We use UltiPro for many of our HR needs. It is our applicant tracking system, our on-boarding/orientation program, our time and attendance system, our payroll system, our benefits system, our survey platform, and our general HR system. Additionally, we will soon have the talent management piece for succession planning, performance reviews and much more.
  • Payroll: Ease of processing, simplicity of getting it done. It has cut our processing time in half.
  • Benefits: We are finally paperless with all of our benefits processes.
  • On-boarding: We are finally paperless with most of our on-boarding processes.
  • Interfaces: We began our activation with UltiPro in April 2017 and despite our best efforts internally, our interfaces with carriers (medical, dental, etc.) are still not in production. We had almost no support until October 2017 to get this done.
  • Some lack of control: There are things we have to go to UltiPro to do for us versus doing ourselves, which can cause delays unnecessarily.
  • UTM and Core: There is definitely a disconnect between core and UTM. This needs to be much more seamless.
I would have rated a 10 one year ago but after our activation this time, particularly with interfaces, has me less of a "raving fan" today. Terrific with payroll and support (year end goes really well because of them), and the benefits setup is easy as was all other features. On-boarding needs to be a little more robust, and allow not just eSignatures but to fill out forms electronically.

  • For the payroll team, waiting until the payroll is open to import has made it difficult. It would be nice if we were able to do this before so it gives us more time to balance
  • UTA system isn't as easy to use for the managers or the hourly employees. Having to go to multiple different screens to change the schedule & then back to the daily TS to make sure the changes took.
  • Code summary at the bottom should ONLY include what's approved and being paid. It also includes unapproved hours and throws the EE and manager off.

We are in the implementation process and have been very impressed with our implementation team and how well organized they are. We have been well guided through the process of taking two companies on two different systems and merging them into one. We are really looking forward to having one universal system which will be used through the entire employee experience and employment journey.

  • Could use a training checklist or plan, was assigned a lot of training with no specific order to complete.
I have been looking at UKG Pro for over a year, our current system lacked ease of function and was limited. We are looking forward to UKG's system as we strongly believe it will be a great compliment to moving our culture forward. Since we are just in the implementation phase there is still a lot of unknowns however thus far the system has been impressive and we are really excited to launch it.

UKG Pro is used for Time Management, tracking employee hours through the clock system implemented by UKG. We also use it for HR compliance. This involves personal employee information, deduction management like 401k, health insurance, etc. Finally, we run payroll processing through this system - paying via ACH and physical checks. This also involves the quarterly tax filings for Federal and State, as well as the W2s and W3s.
  • Integration between time management software and payroll processing.
  • Managing tax filings - preparing 941 and W2 forms.
  • Report capabilities through their BI program.
  • The BI program works well, if you know how to use it. Training is lacking in this area.
  • Initial onboarding was not done properly, many things were demonstrated and promised by salespeople, but little follow-through was done to ensure we knew everything we needed to know.
  • Integration between the payroll process and the general ledger for accounting purposes could be done better. Setting up relations between the payroll codes and the GL accounts is not very intuitive.
The integration between time management, vacation / PTO approval, and the payroll system is done very well. It is easy to manage all aspects of this individually and know nothing is lost between the transfers. Also, the ability to manage employee information and benefits and employment history is also laid out very smoothly and it is easy to follow.

  • Love the added reports; but some training and upgrades were needed compared to the old UltiPro ones
  • Historical date changes are allowed to be updated by dates
  • Historical edits that aren't included in processing are also not included in totals when you run reports by a certain pay code. Even though the entry has been added to the employees time card
We had to reach out to UKG to determine how we could do an historical edit on one of our approximately 6,000 team member without going page by page and then line by line

UKG Pro is being used by the organization to manage our people, their information, and their timekeeping. It houses all of this information and addresses reporting, analytics, and our organization as a whole. We are able to quickly and easily pull information from specific employees and groups of employees in a way that supports our executives in the best way.
  • UKG Pro has a fantastic support team that wants you to get the most out of the product in terms of functionality
  • The UKG Community is a valuable resource that is very reliable for trainings and troubleshooting
  • UKG Pro is filled with endless possibilities for custom settings and builds specific to your needs as a company
  • The merger has created some difficulties transferring information from the employee database to timekeeping and vice versa
  • Answers to troubleshooting questions can be hard to filter through and find which one is relevant to you
  • I'd like to see more support and involvement from UKG for those who are new to the system and learning it
UKG Pro is great for companies with many employees to manage. The features and functionality have a great potential to improve how employee information is collected, stored, and analyzed. It may be overkill for small organizations.

We went live with UKG in June 2021. It is used as our HR and Payroll system company-wide. We switched to UKG for a more robust customer service and for the additional features that were not being offered with our previous vendor.

