We are using UKG Pro as a solution for most employee-facing Human Resources related information. Employees can find their personal data, compensation data, PTO plans, [...] personal development plan info, benefits plans, [...] enrollment, and lots of other information related to HR policies and procedures. This is basically a one-stop-shop for employees to access HR information.
  • It provides a platform for employees to easily enroll in benefits during the annual enrollment period.
  • It allows employees to complete their personal development plans and submit those to supervisors for approval.
  • It provides employees with current compensation information, including W2s when available for the current tax year.
  • The PTO plans section of UKG is not very intuitive when it comes to understanding how many hours of PTO an employee has left for the year.
  • Employees have to log in to a different system in order to submit a PTO request, so it appears UKG [Pro] does not handle that functionality.
  • There are a lot of menus to sift through, making it difficult to find information sometimes.
UKG [Pro] is well suited to relatively large organizations [that] need a system to administer human resources details, employee benefits, PTO plans, and other personal employee information. It might be a bit overly complicated for smaller organizations whose annual review processes are not as complex or in-depth as other organizations.

Process payroll through UTM - Time management for all timekeeping needs. Process payroll through UKG Pro. Collaborate with Tax and Payment services for all tax and garnishment needs for our company. Use multiple time-off plans for our team and help maintain accounts.

Great integrated system for Onboarding through Time Management. Our managers like the fact that they can process the onboarding online before the hire date so the employee is able to start day 1 with very [few] issues. Timecards and access are generally ready within 24 hours of the hire date. Payment Services for Tax filing have been a nightmare! Delay and lack of response for several cases that have been escalated up to our Account Manager who also has been frustrated with the lack of response/acknowledgment received.

We use onboarding, core, time management, and payroll. We also use the mobile app. Our associates on the properties are able to clock in and out through the mobile app and request time off. We have used document acknowledgment for our handbook and policies as well as capturing vaccination information prior to our annual conference.

Payroll processing is easy to manage. Cases are easy to submit and response time is good. Customer support is good. payment services are lacking. We have had issues for 2 years now and been through several UKG folks supporting our account. Responsiveness is lacking in payment services.

We use UKG for HR, Payroll, Talent Management, WFM, Ben Prime. We take advantage of the flexibility of org codes to identify specific employee detail that is passed through the GL giving our operations a team greater flexibility.

  • Bring back some of the old navigation functionality, i.e being able to navigate to sub-pages without having to start from the beginning. Navigating through favorites should have the same functionality as navigating from the menu.
  • The better transition of ALM. Case maintenance became very slow, had to start escalating for them to get attention.
  • Maybe this already happens, but give some companies the opportunity to review releases and provide feedback.
UKG has been great for the employee experience, easy to navigate, (was). We love the recruiting through the onboarding process. Our biggest issues are we have a lot of employee movement, employees that change jobs, Change cost centers, or change company. These moves have created a lot of strain on payroll and benefits administration. Some of these issues could have been prevented while running a fetch data process in WFM before exporting timecards. It would be nice if this could be an optional step to have automated as part of the timecard export.

My department uses UKG Pro for all actions on the HR side. One of the areas we spend more time with issues is on our benefits platform, PlanSource. We have ongoing Service Requests and Cases that are sometimes resolved quickly, sometimes not. The large majority of these are related to PlanSource, so they are outside of Core UKG Pro.

  • 1095 reporting. Last year we had to run all states instead of being able to run just CA
  • BI has become more user friendly, I'd like to use more of the canned reports, but they don't always seem to be accurate
  • I've had cases where I've asked someone to call me to resolve because it would only take a few minutes. The cases tend to go back and forth due to miscommunication and take much longer to resolve than they should.
I think one of the most important parts of any system is the implementation. Having the right expertise during this process is key to long-term success. I would have liked to have been at the company when it was implemented to have influenced some of the setups. There is a lot of clean-up that has occurred over the past two years that could have been avoided. Now that the majority of it is cleaned up, it's much easier to use and processes flow better. We do a lot of acquisitions and I believe there is still some development that could take place to better support this type of customer. Overall, it's a great product, we love it.

We switched to UKG in 2020 from a different HRIS provider. The scope of our project included streamlining all HR functions under one system (ie Benefits vendor management, invoicing) and improving our HR processes (Performance Management, Compensation Management, Open Enrollment, Associate Geofence Tracking, Recruitment, etc.). Prior to making the switch, we were paperless for two years so this was the natural best next step for our organization to upgrade our associate experience by providing a better self-service option for our associates and automating many of our HR processes.

