I use Mailchimp to send quarterly newsletters to my subscribers and for targeted communications to participants that sign up for events. It ensures that our subscribers stay informed of our upcoming schedule of events.
  • API integration within a vast ecosystem of applications
  • Flexible contact customizations
  • Campaign performance and subscriber open/click through reporting
  • Email template design on free plan is very limited
  • Commercial starter plans are very cost prohibitive
  • Features that were freely available were taken away over time and made paid capabilities
It’s good for larger organizations that can pay for the subscription.

As a marketing coordinator I use Mailchimp to send out EDM's to our clients and data base of agents. This could be on topics such as new projects, current H&L offerings, promotions and general news letters. I like the drag and drop function when building emails and how easy it is to pick a segment to send to. It can be a bit glitchy when copying in large blocks of text from another source but it is fairly easy to work around.
  • Easy overview of campaign results
  • Drag and drop function to build EDM's
  • Easy to invite others from your company to create their own profiles and collaborate
  • Great overview of campaigns in the campaign calendar
  • Formatting pasted text from another source when building an EDM can be glitchy. I currently have to reformat the whole block of text to something else completely and then back to the font and point size I want.
  • The line/space block in EDM builder isn't reliable. I always have to send many test emails to myself to check how big the space is between modules and adjust then send again.
  • The landing page builder is good but sometimes hard to get right in terms of size of images and spacing. Especially the footer.
It's a great tool for someone just starting out, either as a beginner in marketing or for a small business. There are so many great reading resources on Mailchimp's own web page that teaches you about Mailchimp itself and also general marketing. Even if you are just on a free plan you can take advantage of the many educational articles.

I use Mailchimp with some of my website/startup projects because of its generous free plan. It gives me plenty of space to build up my email lists before committing to a plan. It's easy to use, and the dashboards and user interfaces are super easy to use for marketers or even those brand-new to email marketing.

As of now, we use Mailchimp for its list management, signup forms, welcome emails, and basic newsletters.
  • Easy to use
  • Generous free plan
  • Pretty campaigns and templates
  • Too many features
  • Scope far beyond email marketing
  • Pricey for small campaigns
Mailchimp is perfect for small businesses that want to scale their email lists and get started with email marketing. However, it tries hard to be a one-stop-shop for everything, but it really only does email marketing exceptionally well—the rest is "meh," which means it really should just be an email tool, and you'll need to use other tools to supplement the rest of your marketing needs.

Mailchimp has given a significant boost to our customer engagement and brand awareness. It is terribly amazing with its powerful analytics & well- designed templates that are also optimised for mobile devices. It has substantially helped us to strategise & fast track our email marketing approach. The email builder allows us to drag & drop the elements, themes, text and create unique & and relevant mailers in a professional style.
  • Free to use
  • Robust Automation
  • Simple Interface
  • Detailed Analytics
  • Customer Segmentation
  • Limitation on advanced features in free plan
  • Lacking customer support
  • Learning curve
With Mailchimp we are able to revive and enhance our personal connect with the customers. The easy-to-use tools allows us to personalize the email content, segregate and target important leads & send relevant messages. Also, it offers interactive analysis on the performance of a particular campaign. We can judge the effectiveness of our mailers in real time.

I use Mailchimp for newsletters promoting our design firm services, updates, and Case studies.
We can deliver mail with our design to a database that we can filter into different audiences.
  • easily integrates HTML design we have created
  • custom templates saving
  • campaign setting is user friendly
  • segmentation
  • Contact import from CVS or Excel files as fields don't match that easily
  • Add features for free or low-price plans
  • IA to import contacts smartly
SUITED
If you need to have an organized database to send emails to regularly.
If you seek design flexibility.
If you want robust analytics.

INAPPROPIATE
If your budget is too low
If your database can be handled manually (as per its small size)

We publish two weekly newsletters that we fulfill through MailChimp. The list management functions work perfectly fine. People are to sign up or change their preferences without issue. We never get non-delivery complaints, and that's a big deal.

