Mailchimp has given a significant boost to our customer engagement and brand awareness. It is terribly amazing with its powerful analytics & well- designed templates that are also optimised for mobile devices. It has substantially helped us to strategise & fast track our email marketing approach. The email builder allows us to drag & drop the elements, themes, text and create unique & and relevant mailers in a professional style.
  • Free to use
  • Robust Automation
  • Simple Interface
  • Detailed Analytics
  • Customer Segmentation
  • Limitation on advanced features in free plan
  • Lacking customer support
  • Learning curve
With Mailchimp we are able to revive and enhance our personal connect with the customers. The easy-to-use tools allows us to personalize the email content, segregate and target important leads & send relevant messages. Also, it offers interactive analysis on the performance of a particular campaign. We can judge the effectiveness of our mailers in real time.

We are using Mailchimp for email marketing and website automation. Using its drag and drop editor, the marketing team and the customer teams are able to quickly create responsive email designs and then blast it to the relevant audience by quickly uploading database of audience emails into the platform. The platform is very easy to use and offers deep analytics capabilities. Similarly, we use it to create landing pages for the campaigns and test and analyse their performance.
  • Responsive Email Design
  • Email marketing and analytics
  • Webpages creation
  • Database management and cleaning
  • Form management
  • Customer support is not at all active
Very well suited to quickly create and launch new email campaigns, build responsive designs and test them. It is also very easy to build pages and start active campaigns to generate more buzz and leads.

We use Mailchimp to contact customers who have signed up to a newsletter as well as for marketing purposes.
  • Storage and management of email lists in different categories
  • Integration with website forms to capture and store contact details
  • Clear, easy to use data on mailing success etc.
  • As a small company it would be good to have more flexible invoicing dependent on use.
  • It is not always clear on how to manage lists
  • Easier explanations on the type of sign up or storage of a contact
It works very well when sending out newsletters and to be able to tweak the newsletter for different audiences.
As a small company it can be difficult to know whether we are getting value for money as we do not send mailing on a frequent basis. Maybe there could be a pricing model based on usage?

We love using Mailchimp. I have used other email marketing systems in the past and by far Mailchimp is the easiest to use. I can create beautiful templates, add images with a click, create a customer journey and update it anytime, schedule an email to go out later, and even find the best time to send it! I also like that there are web versions of the email saved so if I need to send to someone specifically, I can just send them a link.
  • Format new templates
  • Create an audience and save for later
  • Include links to social pages that are always there for me
  • Add images, buttons, headers, footers, links and more
  • A report of users that have unsubscribed
  • Additional emojis
We use Mailchimp for all of our email campaigns, both one-off campaigns and customer journeys. It works great for all of the needs that we currently have.

We used it initially for email campaigns, though a bit costlier and doesn't support complex mobile app engagement options like Push notifications and in-app engagement, we planned to move out and use another tool. But it's one of the superior tools out there for your email needs, glad that they have also introduced landing page options now. Segmentation of your data is also relatively easy if you have your data stored in the right manner. I have always found the performance data to be more accurate for Mailchimp as compared to any other tool.
  • Segmentation
  • Email Marketing
  • Landing Pages
  • Costing
  • Mobile Engagement
  • Customer Behaviour Reports
For businesses on websites, focused only on Email Marketing Experiences and collecting data from that. Not very useful for mobile app companies given that you will end up using more tools. I have used this for the e-commerce brands that use Shopify, Woocommerce and even Magento. I struggled using this for app-based brands.

