Ceridian Dayforce is being used by our whole organization. All employees have access to self-service to view earning statements, year-end W-2's and 1095-C's, update tax and direct deposit information, as well as update their contact information. Employees use Dayforce for benefits enrollment and for punching in and out. Our company also utilizes Dayforce for our Performance Management Reviews so employees complete their self-reviews and the managers input their reviews afterward.
  • Payroll Platform: it is very easy to use and makes processing payroll so much easier and more effective than our legacy system.
  • Keeping up with the market (i.e. launching new features and platforms to fit in with current times).
  • Offering many different avenues of training to suit your learning style.
  • Reporting functionality! In our legacy payroll system, all we had to do was select the fields we wanted on a report, and they were added to the report as expected. With Dayforce, they are based on different topics and it is very hard for a normal end-user to get a report with all the fields they are looking for.
  • Having Support employees be able to solve your problem over the phone. Many times the employee will have to open a case for you and then you wait until it is assigned and then someone will then reach out to you.
  • Costs of correcting errors on Carrier Feeds. Many times the errors are not something you caused due to new or different information and you get billed $200 per hour for someone to work on the issue to correct. It really adds up and is not typically something companies budget for.
Dayforce is the best (in my experience) at Payroll. It's really a great platform that works well and is easy to use. Some of the cons of reporting capabilities and costs of services reduce my rating to an 8.

Dayforce is being used across the entire organization and all in one HRIS system with ATS. With a focus on ESS and MSS integrating recruiting and electronic onboarding with a focus on managing the employee lifecycle.
  • Dayforce is a clean looking system that is intuitive for the user.
  • The Dayforce product is a true all-in-one HRIS with ATS and WFM.
  • A reporting function that is easier to use and configure.
  • Real-time reporting with WFM
  • More responsive Support Center to support needs for the productive business that we're in.
  • Nickle and diming you for every possible professional service to make the product work for us.
Dayforce has a lot of quirks that need to be figured out with a better support system and education for new users.

We use it to run payroll and enter employee information into the HRIS.
  • Benefits and pension enrollment
  • Easy to make changes to employee's pay, status, etc.
  • Reports: easy to customize reports
  • Implementation: difficult to get problems fixed after go-live date. Need a single point of contact to resolve problems instead of submitting tickets.
  • Sluggish: after a while of using you need to reset as it gets slower.
  • Various bugs with reinstating employees.
Day to day payroll, running reports, updating employee info, and pension and benefit admin.

It is being used for payroll.
  • User-friendly
  • Staff has access to their information on the app.
  • The help database available is great. Thorough instructions on how to fix your issue. Customer service is also available if you can't find the information you need.
  • Response time for non-urgent help items can take too long to get a response from the customer service reps at times.
  • Originally, we wanted the WFM timekeeping package along with it, but it would not work for us as we have a complex system.
  • Could improve the HR portion, so that our current forms can be uploaded into the system, sent to staff and staff can digitally sign off. Digital signatures are a must in our business.
Depends on what they are looking for. If it is for payroll, I would recommend 100%. If for HR or timekeeping, I would only recommend it to others if they could eventually make it work for us.

Dayforce is used by our company and its 6 subsidiaries. Dayforce provides a central location for our HR administration, benefits administration, and payroll processing.
  • The payroll module is very easy to use and processing happens quickly. You can immediately see the results and check an individual employees information to.
  • Can check to that all deductions, taxes and earnings are processed correctly.
  • The Benefits module is also a plus for Dayforce. Plans, enrollments and eligibility requirements can be set up quickly.
  • Another strength for Ceridian Dayforce is that they are constantly improving their product and listening to their customers on their needs.
  • The actual processing of benefits is a bit cumbersome, especially when an employee is making a change between plans. This also included the carrier feeds, which don't always work.
  • The system has some latency issues.
  • Support is not always helpful and with some issues, they are slow to resolve or provide a solution.
Ceridian Dayforce is well suited for most companies. We have a distribution company, 2 service companies and 3 manufacturing companies, and the system works well for all of them.

