I am a member of a tech startup which offers unique projects that are difficult to keep track of. Our team has several levels of experience with using applications and the user friendly interface has all of employees engaging with our company's platform from day 1.
  • Friendly to non-technical folks
  • Allows for teams to interact on a workspace
  • Variety in the type of columns
  • Offering a IDE and marketplace for customization
  • The use of activity log not being able to be exported, some of our users added data to the activity log and as a result have accidentally created a data lake on the application
It is well suited for work management. It is not a good stand in for RDS or a traditional mySQL database.

Project management, task flow / work-flow management and time tracking as well as a Key Performance matrix with a scorecard for each team member to record their own scores for performance management.
  • Simple and easy to use
  • Excellent support and how to video's and articles
  • Integration with Google is great
  • Ease of reporting and tracking - Export to Excel
  • Mobile app also easy to use and quick to update
  • Ensuring I have set up a Private board vs public board is not clear - it would be useful to have an additional alert when creating a board as I work with sensitive information. It will eventually be used in a team based environment but while I test the boards, they needs to be private.
  • Time tracking is clumsy, could be easier to record
monday.com has very clear default views that are easy to follow, simple to update and amend. Automations are really easy to set up, but you need a good idea of what you want to do and the order it needs to be done in. The options available on Automations are improving all the time.

monday.com sits perfectly in-between having a pre-built off the shelf program and building your own from scratch. It's flexible enough so you can build your products yourself without relying on external developers. And it is high level enough so it's easy to pick up and teach yourself how to use it. I am completely self-taught and have built boards that now support various teams with project management, operational flow, a Llama farm (I'm not joking, check it out). And I'm not the only one.
  • Easy to pick up
  • Online community
  • Flexible
  • Provides built-in examples
  • Importing data to existing boards from outside of monday.com where there is no integration, e.g. Excel. When I try to update some field in bulk, it creates new items.
  • Pricing for Enterprise is very expensive. Similar products can be found at half the price. That said, I know monday.com is certainly the best product.

We use monday.com across our entire business to keep track of work deliverables in a coordinated, ordered and accountable fashion. Since our organisation adheres to the ISO 31000 risk management framework, we get to break down objectives in monday.com into specific, measurable, attainable, relevant and timebound sub-objectives. In this way monday.com facilitates our creation and maintenance of value. Without monday.com, or using alternative products (with one competitor product excepted), we would deliver less value and deliver slower.
  • Allows for customisation in terms of our risk management framework
  • Outlines outstanding work under "My Work"
  • Allows for notification of colleagues in an clean and smooth way.
  • The billing model is awful for small businesses! monday.com makes you feel like they are doing you a favour. You literally pay for seats you don't use. The billing model should be a per seat model!
  • There are too many addons from monday.com and 3rd party vendors that you have to pay for. The value of those addons is debatable are often rebuildable outside of monday.com in a single use spreadsheet (which pay monthly for an addon that you only need to use once in a while?) or organisations are already using something else in their tech stack for that addon.
If you are looking to bring order to deliverables across your organisation, then monday.com is a good starting point. But the billing framework at the small business end is a detractor - monday.com only makes best money sense when you start using it with 20 seats on an enterprise licence so you have to have very good reasons to use it if you have no need for 20 seats.

We track projects, deliverables, bits of data, parties, events, and even more compliance and governance matters. Notably, monday.com is used by Project Managers and non-Project Managers. monday.com found a deep following within our organizations. Primarily because it is simple for all to implement. However, it is also implemented org-wide because it is colorful. We found color drives acceptance amongst our creatives.
  • Fast creation of a task list
  • Easy build-out of columns and details
  • Quick, colorful visualizations
  • Support Team is quick and responsive
  • List of 3rd-Party add-ins is both extensive and growing
  • Sub-Tasks are not as flexible as main Tasks. For example, I cannot ROUND the summary of a set of SubTasks. So I create a Formula to ROUND the SubTasks.
monday.com is excellent for non-Project Managers who must manage projects. it is easy to start and get the Task, Work Item & Deliverable tracking you need.
monday.com is appropriate for short-term project tracking.
It is also superb as a database, similar to AirTable.
It is not for building a nuclear power plant nor traveling to the moon.