Mailchimp is a staple in our publishing business. We use landing pages and pop-ups to collect customer data, who sign up to our mailing list to receive industry updates and the latest news. As a publishing business, a large chunk of our profits come from sponsorships and advertising. Growing our email database is a fantastic way for us to sponsor relevant adverts to high-interest customers. We implement this across our social media and website, which we find Mailchimp integrates with just about every platform we have come across.
  • Integrates with most other platforms
  • Had advanced data entry fields for collection of additional information
  • Easy-to-use drag-and-drop builder
  • The drag-and-drop builder can be a bit basic - some of the customizations could be improved
  • The free plan is used to send automated welcome emails, now this is not a feature unless you upgrade
  • It's very similar to a lot of other email marketing systems out there - for the price you pay, it would be nice to see Mailchimp offer something more advanced
Mailchimp's deliverability is really good and the analytics you get are really useful. The price point makes it hard to choose Mailchimp over some of the other email marketing platforms which seem to have better design customization options. I never had an issue integrating Mailchimp with any of the programs or platforms we use as a business. I would like to have SMS options as most others do now. As a publication business, we are very design-led. Mailchimp has very limited fonts to use compared to others.

We currently use Mailchimp to gather data through online forms and send bulk emails to announce events and other happenings within the organization. Mailchimp is a wonderful tool and a great value. The tracking and analytics are invaluable as we try to manage our user and donor base more effectively.
  • Easy to design emails
  • Easy to manage users
  • Easy to set up online forms to grow our email database
  • Navigation around the admin interface is a little bit tricky, but once you learn it, you can navigate fairly easily.
I have already recommended Mailchimp multiple times to clients and friends because of its ease of use and great feature set, especially considering the reasonable price. There are also some nice integrations to make things work seamlessly between other products and online services. Mailchimp has become my 'go-to' email marketing system.

We are trying to transition to using SMS and MMS for one of our client's. I have reached out via Mailchimp chat for over 3 days to get pricing and the application processed. I have been promised for 3 days that someone would email me because the sale people on the chat cannot handle SMS communication. I had already filled out the SMS application and it is now 4 days later and no communication from them via email. I have checked spam nothing there either. I have received emails that they will contact me also and still NOTHING!!! I guess additional business and money is something they do not want. They certainly do not seem to care about customer service. Will have to find a new service to use. Your loss Mailchimp. You might want to consider hiring sales reps that do want to make sales.

  • Customer Service

  • Stop Lying about contacting clients
No thank you. I am not happy with them. Not going to give positives when I have nothing but negatives.

At NEON ID, we use Mailchimp as a tool for mass mailing to customers and communicating with brands. We mainly use Mailchimp to bring our customers back to the NEON ID platform to conduct more brand interactions. By sending personalized emails to our customers, we are able to provide them with a better user experience and keep them engaged with our platform - we even experiment with different groups based on their psychometrics so it's helpful to send multiple cohorts slightly different versions so messages appeal to them. Additionally, we also use Mailchimp to communicate with brands and encourage them to use the NEON ID platform for more surveys, to ask questions, and to interact with users who provide their consent.
We value Mailchimp's compliance with GDPR and CCPA, which is why we chose to use the tool. The privacy and security of our users' data is a top priority for us, and Mailchimp's respect for these regulations is a huge deal for us. However, we do not use many of the extra tools that Mailchimp offers because we have HubSpot for CRM. We don't want Mailchimp to keep building out competitive work, and HubSpot provides us with everything we need to manage our customer relationships effectively.
Overall, Mailchimp has been a valuable tool for us at NEON ID, helping us to maintain a strong relationship with our customers and brands while keeping their data secure and private.
  • Parse mailing lists
  • Keep on white lists for email
  • Making it quick to send a mass email
  • Stop trying to be a full marketing suite - this distracts from the core marketing automation
  • More integrations with new AI tools
  • The UI needs a refresh, it feels outdated and slow
Mailchimp as a free or low-cost solution for small businesses to get an email newsletter or regular comms with customers out is a winner. The simplicity of adding a CSV of people and building an email in the app is good, although it feels like it's gotten slower with the acquisition.

Mailchimp as a CRM and a market platform is too much. I prefer an approach that links the best of the best apps together with integrations as opposed to building out every one of these apps into superapps that do all things.

Also, Mailchimp feels like it is nickel-and-diming us a lot now. Not a fan of that.