UKG is great for any company looking to take its HR department to the next level by streamlining processes and providing the ability to reduce human error. We previously used another large HCM that did not provide customers access to the backend and was not user-friendly. We sought software that was configurable, intuitive, and user-friendly providing HR the ability to troubleshoot our own issues, create and run robust reports as well as access the back-end tables that allowed us to make changes on the fly.
  • Training and a knowledge base is accessible to customers
  • Provides a robust reporting tool (Cognos)
  • Payroll processing runs smoothly
  • Continually looks to improve the system taking customer feedback to enhance the tools
  • Collaborations with partners during implementation are needed. UKG Pro support should attend status meetings.
  • The ability to approve time off requests directly from emails.
  • Provide Administrators with proxy access to log in as users. This would assist in troubleshooting issues and reduce cases logged.
  • Standard reports should have an output option in a database format, ie. CSV. Currently, if the output is basically pasted as the PDF format in an excel file which is not sufficient for sorting, filtering, pivots, etc.
  • All support cases should be assigned within 12 hours.
  • UKG Benefits needs improvement to be more user friendly and more like a Benefits Administration system.
UKG Pro is conducive to various-sized companies and is affordable. They show concern for their customers and provide good customer service. The merger with Kronos seemed to adversely impact customer support for a time but is improving. The UKG Pro Benefits open enrollment and life events piece is cumbersome and not user-friendly. However, if you are a company that wishes to configure a system and maintain tables, UKG Pro provides just that; along with a robust, well-written knowledge base to support customers who desire self-service.

We use UKG Pro for most of our HR needs; from employee data and payroll to timekeeping, salary planning, employee changes, performance management, and recruiting and onboarding to online learning, we utilize the system as much as we can. One of our biggest business improvements was transitioning from paper employee change forms to running almost all employee changes through UKG Pro using their manager-initiated business processes and approval workflows. This has streamlined our employee change processes immensely. We also love that all of the different modules within the system speak to each other; our ATS speaks to our Onboarding module, which speaks to the Core system and the rest of our modules, greatly reducing the amount of manual data entry required.

We are a global organization, based mostly in Africa. Prior to purchasing UKG Pro, we were using endless spreadsheets for tracking employee information. We also used cloud-based storage (Box) to house everything. We used an outdated time and attendance system, as well as manually extracting information to use for accounting purposes. I use UKG on a daily basis, to update employee information, run reports in People Analytics, process payroll, create processes and requests, etc.

  • Customer service is great, but cases could be handled a bit more urgently.

We use UKG Pro as our current HRIS for the whole company. We have been exploring many new facets of the system in order to maximize our usage. We are increasing mobile usage for pay inquiries and employment history; we are using People Analytics for the reporting needs of the company; we are engaging our workforce to understand the scope of the information that UKG Pro holds and can provide to our employees. It has taken some time to get our employees to trust the system, but we have been seeing higher engagement in the last year.
  • People Analytics reporting is great - with the Cognos Analytics background to create all types of reporting; from dashboards to simple reporting
  • Employee Self Service - allowing the employee to own their information and providing helpful space for them to maintain it with the web and mobile app
  • Manager Self Service - putting information in Managers' hands in order to get them to make the best decisions on their personnel. The roles that add the My Team menu allow Managers to see Talent, Job, Compensation, and other information for all their folks and also compare to the rest of the team.
  • Onboarding - being able to really reach a new hire in the days before their start date, with the information that they may need ahead of time or on day 1
  • Proxy for the HR Team - HR usually gets requests from employees that it would be helpful if there was the ability to proxy in the system as that employee to see the exact errors or questions that arise, instead of asking for screenshots and having to hold meetings to see the employee's screen
  • Support - has been lacking recently compared to what it was. Most of the representatives are really knowledgeable, however, their ability to react to your service ticket in a timely manner leads to many escalations. In the past, we have been able to get quicker service and not miss SLAs, however recently we have noticed more slipping in response times.
I have watched many presentations of other HRIS and even started at other companies the process of implementing them. I have not worked on a system that is as easy to use as both an administrator and an end-user. I have seen this system in use across many different industries and each time, the system has worked perfectly. From small 200-300 employee companies to 7,000 global employee companies, UKG Pro has been able to handle all of them with ease.