We use monday.com to manage projects and tasks. Various projects such as: art design, group formation, and people management. It helps us ensure that no one falls through the cracks in our pathways and pipelines. It provides peer accountability because others can see the deadlines associated with a task. It helps anticipate milestones with creative design.
  • User Experience (UX)
  • App, Mobile, and Web Experience
  • Team Collboration
  • The inbox feature can get a little backed up. It's helpful to reduce notifications.
  • Reduce pricing per user.
monday.com is fantastic for remote teams. Teams can collaborate on the platform from wherever they are on whatever device & platform they are using. However, monday.com is great for in-person teams. Coming out of a meeting, monday.com will help with assigning action items (projects, tasks, sub-tasks) to the appropriate person.

We are using monday.com for program management and also as a tool to manage documents for internal use. It assists the project team in planning work and is also being used to collaborate and exchange information. It is a good tool used by senior management to look at a bird's eye view of how a project is performing
  • I like the flexibility of monday.com to specify custom fields and types of fields. One can have as many fields as necessary including different types of fields
  • I like the automation feature that creates tasks automatically or updates tasks automatically
  • I like the dashboard feature
  • I would like monday.com to improve the functionality to inherit permissions from the master board. Every time a new board is created, permissions need to be set
  • it would be great to allow boards to have boards within them. Currently we can have as many boards but not boards within boards
  • It could have more folders. Only maximum 2 folders are allowed
  • It could have better subtask functionality. If sub tasks are created, there are lot of clicks and scrolling
Monday.com is good for managing tasks but as far as project management or program management, I would lean towards Wrike or Asana. The hierarchy in monday.com can be improved.

We use Monday.com for project management. We can track the progress of a job from start to finish and updates are in real time. As our company grew and we opened up other offices we were finding it difficult to keep up with where everyone was on the project and what still needed to be done. The mobile app works well when you're in the field. We can input everything our field guys need when on a project.
  • Automations
  • Sends Reminders
  • Instantly updates
  • I'd like to be able to change size of the groups the way they appear on board
  • I'd like to be able to rearrange groups on board by category not just items.
  • I wish there was a person to call for questions.
We chose Monday.com for its easy setup and automation to notify the next step needed for the project and assign the people to it. It works great for project management and personal tasks. I would like to be able to organize the whole board by category but other than that, no complaints.

Well, it helps to organize the information and also share it with other teams or areas; I think that it's really great to improve the communication between areas.
  • Share information between areas.
  • Improve the organization of information.
  • Connect all the teams in the company.
  • The mirror tool, I would to use it with sub items too.
I think the best communication between areas is the same as its record of consulting the information. I can't think of scenarios that can't work.

Oh, there is no case. We simply use it to keep everything in one place, where information can be accessed by everyone. This makes it less confusing and it's been nicer with organization since we started to use it. I simply like it because I am ADD and dyslexic. This helps me so much! I confess, I am still learning as I go so I cannot give it 10 stars. People like me just have to concentrate a little harder and this CRM makes my life so much better!
  • helping with keeping track of last dates I checked something.
  • the boards have sub-boards that you can add additional information to
  • Can make your to-do list
  • can collaborate with everyone at the same time (real time)
  • I am still learning the board, simple, easy instructions could be broken down better.
  • could add a private journal section for a worker to be able to privately vent.
  • I have been frustrated with the "help" section.
It's suited for projects that different departments can use and still use one or two other boards as the real-time company board. I like the kaban boards and the to-do lists so I can remember online without looking for a list. I still prefer writing it down, but I have also been using this board in order to keep track of things personally, and also for others to see what projects are still in process or closed.

  • Keep track of evert single item
  • Automations that are a game changer
  • Intercommunication between different boards
  • Customized notifications
  • Keep everything in 1 place
  • Automations are limited to updates it woud be nice to update any siingle column if needed (tags for instance)

The creation of items on more than 1 board at the same time is helpful.

