Our email marketing strategy was based on the service provided by Mailchimp. Mailchimp's email templates allowed us to send mass emails based on the templates we've set up. Running a campaign and sending marketing emails is a good idea. For example, we can see how many people clicked on a link in the newsletter or responded to a campaign.
- With Mailchimp, creating new email templates is a breeze.
- The user lists are kept in a single location.
- Detailed reports provide us a deeper understanding of the situation.
Cons
- It would be great if the email template edit screen didn't save automatically.
- It is possible to enhance various marketing forms such as a/b testing, social media emails, and so on.
- The OTP might take a long time to arrive when asked for during the login process.

I’ve been using MailChimp for a year, along with other email marketing software products, and MailChimp is one of the best email marketing softwares in the market. I am not a fan of the customer support system, I’ve had to contact the customer support twice, each on different accounts. The first was on a paid account and the customer support rep was very helpful, the second was on a free account and I’m still waiting for their response. I hope they get back to me because it’s still within the 30 days of support.
One of the reasons I don’t like this system is because the brands I work with are mostly startup or small businesses and most of them have heard of MailChimp and they know it’s free for 2000 subscribers, however, they don’t know what restrictions the free plan comes with. And their suggestion to everything is “Contact customer support.” If only they knew.
I also wish the free plan came with a bit of automation but I guess that is what Drip or SendinBlue is for. I also wish MailChimp came with an inbuilt mini tutorial on how to use their software, I think people new to email marketing would find it very useful. I remember the first time I tried MailChimp I had no idea that I had to create a template and then a campaign.
I use MailChimp with a lot of integrations to widen its use, I use MailChimp with Privy, Drip, Hubspot CRM and many other tools thanks to Zapier. One of the features I love about MailChimp and I’m yet to find in SendinBlue or Benchmark Email is the ability to have an image header in the signup form. My review is mostly based on the free plan, but despite the flaws I’d still recommend MailChimp to individuals and companies looking to get into email marketing.

- Clean Interface, easy to use.
- Customizable Signup form that can be used as a landing page.
- Robust free plan suitable for small businesses and bloggers planning to grow and manage their mailing list.
Cons
- The customers support system makes it difficult to get specific help after 30 days. This mean after three days the only support you get is from the Knowledge base or Tutorials from other sources.
- The free plan compared to its competitors comes with limited features such as lack of automation.

- The WYSIWYG editor is very easy to use. For those with little to no html coding experience, you can set up professional emails and templates fairly fast.
Cons
- White listing - Because our lists had not been marketed to in some time, there was a higher bounce rate than we had initially expected. Mailchimp then flagged our account as a potential SPAM account, shutting down a campaign entirely. When I tried to explain that this initial mailing would have a higher bounce rate because of the lists' age, the customer service team was unbending in shutting down our account. I moved my team onto to Manticore shortly thereafter.

We're a small team and use it company-wide to send our regular newsletters to our customers. We use a template and adapt it monthly with different content. It's a way to engage all our signed up users and our blog subscribers as we try to build our email marketing capability.
- List management and user segmentation
- Easy to set up on your site for basic or advanced use
- Good step-wise process to build and publish a newsletter
Cons
- Template editor is clunky and a little brittle

MailChimp is being used in order to create elegant email templates and designs to send organization-wide and division-wide newsletters, updates, and important memos. It has been slowly adopted across the company, not by one sole user but through word of mouth. It addresses the issue of streamlining our design (we now have a standard MailChimp design we can use but also customize a bit) and allows us to disseminate information in a much more impressive and effective manner, increasing user engagement.
- Their UI is incredible - it's very easy to use, provides a plethora of options, and allows for a high level of customization.
- They have many metrics that are useful for analyzing engagement without using a separate platform.
- Their customer service is quite helpful if you're running into roadblocks along the way.
Cons
- More features / new designs are always nice, as one can exhaust any toolkit when it comes to layout design.
- More robust metrics to analyze user engagement; what they have is great, but we still find ourselves relying on other analytics.