Mailchimp is a rock-solid performer in the basic functions of getting a newsletter into subscriber email boxes, which is all we use it for, and that's why we haven't really considered alternatives in so long.
  • Basic contact management
  • Fulfillment
  • Basic, one-click poll functions
  • The interface remains a cluttered, non-intuitive mess. That's true from the haphazard way features are organized to the actual email layout.
  • Analytics have never been a priority, and I don't see that changing with Intuit's new ownership. I'm very frustrated over the limited choices for reporting, even when using third-party solutions. If I needed that function, I would not use MailChimp.
  • I would love to develop a workflow screen that lets me focus on the things that I use all the time. Customizing the interface where the content actually goes into the software would help.
  • I never understood why we couldn't import a document into a MC template. At best, we're spending time copying-and-pasting from one app into MC.
Content heavy newsletters like ours that run 750-1,000 words seem more suited to other, new platforms. Everything from the way that onboard hints try to cut wordcount to the editing pane and email layout being two separate items makes using MC difficult.

Integrating with top companies in different space would be a no-brainer. When I briefly tried one of MC's competitors, I was stunned to see it offer a one-click import into WordPress. Automatically publishing to social media would also be a nice benefit.

We use Mailchimp to send community newsletters and marketing related materials (non business docs). It works well for us because it is a light lift in training, allows us to connect other products that we use and we can easily send out nice looking pieces. We really needed a product that our volunteer board could use to engage with our members and encourage involvement in events like parties and get togethers but also work to set up things like neighborhood clean up days.
  • Manage mail lists, opt ins and opt outs
  • Provide basic deliverability reporting and allow for resends
  • Is really easy to train a basic user
  • There isn't a lot of flexibility in templates - so sometimes we have to be creative to make them work
Mailchimp is ideal for a small non profit or a small business just getting started. It lets you reach your audience and stay within the parameters of compliance (which many aren't aware exists). However if you are really interested in getting into the weeds and using things like audience segmentation, variable content, lead journeys etc - you need to either invest in a higher level version of MC or look at alternative products. Email Marketing Matters!

I use Mailchimp as my primary email marketing tool. For small business startups it may not be possible or within the budget to invest in email marketing when they are not confident of the ROI. Three plan of Mailchimp addresses this specific problem where users can start free and pay as and when they grow bigger. Mailchimp let's me integrate a mailing list on my website where I collect email addresses and then send our newsletters to those who would like to follow my business.
  • Mailchimp allows you to manage your mailing list really well. You can subscribe people, unsubscribe people manage the mailing list directly into segments, and what not.
  • Mailchimp has features where you can create campaigns based on your mailing lists and send out newsletters to your subscribers based on a multitude of parameters that you can setup. Such as send email daily, weekly, monthly and they also have event based mails that you can send out.
  • Mailchimp also has a feature where you can design your emails. The look and aesthetics are very important when sending emails to your subscribers and all those needs are addressed here.
  • I have not faced any issues with Mailchimp recently. But, when I just started out with them the main issue that I had faced was that they simply banned my account thinking that I was a spammer. I could not get in touch with them and there was no way that I could have my business email which I had purchased up and working with them. I am not sure whether this should be categorized as a negative point but nevertheless, I thought I'd mention it.
  • Another area where Mailchimp could improve is that they don't have a good plugin for WordPress. We need to rely on third party shady plugins which do a better job and at the end of the day, this is not good practice considering website security.
  • Lastly, they are now getting into all sorts of other features such as CRM and what not, they are not keeping things focused and simple. They could improve in this area by making the portal a little more intuitive of the added capabilities of the platform.
Well for me Mailchimp is the go to email marketing tool. If you are a startup business looking to get into email marketing and you have a mailing list with less than 2000 subscribers, it it a great place to start. You could however look at the capabilities of other service providers in case you have a much bigger mailing list. Having said that one important reason why I would recommend Mailchimp over many other service providers is their policy on spam. They maintain things so that everything works as expected for the genuine businesses that just want to connect with their subscribers genuinely.