We are using it first in our service department. As a way to introduce it to our organization and see if it helps us improve: communication within the department, tracking completion rate and open service items. I have used other products, but after three weeks, this seems a better fit. We have purchased a monthly subscription and will continue to utilize it for the next 6 months. Currently, we log every address with an open service need, then add individual tasks with eta of completion. Each task has tags that can then be sorted by type of work to be done. Allowing us to determine if in-house service is going to be used or hiring out 3rd party subcontractors.
What has worked well for us is ease of use and a very low learning curve. The monthly subscription makes the entry point low enough to avoid a drawn out budget conversation.
  • Easy to create, track and share tasks
  • Turn tasks into a calendar
  • Assigning tasks to other team members
  • Easier use of automation for common groups and items
  • Possibly a column option for each item that shows the last time it has been edited/changed
We have only been using monday.com for 3 weeks, and it has been easy to switch to as a task manager. It works well for our service department as an Open Ticket tracker. It is a passive system, so it is only as useful as the person actively utilizing it and keeping it up to date.

Overall, I love the ease of use, short learning cycle, and multiple billing options. Simple is always best.

We use it to create workflows for new processes, especially processes that are likely to change often.
  • Workflows for new processes
  • Boards for tracking completion of tasks
  • Assigning tasks and notifying users of tasks
  • Connect with outlook for easy notification
  • More connections with major software products
  • EDI feeds with HCM and HRIS systems
Myself and our IT manager use it to track onboarding and offboarding tasks for employees, it's great for notifying appropriate parties in a timely manner. It's less suited for the actual employees to be able to check off items, it's more for internal use.

This is truly a software that adapts for all Business needs. We use it for project management, processes, time tracking, analytics and more. We invite our clients to view their boards to provide them with some transparency and setting expectations. Monday Docs is also a great tool, we use it with our clients for our meetings. We can create an agenda and take meeting notes, then we can easily turn the Action Items into Board items. We also love Monday Forms, we use them for a variety of needs from creating a ticketing service to capturing survey information. The Analytic tools make it easy to make sure the work is getting done, putting together our survey results and even pulling in data with plug-ins for overall performance. There are so many ways to use it and there are a lot of great templates too to get anyone started, plus the software is easy to use.
  • Project Management & Time Tracking
  • Forms and Documents
  • Adding the Plug-ins and working with other software t
  • Adding links to files
  • Software is easy to use and navigate
  • Slow or lags and seems to have issues but they are communicated when things happen
  • Have the ability to create Folders in Folders for different projects under the same client
  • Automation seems to fail and has to be reset even if it shows as being active still
Best Suited - Project management, processes, onboarding, HR, Time Tracking, Ticketing system, Automated work flows, Accounting, Client access, IT, Inventory, Task and follow up, and so much more you name it monday.com could be adapted for. Easy to administrate and train as well. I really can't think of any industry that this would not work for so many options and flexibility.

I use monday.com to organize projects we receive. One of the main issues is that things would fall through the cracks because there wasn't just one platform everyone was able to use and stay connected.
  • Organize
  • Help Communication in the office

  • Make the formula examples a little more thorough
Being able to change the status of a project and leaving comments on items.

Our marketing team has many, many projects going at once. We also have sub-teams within our primary team. We use monday.com so that everyone can see what everyone else is working on at any given time, as well as to track what we've accomplished. We use monday.com for our blog's content calendar, social media calendars for two different organizations on 10+ platforms, daily task management, collaboration, and as a central hub for many important documents or brainstorm session notes.
  • Flexibility - No matter what the project or challenge, we've been able to find a way to do it in Monday.
  • Collaboration - It's so incredibly easy to collaborate with other team members.
  • Automations - The automations in monday.com help streamline processes and save us time.
  • I wish there was a way to auto-populate the date column within a group so that there's one item for every day of the month.
  • Sometimes I wish there were more color options - or that you could use custom colors.
  • I wish monday.com could directly integrate with every major social platform to eliminate the need for a service like Hootsuite or Sprout Social.
monday.com has been a fantastic tool for our in-house marketing team. I think any sort of creative or development team would find a hundred different ways to improve their processes with monday.com. I would even use monday.com to organize chores at home if I thought it would have any impact on whether or not they get done!