I use Mailchimp to send out regular newsletters to my subscribers and clients. In it, I often talk about my new videos or blog posts, I talk about offers and discounts, and occasional nuggets of information and knowledge. My work is all about consulting with my clients on various issues, and I also teach and mentor students who want to learn to do what I do. I use Mailchimp to create and send out nice newsletters to all of them. I have a WordPress website, and I use some really nice plugins to implement sign-up forms on my site. Plus, the newsletters are also mobile-friendly, which means my subscribers can read them on their computers or phones, wherever they prefer.
  • Email Series that introduces a new subscriber to my products & services.
  • An intuitive & user-friendly method to design your newsletter.
  • A nice way for people who have a smaller subscriber base to run a newsletter service.
  • In the free plan, one can only have one mailing list. It shouldn't matter as long as you don't exceed a certain total subscriber count.
  • It isn't easy to change the content and email sequences of introductory email series.
Mailchimp is a great starting point for anyone who wants to start running a newsletter -- especially if they don't have many subscribers. While it is easy to upgrade, it may not be necessary if you don't have more than a certain number of subscribers. However, if you need to reach out more frequently or have more subscribers, you may want to look at the paid plan. The free plan won't be enough.

We use Mailchimp to send emails on behalf of our client. The emails being sent are to confirm a customer's certificate of coverage once they purchase a protection plan for their appliances or electronics. The reason we chose Mailchimp for this implementation was because the client was previously sending plain text emails through a backend process (not using an email marketing application) and they wanted to upgrade their emails to look more visually pleasing. Since the current product we were using for our clients was for very extensive marketing emails (which is not what these emails are) and came with a hefty fee, we knew they wouldn't want to use that option - so we decided on Mailchimp which had a very reasonable price point for the kind of emails we were looking to send (transactional emails). We also knew that with using Mailchimp we would be able to get everything set up by ourselves and much faster than if we were to try to use our current email marketing application, which as I mentioned was very extensive and required us to put in custom requests for their internal team to complete on their timeline.
  • Very affordable with many different plan options to choose from
  • Great template editor for designing emails
  • Has a great UX/UI design that makes it easy to use and learn the tool
  • The customer service could be better, unless you pay a premium fee you are only able to get help through email - no phone calls.
  • Even though we did pay a premium to be able to request help through phone calls, it was still a bit hard to get an appointment set to do so.
  • Since Mailchimp is a huge email marketing application with millions of users, you have to go into it knowing that features/services won't be changed upon request and if an issue was coming from a small account it wouldn't be of enough relevance for them to necessarily take action on it.
Mailchimp is excellent for a company/user that is wanting to quickly and easily set up email campaigns all on their own, even if they have little prior experience doing so - and especially if they are on a budget. The email templates allow the emails to look professional without having to hire an outside designer or coder and the user interface makes it easy to understand the application without being the most tech-savvy person in the world. Mailchimp would be a less suited for a company/user that was sending out complex emails that require a lot of data and variable logic connected to them. It also wouldn't be so much suited for a company/user that is expecting to have any custom-made requirements or a dedicated account representative that is on standby to take questions/requests.

Potential customers usually find us by searching on Google but after they've found us we want to build a lasting relationship and strengthen our brand. So to avoid that people visit the website and after they've read the information they forget us we use our newsletter to keep providing valuable information so they become gradually more aware of our initiative and what we can offer as value to them.
  • Integrations with a multitude of plugins and web applications via its API
  • Digests of RSS feeds
  • Flexible anotation with additional information about subscribers
  • Email flows are not as flexible as I would like them to be - alternative email service providers have better solutions.
  • Backwards compatibility - once something is configured, especially for the flows I expect them to work as they should - since they've added features suddenly older email flows stopped working reliably - support couldn't really find the root cause.
  • When I started using the product 10 years ago, the system was simple to use. Today lots of features that I'm not using were added making the system more complex in its use.
  • Since the acquisition from the founders to Intuit, I feel the focus has shifted to increasing prices while the value from my perspective hasn't changed much.
Well suited:

- Ecommerce type of businesses can benefit because features were added to help business owners maximize the shopping cart value and avoid shopping cart abandonment.
- Simple newsletters based on RSS feeds or manually written

Less suited:

- Advanced email flows (if-then-else) based on visitors actions on websites are difficult to implement.
- Difficult to use as a email system to support staying in touch with users of a SaaS application you've developed.

