Recently we changed our vacation accrual from accruing over 12 months to 10 months with the exception of year 1. The system could not do this and we manually have to add the accruals for months 11 and 12.

Ceridian Dayforce is being used globally across the entire organization for self-service for employees and managers, payroll, HR, time tracking, time off, reporting HCM, etc., and we absolutely love it!! The workflows make life easier for processes, the roles for security and self-service features are a life saver.
  • Payroll
  • Timesheets
  • Time away
  • Benefits
  • New hire on boarding
  • Workflows
  • Security
  • Accuracy
  • The approval process of manual entries. We use this for restricted stock vesting and having to manually approve every single entry one by one needs to be fixed
  • Silverlight
  • Truly handle global companies. So when moving someone from one country to the next, we shouldn’t have to to term and hire in other pay group to avoid the person dropping off of reporting from the former pay group
Ceridian Dayforce has saved time, work hours and frustrations amongst admin users to CEO.