We use monday.com to assist in our workflow. All of our projects are on there, with all steps and which department is responsible for each step. It allows us to easily keep on top of what has been done, what needs to be done, and what the upcoming schedule is. Since we started using it, our workflow has greatly improved, and our communication is much better as well. The automations that are available have taken our use of it to the next level, but we are still only scratching the surface of the capabilities.
  • Automations and Integrations are key
  • The color-coding makes things easy to see
  • The subitems allow us to add more detail to each stage.
  • I wish there was a way to delete multiple notifications at a time. Right now, you can mark all as read, but you have to delete each one individually.
  • Changes are constantly being made, like changing the font on the site, or rearranging icons, or changing the functionality of icons, or what the first loaded page is. While added functionality and added features are always nice, universal changes like the ones I mentioned affect our use because we get used to how things work and then it changes, forcing us to "relearn" things and adapt our procedures. These "unnecessary" changes should be made optional, like being able to change to the new font or continue using the old font, etc.
  • I wish there was a little more customization option on the automations, like to use if-then statements.
It's great for improving workflow and communication between different departments. It's also great for keeping track of things within a department and keeping on top of deadlines and dates. I could also see how it can be used for collaboration.

We use monday.com in a variety of ways here.
1. First and foremost, we give all team members and departments training on monday.com so that they can use it to optimize their day-to-day or build workflows to fit their use cases.
2. We use monday.com to track company OKRs. We have company level boards (high level), then department level boards (low level). Our system works well, but functionality could be better. I believe there are items in the roadmap that will help.
3. Initiative tracking - general company initiatives
4. Ops workflows - we have a sync with Salesforce where opportunities get pulled in from SF with relevant metadata. Once in monday.com, our Ops team is able to delegate and track work that must be done for each opp.
5. Product management - we use monday.com to track our internal Product development efforts, everything from roadmapping to sprint tracking, bug tracking, etc.
  • Relatively easy to share boards with external users for collaboration
  • monday.com <> Salesforce integration is solid - one of the main reasons we purchased the product, but there have been issues with API overages which shouldn't be happening
  • Ease of use - easy to get in and start building
  • Recipes could use some work - would be cool to have better recipes for sub-items (related to my next point)
  • High to low level boards and linking (ultimately need better rollups)
  • Linked views of databases would be amazing... similar to the table views, but not
  • Faster UI for larger databases ( I know this is being overhauled - awesome!)
  • Would be great to be able to display last comment in a table column, or being able to drop in a comment in a table column and that populate in the comments
  • Ability to hide table views and reorder table views - PLEASE :)
I really love monday.com, but there are some areas that are lacking and have been massively sought out by the monday.com community that are easy wins but still under consideration by the product team...

Well suited - for teams that need a quick and easy solution.

Not well suited - advanced users that need to crush and build out complex workflows that work without being super hacky.

We use monday.com in various ways from tracking daily tasks to working through larger projects. We use the form feature for a lot of internal processes along with obtaining survey feedback. Every department in our organization uses monday.com for their teams for both individual and team tasks. We use both the board feature along with the dashboard features. The dashboard features make it simple for management to take a one glance look and know the current status of their teams work.
  • automations
  • forms
  • organization
  • reporting
  • integrations - but these are being added pretty regularly lately.
  • API with other products
Great to use as a ticketing system for teams to work through tasks, the dashboard feature is a great one for managers to see at a glance what their teams are working on. The ticketing system when using by auto forwarding emails from outlook isn't the best as it puts the body of the email into the comment bubble, making it hard to search for duplicate items.

monday.com is used to streamline our workflow process. It has provided greater visibility to any items that may be 'stuck in the pipeline.' We used to run many reports and have to filter through a ton of data to achieve certain metrics. With monday.com, we have used it to build dashboards full of graphs/charts that provide us with live data instantaneously. Normally there are multiple monday.com tabs open in my browser and this has become a place to house so many of our processes/activities for work.
  • The dashboards you can make are great
  • The integration between boards and ability to mirror
  • Customization of automations and it seems like an unlimited amount
  • The notification adjustments that can be made to fit each users need/want
  • The feature I'd love is to be able to tab between the boxes/columnswhen you are in the item card view
  • Also in item card view, being able to print those
  • Showing the overall total on a graph would be helpful. Right now you have to use one widget for the bar graph and another for the grand total
In my opinion, monday.com can be used in any scenario. Some might take longer to setup the flow/automations, but I feel there is always a possible way to use one of the templates. The only thing I have not used it for is to track spending/build a budget. It doesn't seem as friendly to use with the monday.com templates now.

