While using TeamViewer the fact of it being HIPAA compliant has created a good sense of security for my company as well as for our clients. We have never had a security issue while using TeamViewer. We the password security in place there has never been an issue there either. TeamViewer is the Remote Access to use!

Secure Access Tool

TeamViewer which comes with end-to-end encryption using AES-256bit is a great security feature. The additional layer of security in redundancy by making the admins to add the hosts in address book keeps the system access secured. Dual factor authentication is another reliable feature and is used mostly by compliant requirement. Malware protection provides more trust against the online attacks.

The connection with clients is more secure because an SSL connection is established. So when I need to manage a remote client I do not worry to supply to the final user an user and password but I can manage remote client with a simple click. So user do not write password around the office.

Our equipment and organization are already protected by other services, so this is mainly for rapid access and assistance. As a developer, I wish there was a common feature that would allow for remote control of devices, such as a backend connection to a device's registry, disks, and other functions, without having to bother the end user.

We already use other services to keep our devices and organization secure, so this is more for quick access and support of devices. The feature that I wish was standard would be the monitoring and ability to connect to a device in the backend and modify registry, drives, and other features where I don't have to bother my end user and just work on it on when needed.

The security features have improved greatly with team viewer you cannot add a computer to any group without email approval for new device. This security is geo based as well if your IP changes from the location you started team viewer it will ask for approval via email to approved admin/user before continuing this secures remote control with multi factor for every new connection requirement, that's pretty secure and influenced us to add MFA to other software account (Lastpass, Office365 etc..)

The TeamViewer website says the product includes encryption based on 4096 RSA private/public key exchange and AES (256-bit) session encryption. That technology is based on the same standards as https and SSL and meets all of today's standards for security. The key exchange also ensures full client-to-client data protection. We like that.

we have sued the encryption feature to keep our traffic secure. it has worked fairly well and I believe it is up to the industry standard as to how well it performs. We also use the unattended security feature which also works great except for when there are programmatic issues when the app stops working occasionally.

We have used permission based access groups for our managed endpoints to prevent unauthorized outside access. By implementing this access control policy we can selectively allow specific machines to accept connections from agents outside our account.

One of the strongest aspects of the Teamviewer application is the ease of use and the steps it takes on the security side without compromising the connection speed. We can use this application even at critical points without fear, thanks to the connection protection that is constantly developed with encryption technologies and the protocols at the first connection opening stage.

For the most part, just using the basic security features of Teamviewer has been a real benefit to "locking things down." One of these is setting Teamviewer to always generate random passwords, so that passwords are not used over and over in subsequent sessions. Another is access control, which is very important. Both of these features are probably the two most important security features of Teamviewer and it's improved perception of security by knowing that we don't have to look to other 3rd party solutions for providing these most important features in remote access/assistance software.

The main security features used have been related to machine passwords. There are three types of authentication to connect to a remote computer, a randomly generated passcode that is provided to you via the remote user, an "easy access" password that is set on the remote computer that never changes, and setting up a TeamViewer account and connected the various machines to the account. The strength of the randomly generated passcode can be adjusted (such as length and a mixture of number, letters and special characters) and can be set to expire after a couple of hours or after each use. The "easy access" password can be whatever you want it to be, obviously the stronger the better. Finally, if connected via a TeamViewer account, the TeamViewer account itself can be setup with two-factor authentication. For the most part, TeamViewer is used on-demand - meaning it is not connected to a TeamViewer account nor does it have an "easy access" password setup. In these situation, the strength of the randomly generated passcode is put at the maximum level (10 characters with a mix of different types of characters) and is set to change after each session.

TeamViewer does an excellent job in giving remote access to individual workstations. The software is easy to setup and use by non-tech savvy users alike. The connection is very secure with 256-bit encryption end to end. Users of the software are prodded (and really should be forced at this point with security in the world) to enable MFA when signing up for an account. If a user logs in on an untrusted device, TeamViewer stops them in their tracks to force a notification email acknowledgement. This is extremely vital as someone would not be able to gain access to computer remote control without first verifying their device (which implies access to the owner's Inbox, first).

We often use TeamViewer for access to customer, as well as our own, machines. Security is a major concern of ours, and as such, we took a long time to evaluate the different options and alternatives. Thankfully, TeamViewer ticked all the boxes for us.

For those times we need to access customer workstations for providing support, our customers can fire up TeamViewer and provide us (typically over the phone) with the automatically generated random password that their TeamViewer software provides. This works great because it's super simple whilst ensuring a cryptographically secure password is used.

In other situations, we sometimes need to access specific machines remotely whilst there isn't a user nearby to enable access for us on a case by case basis. For these situations, TeamViewer allows us to use what it calls Easy Access. Essentially, this allows us to assign machines at both ends of the connection to our TeamViewer account, authorising the connection to each other whenever we need it. Perfect!

In addition to Easy Access, you also have the option to use two-factor authentication. We already use this for most of our own machines and are starting to implement it with all of our customers too. With this in place, we feel the security offered by TeamViewer is excellent.

Finally, we also intend to implement TeamViewer's Conditional Access features. This should allow us to restrict all connections to specific IP addresses, ensuring operators outside of our company or our customer's company, are blocked from ever being able to initiate a connection.

We always configured strong passwords on remote client machines which when connecting with TeamViewer was a required first step for establishing a connection. This was an essential feature because we configured TeamViewer to always start on machine startup so a weak password could have left the remote machine exposed had anyone gained access to its team viewer id. File transfers were over a secure protocol as well when pushing new builds out to customers. Our customers always appreciated the speed and security of our updates which were only possibly with the speed and security TeamViewer provided us when connecting remotely.

We have taken advantage of the password protection features that TeamViewer offers. Two factor authentication is another feature that we have used that we find to be incredibly useful. These two features alone give us confidence that our TeamViewer connections are safe and secure. We are currently exploring the black and whitelist features offered.

Our remote offices are staffed only part time, we use TeamViewer to update files and change settings remotely using the automatic connection function. The use of both a user ID and password (pin code) keep the worry of nefarious remote access to a minimum. Upper management with limited IT experience feels more secure with this style of access and ability to "check up" on the remote computers at any time.