We use Mailchimp in our church to send out email newsletters, prayer requests, and announcements to our congregation. We have also used it in the past to send emails to guests who visit our church for the first time. This was beneficial to us because we could see if the recipient opened the email rather than wondering if they got it or if it went into their spam folder.
  • Email Formatting
  • Contact Management
  • Product Usages Walkthroughs
  • "Send To" Contact Selection
  • Campaign Search Feature
Mailchimp is well-suited for any organization that needs to send out mass email campaigns. There are a few technical skills that are required to get an email looking clean and professional, but once you have some templates made, it makes it easy to send great-looking emails to your contact lists. If someone is not tech-savvy, they should be prepared for a steep learning curve and to find quality YouTube videos to help. I say this because I tried to help my church's secretary learn how to use our Mailchimp account once. Let's just say, I'm still the main guy sending the church's emails.

We love using Mailchimp. I have used other email marketing systems in the past and by far Mailchimp is the easiest to use. I can create beautiful templates, add images with a click, create a customer journey and update it anytime, schedule an email to go out later, and even find the best time to send it! I also like that there are web versions of the email saved so if I need to send to someone specifically, I can just send them a link.
  • Format new templates
  • Create an audience and save for later
  • Include links to social pages that are always there for me
  • Add images, buttons, headers, footers, links and more
  • A report of users that have unsubscribed
  • Additional emojis
We use Mailchimp for all of our email campaigns, both one-off campaigns and customer journeys. It works great for all of the needs that we currently have.

We use it to send our monthly newsletters, we also have some automated campaigns where someone wants to get a white paper and they sign up for it on Mailchimp.
  • Free mailing list
  • Setting up forms
  • I find it hard to navigate
  • The automation is fiddly
  • The mailing list is difficult to navigate
  • They used to be good then they changed to being really expensive
I think it's hard to work out the free version.

When I used Mailchimp, it's main use was to help my clients to send out weekly and monthly newsletter. Both me and my clients where overall happy with Mailchimp as a mailing-system and a CRM.The main reason why Mailchimp is used, is because of it's simplicity. Although it seems a bit confusing at first to use the interface, when you find where all the main features are hidden, it is a breeze to work with.

However, it also has a few downsides. The confusing interface makes it a bit difficult to create a quick workflow. This becomes especially apparent when you want to send out a full campaign quickly. Also, the overall design looks a bit dated, especially in 2023. Even though it has everything you need, from email designer, campaign editor and contact list is present and working perfectly, it feels a bit like working with older software.
If you can look past this, you are presented with a solid piece of email marketing software that will help you to create valuable connections with your clients.
ou will not be disappointed for sure.

As an extra, if you are a small company, helping clients to create their email marketing campaigns, Mailchimp has a solid way of connecting them with your account, so you can manage everything that is agreed with your clients.
  • As a client portal to guide them with marketing emails
  • As a solid CRM system
  • As your main marketing email software to connect with future clients.
  • The design is a bit outdated. Not a big problem per-se, but it sometimes feels a bit out of place in 2023
  • Some functionalities are a bit hidden in the menus. Even when you think you know where they are, it still feels counter intuitive to have to look for them.
Even with it's negative sides, Mailchimp is still a solid piece of software that you should use for your marketing needs.
Especially the free version gives you a good overview of the possibilities of everything that you might need to get started with online marketing.
Once everything is setup properly, you will not be disappointed and will be using this great piece of software will guide you for years in your online work.