We currently use Ceridian Dayforce as our HR and payroll system for the US. We use it as a self-service system for employees and managers.
  • It's a good self-service tool for employees and managers.
  • Reliable connectivity.
  • Customer support.
  • Benefits administration is clunky and not user-friendly.
  • The core HR module is not entirely user-friendly.
Their customer service/support is severely lacking. I have used Ceridian for the last three years, and there has been little to no improvement in the area of customer support. We regularly have support tickets open for a month or longer, while reps are "researching" the issue. I do not always trust the answers/solutions that are provided. Service level is definitely not consistent, and is a gamble every time I open a new support ticket.

We use Ceridian Dayforce as an HRIS system and for payroll. It is used across the whole organization.
  • It's easy to get a hold of to solve issues.
  • It's always updating and upgrading.
  • Ceridian provides an app to make it super easy for employees.
  • Ceridian Dayforce needs to improve the help feature to make it more user-friendly and easier to find solutions on your own.
  • They could speed up the turnaround time when contacting Ceridian through the support site.
It's easy to use when processing payroll for a group of employees, as well as when employees want to schedule time away/off. It's very user-friendly.

Dayforce is being used across the entire firm. It solves the need for employees to have a personal space to deal with private information, like payroll, address changes, performance, vacation tracking, and learning.
  • Easy navigation, and user-friendly.
  • A single login and platform for all personal needs.
  • Mobile ready.
  • Printing a performance review lacks a standard format.
  • Copying and pasting text from MS Word into any text box has formatting issues.
  • Setting up the user roles interface could be more intuitive. The drop-down menu, and finding features to select, do not work too well.
Dayforce is a great central application for all related information for payroll, HR, and any personal self-services. The performance review and learning management system were great additional features.
It would be nice if the system could also support Canadian T5 slips or Dividend Payments.

It is being used by payroll, finance, operations, and employees within our organization. It increased the accuracy of our scheduling and timesheets, eliminated our paper system for vacation and time away requests, which has saved considerable time for all departments and improved the accuracy of payroll processing as the time and attendance is directly connected to the payroll. It has given our managers and employees more visibility on employee information, and has streamlined some of our HR functions.
  • The time away request system is all automated. The employee enters a request, and the manager then reviews the request and approves or denies the request. If the request is approved it populates the timesheet, which then goes to the payroll.
  • The scheduling and timesheets are one integrated system with the payroll, so if the schedule is correct, and the employee works the scheduled shift, then no adjustments are required.
  • It's a paperless system for rate increases. The manager enters the request for a rate increase for their employees. The workflow then goes to the approving manager, and, if approved, updates the HR record, timesheets, and payroll.
  • Tracking of vacation hours taken and paid is also automatic, and no intervention or manual entries are required.
  • I can't think of anything that is hard to use or has missing functionality.
I have found Dayforce is well suited for everything including payroll, performance tracking, scheduling, vacation processing and tracking, scheduling, time collection, and cost. I cannot think of any scenarios where it is not appropriate.