In my organization, we use Mailchimp to send out weekly, monthly, and quarterly updates about our account and the state of our clients' work. By using Mailchimp, we are able to address the need for updating the entire 900+ person account about the scope of our work and any pressing updates.
  • Mailchimp has a easy to use user interface
  • Mail can be sent to many users
  • The free version has all needed capabilities
  • It would be helpful if there were more design features on Mailchimp
  • I would like to be able to have multiple users on an account at one time
  • It would be helpful to receive updates about new functionality
Mailchimp is well suited for a scenario in which you are seeking to send out newsletters that can be easily constructed to multiple users within your organization. Using the simple user interface, you can easily send out newsletters on your desired cadence. Mailchimp is less suitable should you desire to collaborate with co-workers on the newsletter.

Our email marketing strategy was based on the service provided by Mailchimp. Mailchimp's email templates allowed us to send mass emails based on the templates we've set up. Running a campaign and sending marketing emails is a good idea. For example, we can see how many people clicked on a link in the newsletter or responded to a campaign.
  • With Mailchimp, creating new email templates is a breeze.
  • The user lists are kept in a single location.
  • Detailed reports provide us a deeper understanding of the situation.
  • It would be great if the email template edit screen didn't save automatically.
  • It is possible to enhance various marketing forms such as a/b testing, social media emails, and so on.
  • The OTP might take a long time to arrive when asked for during the login process.
The best part is that it's completely free for up to 10,000 emails each month. There are several templates that we may customize, and it just needs a basic understanding of HTML and CSS. Sending out daily or weekly newsletters for new products or events is an excellent use of the Mailchimp service. E-commerce systems like Shopify can benefit greatly from the use of this technology for email marketing. Small enterprises will benefit greatly from this.

We are using Mailchimp for email marketing. We are defining email templates provided by Mailchimp, that help us to send bulk emails on that defined template. It is beneficial to run a campaign and send marketing newsletters. The reporting is very lovely; we can check how many people respond to a campaign or click on a link embedded in the newsletter.
  • Email Marketing
  • Bulk Email
  • New Letter Creation
  • Cost is too much
  • They can provide better interface.
  • Support needs to improve.
The best thing is that it is free for up to 10 thousand emails in a month. It provides a number of templates that we can edit, it just requires little knowledge of HTML and CSS. If we have to provide a newsletter for new offers or any event every day or week then Mailchimp is a good option. It is one of the best tools available for email marketing for niche-based e-commerce applications like Shopify. This is very helpful in promoting small businesses.

We used Mailchimp to deliver infrequent updates to members of our newsletter. Our mobile app would send out emails related to early access and beta test updates, as well as company-wide news related to the app. We only used Mailchimp about once and every 6 weeks to send an email, and to no more than 3,000 subscribers at a time.
  • Incredibly easy to use interface
  • Tons of tutorials and help resources
  • Easy integration with GDPR
  • The pricing structure is not ideal for infrequent newsletters with a large amount of subscribers
  • Pricing is confusing and challenging to understand
  • The editor is buggy, still, after years of using it
Mailchimp is a great solution if email marketing is a necessity for your business. If you are sending frequent, weekly (at least) newsletters, then Mailchimp is both a reliable and cost-effective tool. If you are like us, however, sending infrequent emails, the monthly pricing structure is prohibitively expensive and not ideal for our use case.

I use Mailchimp to write newsletters to my audience. I have about 600 emails shared between 3 lists which I created prior to Mailchimp changing their terms and only granting one list with the free account. My business helps people who want to adopt healthy habits to feel energized in their mind-body and stop getting caught in the self-sabotaging habits of a chaotic mind.
  • Linking with other applications integrations.
  • Organizing audiences.
  • Landing pages.
  • When writing content, the interface isn't user-friendly for fonts and settings.
  • I'd like to create more than one list with the free plan.
  • Inserting first names in the text isn't being displayed in the test email. I've had several occasions where the </> the frame was present in the test email. But when the real email was sent, it read as "Dear " with no first name even though I had inserted it. That's been very frustrating.
Great for small business owners and people who write in one language only. It's also great to integrate with many different applications so that when someone schedules an appointment on my Calendly for example, they get automatically added to my Mailchimp list. Not so great for someone who wants to have a landing page with a paying feature for an event or a service for example.