Before implementing Mailchimp, I inherited an incredibly basic email marketing system from the previous marketing team. The old system included only one image and link per email; I upgraded it to include multiple links on a single "image" through more advanced coding, but it was a time-consuming process that simply did not fit into our busy work schedule. Mailchimp changed everything for our marketing team. In addition to cutting down the time it took to create our email blast campaigns because everything was done in a single location, Mailchimp also streamlined the look of the email blasts into something more cohesive in appearance and accessible for screenreaders. Mailchimp also has a useful feature to implement your social media campaigns directly from your email campaigns, so that you can keep track of the messages you want your customers to hear in one location. Thanks to Mailchimp, I was able to accomplish my marketing campaigns in less time, freeing me up for work in other areas where my expertise is really needed. Mailchimp works for large marketing campaigns like Learfield's NCAA publications, but also for small projects I've worked with such as short film campaigns and even personal newsletters.
  • Clean designs
  • Organize marketing campaigns in one place
  • Schedule email blasts
  • Add or remove email addresses from campaign
  • Targeted marketing
  • Templates and being able to reuse your own work
  • Lacks a dark mode for users when setting up campaigns
  • Lots of options but can be overwhelming to find the specific ones you want
  • Lack of transparency on where AI-created materials come from
I recommend Mailchimp for most internet marketing campaigns. Mailchimp provides a free trial of their paid tiers, which allows you to find the right amount of features for the size of your business or audience. If you are mainly not sending email blasts, Mailchimp still has some features that can be useful to you, such as website customization, marketing design tools and advertising campaign management tools, but I would suggest a different creative program if you are not planning to take advantage of Mailchimp's email capabilities. Additionally, your budget may not allow you to pay for Mailchimp's top tier features, and you may be better served seeking alternative ways to get what you specifically need for your email blasts. Finally, Mailchimp may not be for you if you are already connected to a different email-generating service through your publishing platform or something similar. No need to buy a separate service if your website host provides what you need already.

We used it initially for email campaigns, though a bit costlier and doesn't support complex mobile app engagement options like Push notifications and in-app engagement, we planned to move out and use another tool. But it's one of the superior tools out there for your email needs, glad that they have also introduced landing page options now. Segmentation of your data is also relatively easy if you have your data stored in the right manner. I have always found the performance data to be more accurate for Mailchimp as compared to any other tool.
  • Segmentation
  • Email Marketing
  • Landing Pages
  • Costing
  • Mobile Engagement
  • Customer Behaviour Reports
For businesses on websites, focused only on Email Marketing Experiences and collecting data from that. Not very useful for mobile app companies given that you will end up using more tools. I have used this for the e-commerce brands that use Shopify, Woocommerce and even Magento. I struggled using this for app-based brands.

As an agency it is great to have a platform that can be used with many different clients with different instances. It would be used for emails and automated workflows as well as audience management.
  • Organises data well and allows for exports
  • Great interface with drag and drop
  • Tells you if something is wrong before proceeding, great flags
  • Follow-ups- I feel there isn't always the option I want for logic
I think it works really well for a small business starting out and can have a place to hold data securely. It has great options for confirmed-opt in processes as well. I really like the automation although I think this can be quite complicated so with any version it needs some training. Although we were using the free version due to the amount of contacts I think we have a paid version now.

A very user friendly service that has depth that you need when you need it.

This gave us the ability to contact the customer segments that we needed on an as and when basis without a huge commitment in terms of time and expenditure, but also gave us the option to run more complex larger campaigns where needed.

We moved away from another product which was a much higher investment and commitment and we didn't have the business need for this level of continued engagement at that time. Mailchimp let us use it in a flexible way as the demands of the business changed over time.
  • Great user Interface
  • Excellent feature set and suggested solution set in a proactive way
  • Import and export of data made hassle free and very visible
  • Modular flexible pricing plan
  • Easily segment campaigns and sectors of customer/prospects
  • Strong Automation features
  • Campaign Lists view could handle large volumes of Campaign display better
  • The Structure of building templates and unsubscribe elements can be confusing
For sporadic email campaigns for certain segments of our customer base this was perfect as the pricing was based on the contacts you upload (Standard Licence). However for larger more persistent databases of contacts this would likely end up a lot more pricier and more of an ongoing comittment.

Mailchimp is a staple in our publishing business. We use landing pages and pop-ups to collect customer data, who sign up to our mailing list to receive industry updates and the latest news. As a publishing business, a large chunk of our profits come from sponsorships and advertising. Growing our email database is a fantastic way for us to sponsor relevant adverts to high-interest customers. We implement this across our social media and website, which we find Mailchimp integrates with just about every platform we have come across.
  • Integrates with most other platforms
  • Had advanced data entry fields for collection of additional information
  • Easy-to-use drag-and-drop builder
  • The drag-and-drop builder can be a bit basic - some of the customizations could be improved
  • The free plan is used to send automated welcome emails, now this is not a feature unless you upgrade
  • It's very similar to a lot of other email marketing systems out there - for the price you pay, it would be nice to see Mailchimp offer something more advanced
Mailchimp's deliverability is really good and the analytics you get are really useful. The price point makes it hard to choose Mailchimp over some of the other email marketing platforms which seem to have better design customization options. I never had an issue integrating Mailchimp with any of the programs or platforms we use as a business. I would like to have SMS options as most others do now. As a publication business, we are very design-led. Mailchimp has very limited fonts to use compared to others.