As we are new to the system, we are primarily using it for payroll, scheduling, recruitment, and some basic workforce management. It is used across the organization for timesheets and time-away management. It's used much more consistently in our Payroll and Human Resources department. We are still in the process of implementing new modules, as well as configuring the system further to have it really work at it's best for our needs. However, it has helped us identify gaps that were never realized using our older and much less progressive payroll system, specifically with reporting abilities.
  • The user interface is intuitive and great to work with, and it is pleasing visually. This is important for our end users.
  • The ability to manage and control security and access to the system to involve more departments in the organization helps with efficiencies and collaboration.
  • The reporting is expansive and flexible with how much you can configure reports, as well as the options to schedule when and how often they can run. Helps with managing the day-to-day.
  • They're constantly finding ways to keep on top of the latest technology and they involve their clients in improvements to the system. They do this through forums and working groups to demo and test new features or improve existing ones. This is great because there isn't a concern that the system will always be what it is or that you can have a say in the direction the system is going.
  • Recruitment - While they are constantly making improvements here, it's not like an ATS at all, which we find has way more functionality. There is no Boolean search logic that allows you to go through hundreds of new requisitions by a keyword. It also doesn't store candidate information so that they can apply with an existing resume. They have to input new data each time they apply for a job. If this worked more like an actual ATS then it would be fantastic.
  • Scheduling - If your employees work in one position and in one location and the scheduling is handled by a manager at each of those locations, then there is no issue for you. However, if you have employees who work between multiple locations, have multiple positions with different pay rates, and have scheduling done from a centralized location - scheduling will be a challenge for you. Schedules are set up week by week, there is no monthly overview. There is no way to get a look at unfilled shifts across multiple locations, so it's hard to figure out where the need is most to fill in gaps. Scheduling is also very manual in that would have to navigate between locations constantly just to remove a shift to put it in another location. You can only post the entire schedule, so if you schedule by department, if one dept. posts the schedule then the whole thing gets posted.
  • Everyone has to ensure all their scheduling is done at the same time.
  • Work Assignments - It's a huge pain that the schedule will determine the effective end dates of work assignments. This has caused us an issue with retro pay. If an employee has been scheduled in one work assignment months ahead of time and they change positions, it won't matter what end date you put in. The system will automatically throw the end date to the first day after that job was scheduled to. This doesn't help if there is a pay rate in there either; it increases risk the employee will be paid incorrectly if it coincidences with a change in pay rate. Then, it's very manual to go into the schedule, remove all the shifts, and go back and adjust the work assignment dates.
Well suited for:
  • Reporting - The flexibility and detail are great.
  • Onboarding - Great that employees can get access prior to their first day.
  • Mobile - Huge plus that employees can manage their time from their phones.
  • HR Administration - Love what we can track and how we can manage employee profiles.
  • Document Explorer - Great as an electronic filing system. Reduced paper, more efficient use of time, and flexibility to allow certain groups to see certain documents.
Not suited for:
  • Recruitment - Needs a lot of work, and needs to work like an ATS.
  • Scheduling - Doesn't fit the needs of a workforce that is constantly mobile and changing locations and managers.

Our organization uses Ceridian Dayforce for onboarding, scheduling, shift trading, time collection (biometric clock, online timesheet), payroll processing, and HR records such as workplace injuries and training records. It is used across the organization. We had no time & attendance system prior to implementing Ceridian Dayforce, so each business had developed unique procedures over many years. Dayforce streamlined the payroll procedure and eliminated a lot of manual administrative work as well as paper forms.
  • Ceridian Dayforce offers excellent teams of customer support consultants, as well as easy-to-use support portal.
  • Issues can be addressed either by phone call or by logging it into the portal.
  • R&D - continuous improvement of product.
  • Flexibility of the system.
  • Training and courses offered to users are useful.
  • Multiple work assignments are not available to select while using pay adjustment within timesheet.
  • Reports. Finding a required report template or creating a new report can be a challenge. Employee Change reports are not user-friendly.
  • Shift rotation that goes from one day to the next required work-around.
I find the system is very flexible so it can be configured to meet requirements of any organization, but I think it is suited to mid to large organizations with multiple locations, various pay rules, and policies/collective agreements.

We use Ceridian Dayforce to process payroll, timesheet record-keeping, employee record-keeping, and managing employee benefits. It also is crucial in providing reports necessary for company accounting and various other areas of the business. We recently added a performance tracking module which allows both employees and supervisors to continually update progress and achievements made throughout the year. Our entire countrywide company uses Ceridian Dayforce. It makes things like onboarding a new employee located in California from Pennsylvania seamless!
  • Accurate timesheet records maintained by the system as well as the ability to manually make changes for unique situations that may occur for a single pay period.
  • Multiple facets for auditing records and payroll runs for accuracy.
  • Assistance and reference guides are easily accessible via email, online or over the phone. I've always had pleasant experiences in working with help center staff.
  • Navigating the report builder (outside of the existing cached report options) can be challenging.
  • It can take a lot of time and experience to really understand what one is seeing when working with the audit for a specific day's timesheet.
Ceridian Dayforce is the Cadillac of payroll software. It does more than I could have even imagined to support my company. Information is clear and accessible and it is very user-friendly.