I use monday.com as the main place for our workflow. From the BAU content on our site, to focused campaigns as well as calendars of content and announcements. Notifications and automations are key to the way we work and we use monday.com's extensive suite of automations and features to keep up to date with the various team members across various boards.
  • Automations - an easy way to notify users in pre-approve and unique ways
  • Update threads and tagging of users
  • An equivalent of a Google Sheet page would be welcome
  • A simple, multiple user calendar. One in which Annual Leave could be easily mapped.
It is extremely well suited to manage campaigns, BAU and general workflow. With its Updates, assigning of Users at different stages of an Items journey and the automations and notifications that you can create, monday.com enables everyone involved to have excellent sight of the state that a piece of work is in.

It is also very good at enabling its users to filter their teams' pages, especially when wanting to view content associated with themselves or certain users.

I use monday.com to manage projects of various sizes as well as my own to-do list. I manage multiple concurrent projects as well as routine program management tasks and keep track of everything on monday.com. Being able to see all of my tasks across projects and workstreams lets me prioritize my work, stay on ahead of deadlines, and evaluate my workload capacity to prevent bottlenecks. By adding hours estimates to tasks and using the workload and Gantt views, I'm able to see how much capacity I have on any given week and can quickly respond to requests with realistic response timeframes to keep my stakeholders informed.
  • Task tracking across projects and workstreams
  • Workload balancing
  • Maintain team visibility of work progress
  • Outlook integration is clunky; it's hard to track recurring invites with updates
  • Mirroring can get complicated, it would help to have a "zoomed out" view to see connections across boards.
  • Would like to see more Agile-focused templates
monday.com works well for tracking long-term work with multiple tasks that occur in relatively predictive workflows and for tracking multiple projects that have similar task structures. The key in my experience has been to map out the concept you want for your team and then begin building boards to suit.

monday.com is less suited for short-term, non-uniform projects that coordinate to support a larger effort like program management and development. Granularity of Board>Group>Item>Sub-items across coordinated projects can be difficult to align. Particularly when using the platform with a team, laying out ground rules or an SOP for the team to follow is very important to maintain quality of information entered on boards.

My business is a diagnostic genetic testing facility, we are fairly new and growing fast. One of our largest problems is having software to track our multiple projects, patients, and testing. Not only that, but one that is able to grow with our business at the incredible speed we have seen, and not cost hundreds of dollars a PIECE for different portions of the software. monday.com hits every area we needed and teaches us every day other areas to help streamline our work. Their project management is incredible, their board creation is easy, even their automations come with training videos and easy to understand scripts to put into action. The software includes options that others would charge THOUSANDS for, and we still keep learning of better uses of functions every time they send out a new training or how-to video.
  • Project Tracking
  • Keeping to timelines
  • Connecting with team members
  • Automating background processes
  • Easy to learn
  • Affordable
  • Double usage of colors (i.e. if I want two of the same shade of red for two different groups or statuses, but different individual items)
  • The color green not being restricted to the 'done' effects
monday.com is incredibly well suited for handling multiple projects and, from a supervisory standpoint, managing multiple teams. Ongoing items (like yearlong stuff) are a little less perfected in it's system as you are constantly updating, moving an item, moving it back, and updating dates/timelines endlessly. The subitem blocks do help, but projects where you have one board with multiple statuses and sub-statuses can get overwhelming. I believe a system where the statuses are separate per project, rather than per board, could be effective.

  • I would like to see the search block moved to the right as have to wait when moving between folders.
The program is so well adapted to be usable by the majority of businesses. I have recommended the program to colleagues and clients.