Our organization uses Mailchimp for our email marketing campaigns. We are able to provide the customer base for each client with deals and information specific to each of our clients. It helps increase website traffic and new patient and new customer interactions. It's so helpful to have an email platform that allows you to create emails that are specific to the needs of our clients.
  • Can send email to large contact lists all at once
  • Can create automated emails
  • Provides data regarding email success/responsiveness
  • A more responsive support team when issues arise
  • Analytics can be complicated
  • Webforms could use an update
Mailchimp is a great tool that offers simplicity when learning how to use and utilize its tools but also provides extensive data and tools for those wishing to get a deeper understanding of email marketing campaigns. We've been able to train some of our clients to use it and then also provide detailed data back to them when needed.

We use Mailchimp for our own email marketing as well as for small business clients. It is easy to deploy, train on and use for novice clients who want to manage their own email marketing. Automation and other tools in the Mailchimp system give users high-end email marketing capabilities at a low cost.
  • Sending bulk emails.
  • Accessible to novice users.
  • Deep levels of customizability.
  • List management.
  • Deliverability management.
  • Web forms can be difficult to customize in some ways for more technical implementations.
  • Analytics could be easier to use.
Mailchimp is ideal for small to midsize businesses where your marketing staff is able to do a lot with little support. Mailchimp can’t adorably scale to an enterprise-level, but there may be things about that I have not seen just yet in my usage. As a design agency, switching between customers was made a lot better but it still needs work.

I use Mailchimp with my clients to send out email campaigns, capture leads, and segment their databases. We've used automation and journeys as well, which were both connected to a lead capture form and/or landing page, or not connected at all. The typical database size I worked with inside Mailchimp was 5,000 to 50,000 addresses.
  • Lead forms and landing pages are easy to create and manage.
  • It's possible to customize the email templates within the HTML for a truly custom experience if wanted.
  • The option to use journeys, which is available in most of the larger email platforms like HubSpot or SalesForce Marketing Cloud, is really handy, and much more affordable than using some of the larger platforms.
  • It easily integrates with most other major digital tools.
  • List segmentation is a total pain. The need to use a master list and then assign tags isn't clear to new users.
  • It's not clear when to use an old automation versus a new journey.
  • The difference between groups and segments is not clear. The documentation should be updated to state that a segment is a sub-set of the contact database that's based on subscriber actions. Where groups are options you can set up in your audience settings that can be based on any criteria, and on signup forms, subscribers will also be able to see the available groups.
  • Sometimes, it's really hard to find settings. The layout of settings and options includes nested menus that vary between a left-side vertical rail, and then tabs, and the naming of the settings is pretty different compared to what things are called in most other platforms. All of that makes it hard to find things.
  • It's also frustrating that all emails need to be saved as templates if a user wants to use the email in multiple places. Sometimes, emails are for specific campaigns, and those campaigns might include a blast and a drip option, but in order to use the email in two different streams, it has to be saved as a template, which also makes it more cumbersome to update during the campaign setup process.
For clients who have a relatively small database (less than 10,000 contacts) and a limited budget, Mailchimp is a great choice. But if more complex automation is needed, or more complex segmentation, I recommend going with HubSpot.