Dayforce Believer!

Our facility is in Canada and is part of a larger organization. Dayforce was implemented in Canada in 2014 and was implemented in the US in 2018. Prior to 2018, we only used Payroll and WFM - when the US implemented, we added onboarding, benefits, performance, recruiting and are currently working on compensation and dashboards. I appreciate having one place to go for all HR-related functions - the integration of the modules is most definitely a time saver, especially with the continual enhancements to reporting.
  • Trust in employee pay - Once you have your pay policies correct, the system flows beautifully and can be trusted. It is so very rare that an employees' pay is incorrect and when it is, it's usually a result of human input.
  • Excellent support services - The customer support people have really come a long way. Dayforce as a whole is a complex product but the support people can usually help me right away or will get back to me quickly.
  • Forward-thinking - The addition of modules that make sense and enhance the product does make my work life better!
  • Communication - The information that is relayed prior to the change, the ability to partake in testing, the quest for feedback and the ability to influence change where it makes sense. Much appreciated.
  • I like to preview each pay statement before I commit payroll. It would be nice to have a 'Next' button to move to the next person (going alphabetically) rather than having to type in the name.
  • The education portal is improving - I'd like to see each module have a learning track. Also, when I click on 'How to use the Education Centre', I get a notice that this page is forbidden to me - odd!
  • It would be great if there were samples/exercises that could be worked on for each module outside of the virtual classroom learning. It's easy to complete the exercises in training when you have the steps in front of you but I like to be challenged more - thinking and working through the issues really helps me understand how things work.
I think Dayforce is a terrific product which is why I've scored this so high. If someone were just going to use the payroll module and nothing else, I'm not so sure it would be the right fit. The beauty of the program is making the system work for you!

This is used mostly by the HR department, however, we use Dayforce across the whole company, as employees use this to book time, view their paystubs, and change their addresses.
  • Vacation - Employees can book vacation time using an app or their computers.
  • Time and attendance - When an employee takes vacation time, this automatically gets entered in the timesheets.
  • HR tracking - This keeps a log of any changes an employee or the employer makes on the employee profile.
  • Support - Can take a while get back to you.
  • Support - The support is across the globe, this makes it very difficult to contact them during working hours.
Ceridian Dayforce is a well-designed software. It can be used for all HR needs, from payroll to HR, benefits, health and safety, and time and attendance. The support, however, is lacking, and it can be hard to get in touch with someone.

Our company uses Dayforce for timekeeping and payroll processing. The entire organization uses the timekeeping aspect while only the payroll team uses the payroll module. Our payroll is very complex and Dayforce has done a good job on being able to accommodate our different/unique pay structures. Overall, Dayforce support has been able to address our issues as they come up.
  • Accommodating complex payrolls.
  • Customer service in urgent cases.
  • Contact for our Customer Success Manager is readily available.
  • Have more solutions that are corrected by customer support.
  • Fewer cases being moved to Professional Services.
  • The turnaround time with tax issues should be sped up.
  • Turnaround time for Professional Services should be quicker.
Ceridian is well suited for hands-on staff that understand a degree of programming. Personally, for me, I am able to follow sequences and understand and I like that. For members of my staff, it proves to be more difficult. Specifically, understanding our HR Import process and how to decode errors is something that I actually enjoy. However, I can see this as being a downside. I understand that Ceridian teaches us to use their system to control our environment but for others that have been exposed to other payroll processing software, it may not be as user-friendly.

