Difficult Tasks

  • Creating HTML mails without a very deep knowledge of coding - their Design Studio leaves a lot to be desired
  • The sort from ascending/descending option in most lists is unavailable and forces you to download to an Excel rather than doing it inside of Marketo

Difficult Tasks

  • For us, since we have RCA, keeping RCA stages updated is difficult due to record merges.
  • Getting Marketo reports to match SFDC reports can sometimes be difficult - you have to find the discrepancies in order to make sure the reporting is working as intended.
  • Territory updates sometimes take a long time in Marketo.

Difficult Tasks

  • Copying a campaign and replacing pictures and text. Sounds easy, it was extremely difficult.
  • Deleting or managing multiple instances of the same person. There is not cleanup. I believe I was offered to pay thousands of dollars to have it cleaned up for me.

Difficult Tasks

  • The ability to further customize reports beyond the standard options can sometimes make it difficult to pull detailed information without additional manual effort.
  • The ability to modify Marketo Sales Insight features can sometimes be difficult depending on the structure and processes of the Sales organization using it.
  • While the Marketo interface is user-friendly, new users may require a ramp-up period to become comfortable using and understanding nuances with certain features.

Difficult Tasks

  • Setting up programs, especially webinar sends, often took approximately 1.5 hours
  • Editing email sends required having each element prepared, sized and ready to go in advance. On-the-fly editing is virtually impossible
  • Dynamic content makes the program building process infinitely longer, especially in the testing and editing phase

Difficult Tasks

  • No formula fields based on fields.
  • Difficult to 'bi-sect' the entire database to analyze. For example, I want to get a list of all unique email domains that are in my lead address database. (Good News) It is available as a advanced beta function. I used it, its great.

What is Marketo?

Marketo Engage aims to help marketing teams drive demand and growth in their companies by delivering exceptional experiences in concert with sales at every stage of the customer journey.

The challenge these teams face is that everyone today expects a personalized experience whenever they interact with a company - they don’t have patience for generic marketing and the last thing they want is a cold call from sales. So to stay competitive, marketing teams are scrambling to understand customers better, so they can give them a better experience, because this is disrupting entire industries. And a big part of what’s needed is figuring out how marketing and sales can do a better job together.

The vendor states Marketo Engage redefines Marketing Automation by helping these companies bring together the customer data, content, automation and analytics needed for marketing and sales to coordinate engagement with customers that’s personalized and measurable at every touchpoint - and do it with efficiency and scale.