  • Dedicated account manager
  • Supervisors have difficulty with the time off approvals. It's not intuitive. Would like to see an interactive time off calendar that allows them to view approved, pending, canceled and rejected requests and also to approve/reject requests from the calendar.
  • Timesheets do not display daily hours in terms of regular and OT. It just lists the total number of hours worked. It would be helpful if it would break it down to regular and OT on the timesheet itself. Makes it easier for supervisors when reviewing and approving timecards.
  • In the Employee Admin/My Employees list, it would be nice if the default view was active employees only. Most of the time that is what people want to see. There are far less times that we try to view termed employees.
  • When employees use the mobile app and try to access their timecards, it diverts them to the web version and they have to log in a second time. It would be nice to have an app that they could access all that information in a single location.
It has more dynamic reporting.

The time platform is less intuitive than it could be.

We utlize UKG for all our HRIS needs: HR Core, Payroll, Recruting, Onboarding, Employee File Management, Employee Case Management, Time Off Management, Open Enrollment, Performance Management etc. We're using it across the whole organization. UKG provides exceptional customer service through implementation to go-live, to ongoing maintainance. Our previous HRIS company was extremely hard to work with.

UKG Pro is well suited for any company with a need for HRIS systems. UKG Pro is not well suited for small companies, as you have to pay for 200 employees (minimum). We don't have 200 employees yet, but considering how huge our company is and the opportunity for growth, we figured it would be a good investment. Charging for a minimum of 200 employees, then an additional $4 for each HR Only User (when you haven't reached the 200 max) is unusual. (I realize it's only $4 but it's the principle)

UKG is being used throughout our organization. Employees use it as their main source for address updates, payroll and benefits information. We try and keep as much company information as possible in the system so employees can have a one stop shop to get any information they would need. We send notices and announcements to employees through UKG.

Our HR team using so many functions in UKG from payroll, benefits, recruiting and onboarding, reporting for departments and so much more! The reporting functionality makes it easy to get payroll, benefits, turnover and so much more information to different departments.
  • Customer Service - this team is so knowledgeable on HR laws, taxes, payroll information and more.
  • The functionality of this system is amazing, we have used platform configuration to do so much customization.
  • Reporting - I LOVE the reporting and dashboard functions, easy to use, plenty of free online training so you can learn about how to use these functionalities.
  • Their customer service team is super knowledgeable but sometimes turnaround time for responses can lag. They always have a rapid support number for help but general questions can take longer to answer.
  • I love the customization but certain packages don't allow for as much customization as I would like to see.
I have worked with other HR systems and this one just doesn't compare. The ease of use and system availability for administrators is amazing. I worked with UltiPro at a company and left and wasn't using it for two years. When I came back to a company that had it, within a day I felt like a fluent UltiPro user again. Its just that easy to use and the same goes for the end user. We even have Partners that are updating their own direct deposits and enrolling in benefits!

CHS uses most modules of UKG Pro across the whole organization which includes 87 hospitals. It addresses one system for all companies.

UKG Core works very well for the most part. CHS is a very complex organization especially in the corporate office. A more robust Compensation Module would be beneficial. We could not use what was delivered due to multiple reasons but one being employee movement.
Recently in Employee File Management we found that if a Note is placed on a person and the option to Notify All who have access to employee box is chosen, for us it sends a Notification ALL the way up to the Company CEO. So, a Hospital HR Generalist just expected her hospital personnel to be notified. This is an instance where UKG Pro is great for smaller companies but harder for larger companies such as CHS to use some of its features.

We are using UKG Pro across the organization, as we implemented all modules except for the recruit portion of the Recruit/Onboard piece. It allows our team members a one-stop place to go for all their HR, employee self-service, learning, etc. needs. We replaced 17 disjointed, outdated systems with UKG Pro!
  • employee self-service is modern, intuitive and robust
  • NLP (Xander) functionality in the survey tools is phenomenal
  • highly configurable, and HR is able to maintain without IT support
  • workforce continuity has ben immensely helpful during the pandemic and wildfires
  • the training is top notch! and Free! it really is a game changer
  • the performance module is a little clunky in parts, though still really robust
  • the benefits module (not Prime) is limited in comparison to other modules
  • managing the org structures in Dimensions poses some challenges - automation would be fantastic
  • cannot push internal candidates through Onboarding to Core, and this would be a massive improvement
I imagine UKG Pro is suitable for organizations of all sizes. I think it is also flexible enough that HR departments with low technical skills internally could pull in IT support to configure, though what's great is that you don't have to be a coder/developer to manage the system effectively. This is game-changing for us as well. For companies who want to do everything on paper and where team members aren't issued phones/laptops, maybe it's not a great fit, though it's hard to imagine that organization functioning well in general.

Ultipro is being used to pay our employees. Everything from HRIS, Benefits, to Pay
  • Customer Support is top notch. I usually get a very quick turnaround time with any issues or problems. Very knowledgeable staff and quick results are the norm.
  • Work Flow Easy is a big deal for us. We are able to create a change and go thru multiple levels of approval without any problem. You can always see where the item is within the workflow process.
  • Assistance with our annual benefits setup and rollout. This is a huge project and they always come forward to help us to make sure we are on the right track
  • Custom Reporting could [use] a little help. Sometimes I have to call and get assistance to make things happen.
  • GL setup and structure. We have recently changed our GL structure and it is not an easy transition to change over
  • Employee self serve could [use] a little more instruction/assistance. Employees get confused.
We are currently bringing on a sister company. Which shows our commitment to UKG. We are moving our sister company from their current HRIS to UKG. We have already moved them to Kronos for time keeping as well.