Our organization has been using Mailchimp to send mass emails to our subscribers. It has allowed us to run automated and targeted email campaigns giving us more sales with very little effort. Mailchimp features beautifully designed email templates that can be quickly customized to fit any type of sales or marketing campaign. It has integrated features for advertising on Facebook and Instagram, retargeting ads, social media automation, and website design making it a complete digital marketing solution for any business. Mailchimp offers integration with 250+ applications, a full-featured mobile app, and an award-winning 24/7 support service.
  • Runs mass email campaigns, tracks delivery, and open and click-through rate
  • Grow and manage subscribers list, segment them with automated targeting
  • Offers a large collection of beautiful email templates suitable for all kinds of sales and marketing needs
  • Offers a generous free plan for starters with 2000 contacts and 10,000 emails per month
  • Mailchimp cannot be hosted on a private server. No guarantee of privacy.
  • The user experience can be improved to make workflow easier and faster.
Mailchimp is well suited for sending large volumes of targeted emails, growing and managing email contacts, tracking email delivery rates, and automating the whole process to grow business revenue. It is a software as a service platform, so you can't guarantee the privacy of your information, which makes it less appropriate where privacy is a primary concern.

Currently, Mailchimp is used to provide newsletters and communication about products and services to customers and subscribers.
  • Organize subscriber information
  • Integrates with other applications/systems seamlessly
  • Offers several useful tools/marketing techniques
  • Customizable and scalable based on the user’s knowledge
  • The API toolkit could be a bit more applicable for non-tech/developers to use.
  • I would like more controls over customizable HTML features (font, colors, etc.).
Mailchimp is great to integrate with several major e-commerce sites (e.g., Shopify, WooCommerce, etc.) and allows for easy capturing and organizing contact info to automate marketing strategies. Mailchimp would be a more attractive product if they could expand template options and offer more templates for more industries. They have a good base for fashion and blog audiences, but it would be even more attractive if they could expand to other industries.

We use Mailchimp for regular newsletters and abandoned cart reminders. Newsletters are sent twice per month and we use also some automation to welcome new users and provide them an introduction about our company and what we do. Mailchimp has solved our needs for a newsletter platform, assuring us the best rating of our emails (i.e. very low risk of being put in spam by receiver systems) and providing us useful statistics.
  • Ease of use
  • Trust
  • Statistics
  • Template and email editors
  • Automation
  • Integrations
  • Pricing
  • Translation in other languages
Mailchimp is the best solution for most scenarios. The main problems are costs: if you have less than 2000 subscribers you can use the "free" edition and everything is under control. But once you go over 2000 subscribers costs can be very high. No matter if you have a very low open rate, you will pay for each subscriber.

We use MailChimp internally and also recommend it to our clients, where appropriate. It's a great way for clients to get into email marketing with minimal commitment as they learn the ropes and grow their subscriber list. As their needs and subscriber base grows, MailChimp can grow with them. Internally, just our marketing department uses it, and we find the same is true with our clients. MailChimp helps solves the business problem of how to stay in touch with your audience reliably and affordable.
  • Mobile-friendly email templates -- You can always trust that MailChimp's templates will work well across the most common email clients and devices. Much more efficient than hand-coding!
  • Easy-to-use WYSIWYG editors -- You can do almost anything you want in an email with MailChimp's easy WYSIWYG interface.
  • Customizing the sign-up process -- You can brand each page and make it look good while still keeping it streamlined.
  • I think the pop-ups (to encourage users to sign up to your mailing list) could have more flexibility in their design. I was designing one the other day and it had limited choices for the image sizes, so I had to play around with it quite a bit to get it to look good.
  • It's great that they now integrate with Facebook Ads but the reporting is really basic and I find it hard to make changes mid-campaign. For example, I have not been able to find aggregate stats -- I have to hover over the number of each day in the chart and add up the stats for the month. And you cannot extend a campaign more than 3 days before it ends, so you better remember to mark your calendar and update it before it ends with you!
  • The list segmenting is pretty basic. I can do a few of the things I want but nothing too complex at the same time.
I think MailChimp is perfect for small business and newbies because it's the easiest email marketing platform around. You can get up and running quickly and affordably (in most cases even free) and try things out. So many times clients think they want a huge marketing automation platform, and while that could be right for them, I think it's better to start with small, achievable goals and go from there. Send your first email. Get your first subscriber form in place. Learn the ropes and see what works for your business. Then decide if you want to upgrade to MailChimp's more robust features or perhaps graduate to a different (more expensive) platform. For a large business or one with a lot of experience in email marketing, I still think MailChimp can be great because it's very powerful and integrates with nearly everything.