  • Sometimes updating an employee's supervisor can be complicated. It is hard to remember all the places that need updating (time management, job summary, etc)
As an HR rep, I used UKG every day for different situations. Whether it is resetting a password, looking up employee info, or updating something in time management, it is easy to use.

What I use most are Recruiting and Onboarding and employee services. The Recruiting and Onboarding tools are very user-friendly. A majority of our workforce is production/manufacturing employees most of whom are not fluent with computers. They are able to easily apply, create their profiles and complete their online forms. My only complaint is that candidates are not able to go back in and edit their application questions as some applicants mistakenly answer questions incorrectly so it flags them as disqualified in the system.

We have several exports from UKG to other in-house servers for various reasons as UKG contains all our main information.

it would be nice if there were easily accessible instructions on how to use the phone app that could be pushed out to managers. We get a lot of people calling needing help with the app, and I just don't have the answers that they are looking for.

We use UltiPro across the organization. One of the biggest benefits of UltiPro is the intuitive Employee and Manager Self-Service functions. Employees are able to update and maintain their own data without having to contact HR or get approval. Managers are able to make job and compensation changes as well as department transfers on their own. This puts the responsibility and the authority in the hands of the owner. It has reduced a great deal of paper and work required by HR.
  • Ease of use - with managers and employees entering their own information , this is critical
  • Training - UKG provides free training, forever. Critical as new HR employees come on board
  • Robust - UltiPro provides every function that we need in HR to do our job and allow employees and managers to do their job.
  • Self-Service - This was the most impactful change to our organization with employees and managers
  • There are some screens that are required to appear during workflow approvals. It would be nice if instead of telling managers to ignore them, we are allowed to remove them from the flow.
Payroll runs well, is easy to learn and the payroll services are excellent. The benefits module is easy to use. We have a very high turnover industry and so setting up life events easily is important. Employee and manager self-service was a game changer for us.

Across the whole organization since 2005. We use it for Payroll and HRIS. UPDATE 2021: We have implemented Recruiting, Onboarding, Performance, succession, etc. this past year. We will be implementing compensation and other modules in the coming months.
  • Their business intelligence reporting is among the best. The only downfall is it takes a lot of time to learn, but once you learn, their is endless reporting opportunity.
  • Strong customer networking with things like local user groups, BI exchange (so you don't have to write reports from scratch) and online groups.
  • I have noticed that their BI support has improved over the years. I can only assume that they recognized that their users need more hand holding as they don't always have time to spend on learning.
  • While there has been improvement, I still think BI support can improve even more. There have been many times where they still send me to put in a Service Request for something we need.
  • The training options are great! I would love it if they would have more live classes near Boston. Also, some one on one training would be outstanding because then you could use examples within your own company. Sometimes the regular classes just gives a high level knowledge, which isn't always enough.
  • Some of the items I am working on is an access matrix to understand who has what role and what access. This does not seem to be easy to find in the system.
Since we have had the system since 2005, there is really no reason to change it as it has been doing what we need it to for payroll. However, we are getting more and more lean training within our company and would love to be able to have an all in one system. We have iCIMS for recruiting, Kronos for time keeping and Ulti for payroll/HR. If the recruiting/onboarding was better and the time system (workforce management) was comparable, we may eventually switch. We priced the data feeds a while back and found it to be VERY pricey. I would love to be able to get 4-5 feeds to the various benefit sites to help us become more efficient but it is not cost effective. I have reviewed the comp and performance components and they do not fit with what we do. For one, we have a PFP system for our production EEs which works with production data found in other systems so there really wouldn't be a way to pull that info into Ulti. UPDATE 2021: We have updated from iCIMS to UKG Recruiting, plus ONB, performance, etc.