UKG Pro is used by employees and managers across the organization. It is our end-to-end human capital management suite and has enabled us to achieve elevated compliance, process efficiencies, system and vendor consolidation, and workforce insights. It has proven to be a springboard for HR to become much more strategic.

  • "Partner for life" is not just a motto, it is built into the fabric of their operations and all methodology
  • Integrations to other systems is seamless and very robust
  • Built with compliance in mind
  • Tax payment services team is overwhelmed, they could use more headcount
  • Talent acquisition suite could use more system config flexibility like the Core product has
UKG Pro is phenomenal, both from a technology standpoint but also from a customer service standpoint! I believe it is appropriate for businesses of all sizes and industries since it is extremely scalable. Cognos reporting takes a bit to learn so you may need to leverage outside resources if you plan to self-program your BI reports.

UKG Pro is used across the entire organization with several modules in place. HR uses the system for employee information and access levels, performance management, recruitment, onboarding, learning and development, and time management.
This addressed the business problem of our systems not "talking" to one another previously. UKG Pro has all modules integrated into the core system, so we can easily share data between modules and get what we need out of the system for data analysis.
  • UKG Pro customer support is great! They have specialists within customer support for each type of problem, so you can always find the best solution possible.
  • UKG Pro integrated its modules into core very well. This makes it easy to take a candidate through onboarding to become an employee in the core system.
  • UKG Pro's recruitment module provides a great user experience for the talent acquisition team, as well as for our candidates.
  • UKG Pro could improve upon their time management area. We currently still use UTM because it was the only way for us to have a bi-weekly PTO accrual for employees, rather than a lump sum added into their accounts at the beginning of the year.
  • UKG Pro could improve upon their learning module. This module is not intuitive for the administrator to set up or for the user to go through the courses. The main issue we have found is with the pop up windows and not being able to exit out of them and keep the completion rating for the course.
UKG Pro is well suited for an organization that is looking for a comprehensive system. There are some customization limitations within the modules, but how they integrate into core makes it worth it. The system also has great capabilities for customizing access levels within different roles. This helps prevent data from being edited accidentally, while still allowing leaders to see prudent information about their employees.

We are currently using the UKG Pro with the Payroll module. It is currently used by our entire organization however we do not have all modules turned on yet. As needed basis.

For our business it is the perfect software. Being new to the company and UKG I haven't had a lot of time yet to dive into the system and see what functionality can [be] improved or turned on to make it even better. Super easy to train new users.

UKG is used by HR to onboard new employees, our company benefits are through UKG, and we use the system to process our payroll and file our taxes.
  • Ease of running payroll is excellent
  • Rapid Response provides superior customer service
  • Customer Success Portal is a great tool and resource for all our needs
  • Response time for troubleshooting issues could be better.
UKG is far easier to process payroll than other systems I've used. Navigating around the system is very easy as well.

We implemented UKG Pro in December 2019. It is being used across the whole organization (spanning 8 provinces in Canada) and has solved a lot of our employee self-service problems. Employees can view and edit their data.

We are currently using UKG Pro for our payroll and just beginning to use the Employee Voice tool. Also, we build people data reporting to run for other programs within the company. So far, only the HR team uses the tool, but we are looking to explore other ways to use the tool.

UKG experience

We use UKG across our entire business and it serves as our HRIS system. All FTE employees have access and we have had a very good overall experience with the product. It has been easy to train managers as well as new hires to use the tool which makes my job easier :-)

Depending on the company size and what they needed to use the platform for I would likely recommend it. There are some things that are better elsewhere (recruiting and onboarding even) but overall we are very happy with the system and will continue to use it for years to come.

UKG Pro is our HRIS platform for all HRIS needs. We use WFM timekeeping as well to include the app and geo fencing across the whole organization. It has made our payroll much more accurate and allowed team members to be self - sufficient and in control of their information.

UKG is being used within our organization for time management, payroll and employee evaluations. It is the tool used to track hours for pay and to create payroll.

  • Making less phone calls to representatives to get a task complete - each area is specialized, which is great, but if you have a multi-layer issue, this can take more time than desirable to resolve.
  • I would like more training videos for using Business Intelligence.
I think UKG is a great tool and I am mostly very satisfied with the system and customer service. After learning UKG most items are fairly intuitive and there are extensive article resources online, which is a very powerful resource when you have questions. However, as I am sure is true with all systems there are some quirks and when working between the web and back office there are some changes that I feel could sync better.

Our whole organization uses it. Our employees utilize it to see their paychecks, check phone numbers for their coworkers and do employee reviews. We are also starting to become paperless so our employee documents are living in UKG. It's nice that phone numbers are always accessible for other employees and that my HR Staff across cities can help the other sites by the paperless options we have.

  • Reporting - going back to edit you have to go start over instead of just editing one thing
I would recommend to any HR professional I know. It is the most user friendly and I can personalize it to how I want it to look, which is very exciting.