I use MailChimp for a few of my clients who send email newsletters to their customers on a regular basis.
  • Creates audience segments using tags
  • Easy to read reporting after each campaign is complete
  • The email design interface is not the easiest to use
  • I'd love to be able to see a preview in the same window where I am editing; maybe something you can click and it expands, but you don't have to leave the editor.

We currently use Mailchimp to gather data through online forms and send bulk emails to announce events and other happenings within the organization. Mailchimp is a wonderful tool and a great value. The tracking and analytics are invaluable as we try to manage our user and donor base more effectively.
  • Easy to design emails
  • Easy to manage users
  • Easy to set up online forms to grow our email database
  • Navigation around the admin interface is a little bit tricky, but once you learn it, you can navigate fairly easily.
I have already recommended Mailchimp multiple times to clients and friends because of its ease of use and great feature set, especially considering the reasonable price. There are also some nice integrations to make things work seamlessly between other products and online services. Mailchimp has become my 'go-to' email marketing system.

I like Mailchimp because the interface is simple and customizable, It’s free, and the analytics are very detailed. Mailchimp is an email marketing platform that enables marketing automation and growth. Key features include automation and email marketing, social media marketing, subscription forms, and more. For small businesses like mine, Mailchimp is the most affordable marketing automation tool available - perfect for startups.

This is an essential tool to create and manage mailing lists and newsletters, as well as automate email campaigns and collect leads. After implementing this my business performance has increased rapidly.
  • Fast mail delivery
  • High mail delivery rate
  • Very less mail delivery in Spam folder
  • Easy to use
  • MailChimp does not provide many customization options
  • We cannot change the colour or font size of the email signatures
  • MailChimp lacks automation features
  • Need to do a lot of customization if I want the emails to look professional
I really like the key features like automation and email marketing, social media marketing, subscription forms, and more. It is more suitable for small businesses and it is the most affordable marketing automation tool available. MailChimp does not provide many customization options. By sending personalized emails to our customers, we are able to provide them with a better user experience and keep them engaged with our platform - we even experiment with different groups based on their psychometrics so it's helpful to send multiple cohorts slightly different versions so messages appeal to them. Additionally, we also use Mailchimp to communicate with brands and encourage them to use the NEON ID platform for more surveys, to ask questions, and to interact with users who provide their consent.
We value Mailchimp's compliance with GDPR and CCPA, which is why we chose to use the tool. The privacy and security of our users' data is a top priority for us, and Mailchimp's respect for these regulations is a huge deal for us. However, we do not use many of the extra tools that Mailchimp offers because we have HubSpot for CRM. We don't want Mailchimp to keep building out competitive work, and HubSpot provides us with everything we need to manage our customer relationships effectively.
Overall, Mailchimp has been a valuable tool for us at NEON ID, helping us to maintain a strong relationship with our customers and brands while keeping their data secure and private.
  • Parse mailing lists
  • Keep on white lists for email
  • Making it quick to send a mass email
  • Stop trying to be a full marketing suite - this distracts from the core marketing automation
  • More integrations with new AI tools
  • The UI needs a refresh, it feels outdated and slow
Mailchimp as a free or low-cost solution for small businesses to get an email newsletter or regular comms with customers out is a winner. The simplicity of adding a CSV of people and building an email in the app is good, although it feels like it's gotten slower with the acquisition.

Mailchimp as a CRM and a market platform is too much. I prefer an approach that links the best of the best apps together with integrations as opposed to building out every one of these apps into superapps that do all things.

Also, Mailchimp feels like it is nickel-and-diming us a lot now. Not a fan of that.