UKGPro is currently being used by the HR and payroll departments. Our employees are also using it for self service options to update address information, view their pay statements and W-2s, as well as viewing their benefits information. We've also launched the performance management tools and are conducting performance reviews and compensation reviews within the application. Over the next 12 months, we'll be using the application to better communicate metric data to executive managers all the way down to our front line supervisors.
  • Payroll processing - We have four pay groups and we can pick and choose which pay groups we'll run payroll for and which ones we're not quite ready to run yet. There is a great deal of configurability and flexibility when running the payroll. Since our launch of UltiPro, we've reduced the time it takes to run payroll from roughly 3 and a half days, to 8 hours.
  • The business intelligence reporting is amazing. It took approximately 2 weeks for us to learn, but after learning where the fields are located, the tool is great!
  • The configurability of the application was one of the aspects that I liked best when going through the review process. When the salesperson tells you that the system is highly configurable, that is exactly what it means. Practically everything that I have looked at, I have been able to configure the page, fields or business rules to fit what I wanted to do.
  • The talent management area is very easy to use and intuitive.
  • Perception survey tool is incredibly insightful and has allowed us to better measure our employee's engagement.
  • One area that I would consider UltiPro to be lacking is with the original benefits administration module. The process has improved significantly in the last several years, but it can be difficult to manage contingencies and other factors that could impact an employee's benefit elections.
  • The tax, wage attachments and garnishments area is working its way back to being a strength, but they've had some significant challenges over the last several years.
UltiPro is well suited for any employer, small or large. It has scalability and can be configured to fit any employer's needs. Where I would say it is less appropriate is if you need a slightly more robust recruiting system and you need some additional functionality around your talent acquisition process.

We use UKG Pro for our HRIS, payroll processing, and tax reporting/payments. We also use their BI reporting feature for standard reports and custom reports. We implemented UKG late in 2020 and went live [on] January 1, 2021. We also use their Workforce Management for PTO and holiday tracking.

[I feel like] everything is struggle and the lack of knowledge and experience is unbelievable [in my opinion]. [I believe that] the errors and the waste of time we have endured have cost our company thousands of dollars.

I use UltiPro/UKG Pro for Time Card Management / PTO Tracking, W2 Management, and Performance Management.
  • I like the ease of use of the tool. It's user-friendly and there's so much you can do with the software.
  • The time management program, as well as the ability to manage employee information and benefits.
  • The functionality of the system overall - how each module works with each other.
  • We are not big fans of the Learning Management Module they offer with their system.
The overall experience with this software and company has been very good. UltiPro provided the best product to meet our specific needs and overall best value; in addition, customer service and training are far superior to what other vendors were offering.

UKG is our HRIS. We process payroll for the US and recently Canada using UKG. We also use the timesheet module to track time for our hourly employees. We also have some of our salaried employees track their hours by project. We also use the employee self-service features for employees to be able to update their own direct deposit, W-4's, etc.
  • UKG tracks compensation and job history for the employees well.
  • UKG's time tracking module works well with the core side of the software to upload hours on the timesheets into the payroll batches.
  • UKG has a good offering of both standard and BI reports.
  • From what I've recently seen, some of the new models of time clocks offered by UKG are not as user-friendly as previous models that will soon no longer be supported. We are still waiting on further info on other options/clocks that won't extend the time it takes our hourly employees to enter new time/projects that they are working on.
I think UKG is user-friendly, especially on the core side. The UTM/Timesheet side is very involved and sometimes it's hard for me to find what I'm looking for in the [setup]. This is because I personally don't work on the timesheet side as much as the rest of my team. The good news is that I [can] always easily get help from UKG by submitting a ticket; then someone reaches out via email or by phone to drill down on the needs at hand and offer options.

This is used for payroll tracking and viewing pay stubs, with tax docs.
  • The view is clear and easy to find what you're looking for.
  • Login with the SSO account, to the mobile app is a little cumbersome.
When UKG Pro is integrated with the companies systems, it is a fast easy process to get all the W4 information, and tax/payroll information including direct deposit. Its also very nice to have easy full access to this without needing to submit physical paperwork for simple changes. If this is not fully integrated, the extra logins is a little hassle and less convenient to get started.

It is currently used across the organization from initial onboarding through to employee records. Employee[s] are able to access PTO, personal information, and benefit information.
  • User friendly - easy to navigate even if you aren't in it daily.
  • Updated information - once PTO is used, it is reflected in the system.
  • Easy to make changes - because of its navigability it is easy to make changes to address, withholding, or PTO.
  • Integration with other systems - we currently use Lever for ATS and once they have moved through Lever, we have had glitches with information parsing to UKG. Still working on it with both companies.
I think because of its ease of use by the occasional user, it can be accepted across most companies. Even if you aren't using it daily, like HR would, it is still easy to navigate and find information through the use of drop down menus or searches.