I use Mailchimp to send out regular newsletters to my subscribers and clients. In it, I often talk about my new videos or blog posts, I talk about offers and discounts, and occasional nuggets of information and knowledge. My work is all about consulting with my clients on various issues, and I also teach and mentor students who want to learn to do what I do. I use Mailchimp to create and send out nice newsletters to all of them. I have a WordPress website, and I use some really nice plugins to implement sign-up forms on my site. Plus, the newsletters are also mobile-friendly, which means my subscribers can read them on their computers or phones, wherever they prefer.
  • Email Series that introduces a new subscriber to my products & services.
  • An intuitive & user-friendly method to design your newsletter.
  • A nice way for people who have a smaller subscriber base to run a newsletter service.
  • In the free plan, one can only have one mailing list. It shouldn't matter as long as you don't exceed a certain total subscriber count.
  • It isn't easy to change the content and email sequences of introductory email series.
Mailchimp is a great starting point for anyone who wants to start running a newsletter -- especially if they don't have many subscribers. While it is easy to upgrade, it may not be necessary if you don't have more than a certain number of subscribers. However, if you need to reach out more frequently or have more subscribers, you may want to look at the paid plan. The free plan won't be enough.

We used Mailchimp is a robust email marketing platform that supports our business. It is a top marketing automation platform that offers template design, campaign testing, and on-the-go reports. Its free plan provides segmentation, basic automation, and pre-designed templates, while paid plans offer split testing, custom automation workflows, and advanced targeting. Tracking and follow-up are easy, and campaigns are ethical and have a great delivery rate.
  • Integration and usability.
  • Excellent marketing automation.
  • Email templates are plentiful.
  • Simple drag-and-drop editor.
  • Excellent reporting and design.
  • Archiving contacts is manual.
  • Email data needs to be clarified and detailed.
  • Its metrics are inaccurate, and it needs more automation.
Mailchimp is a powerful campaign setup tool with features like template design, campaign testing, and on-the-go reports. It offers a friendly UI, customization options, email deliverability, and easy setup. Its server sends emails without blocking the domain, improving email deliverability and reducing server load. However, it lacks automation, segmentation alternatives, and A/B testing.

We use Mailchimp as a way to generate leads through custom forms embedded on websites. Easy to customize and easy to implement, Mailchimp is usually our top choice when suggesting a company's first lead generation form. Clients looking to build a mailing list or to target visitors interested in products or services can use Mailchimp to build a free list of potential clients.
  • Easy form building gets you up and running quickly.
  • Segmentation of contacts allows for grouping of contacts for email blasts.
  • Drag 'n drop email builders can create industry standard emails that look great.
  • Embed codes for websites which can be easily copy and pasted onto websites for instant usage.
  • Pricing structure could be adjusted. The jump from Free to Essentials may be overkill for some clients who don't need the extra send capacity, but want access to A/B testing, etc.
  • Other lead generator / email capture software allow for better HTML / customization of emails campaigns.
Mailchimp is well suited to companies / individuals who want to capture emails via form on their website or a link in an email. Mailchimp is relatively easy to set up and manage. They also have decent reporting tools and segregation tools. The email visual builder is fairly decent as well. Overall, it's a great 'first' lead capture tool while you're still figuring out what you really need.

We use Mailchimp to invite pasts guests to upcoming events. Instead of mass BCC emailing hundreds of people we use Mailchimp. It is the best service we have found but leaves a lot to hope for. Before Covid, we were using it at least twice per month for invitations. It's been very useful and satisfactory but hard to work with in terms of creating repeating events versus having to duplicate an event and send the invite again for the next event. It's not very intuitive even for someone who has spent the bulk of their working career using the internet. We continue to use it but wish it would get better.
  • Bulk invites.
  • Importing contacts.
  • Handling bulk activities.
  • Creating invite.
  • User Interface.
  • Creating repeating events.
We really like the ability Mailchimp gives us to mass email event invites to past attendees. It's great for that but lacks ease of use in creating the invitation itself. Additionally, we struggle to easily invite people using the same invitation to the next event. It's just not a simple straightforward process. We've run probably at least 50 events and still have a hard time with the software, but it's the cheapest and best option we've been able to find.