We use it for HRIS and payroll, including recruitment, benefits administration, payroll taxes, onboarding, timekeeping, Obamacare compliance, EEO compliance, document management, management reporting in regards to labor, W-2's, I-9's, exporting labor dollars to the general ledger, MBO tracking, bonus payments, hourly incentive pay tracking, and union issues regarding pay & dues, 401k interface & reporting, etc.
  • Payroll: because Ceridian Dayforce is able to customize its configuration to math both Union & Non-union work rules & pay practices.
  • Benefits Administration: again because of the configuration flexibility available from a stellar team.
  • Time & attendance tracking: it is an integrated solution.
  • It takes way too much time in adding new functionality and not making the current functionality work smoothly.
  • Nearly every release 'blows-up' some element of our instance, and we only discover it after some employee's pay or benefits are impacted.
  • Support is not staffed adequately to handle the issues that arise -- they often are forced to hand off issues to the developers or professional services, just so we can be charged 'big bucks' to fix their issues.
  • The benefits module costs more to maintain each year for open enrollment than it cost to set it up in the first place. A total 'bait & switch' blindsiding we never saw coming.
It's well-suited if you have a team of in-house developers in your IT department. It's not appropriate for mid-sized (i.e. 1,000 to 5,000 employee) sized companies with a limited in-house IT Staff. There are far too many issues sent to professional services where we get charged exorbitant fees to address. If switching to a new vendor was not such a hassle, I'd switch tomorrow.

This is too robust of a system for smaller organizations. Larger organizations with a dedicated HRIS employee would be necessary to utilize all of the system updates.

Ceridian Dayforce is our sole HR Information System and data house. It is populated with all data information for employees. It is used to populate all kinds of reports, such as turnover, site by site information, regional information, etc.
  • Reporting.
  • Extremely user-friendly interface.
  • Configuration.
  • Support services.
  • All-encompassing reports.
Because it is so easily navigated, Ceridian is great for new users, whether they are good with technology or not. We have recently started to implement the onboarding module, and it is a great tool for new employees at our company to utilize both Dayforce and learn about our company.

Dayforce is being used at the entire organization at our local property here. We utilize Dayforce as our time capture system, and Ceridian Freedom as our employee data capture system. Dayforce helps us to keep track of comp time and time clock activity. It integrates well with our employee data capture system most of the time.
  • Ceridian Dayforce is very easy to use for employees. The web time clock doesn't require any training for new employees.
  • Ceridian Dayforce is easy for managers to understand and approve their own payroll.
  • Ceridian Dayforce is very user-friendly overall, and does not require much training or continuous instruction.
  • In general, it integrates well with our employee data capture system, Ceridian Freedom. However, the exports fail when there is a piece of incorrect information in a new or existing entry. I always have to call support for this because there is no obvious warning or anything when data imports fail.
  • I would like it to be easier for employers to update things like policy changes about overtime or vacation themselves without having to reach out to support.
I recommend Ceridian for small businesses where multiple managers approve their employees' payroll and there is just one HR person in charge of overall payroll. I wouldn't necessarily recommend it to larger organizations based off of my experience; however, I believe it may be customizable enough for larger organizations as well.

Currently use it for our benefits, time management, and payroll. Used company-wide for managers and employees. Helps to have everything in one system and unified.
  • Before Ceridian, we were using three different systems. One for payroll, one for time and attendance, and another for HR. We had to import data from one system to another so there was the potential of data dropping off. We were able to combine three systems into one with Dayforce.
  • Clear and easy to use interface.
  • Reporting issues. Pulling the wrong data from timesheets/payroll.
  • System is slow and lags.
Great for employees to have access to update their own information, direct deposit, address, and contact information. Configuration is difficult. Issues with workflows/role management during integration needs to be done properly.

We use their timeclock system for a group of employees.
  • Informative data
  • Great implementation
  • Easy to use
  • A different person each time for customer assistance.
  • Not helpful with integration that would only benefit one customer.
  • More customers that are education-based.
Not so much for those not using all of Ceridian products.

We use it across the organization. We use it for time and attendance, benefits, HR and payroll.
  • Track time and attendance.
  • Remit to 3rd parties.
  • Pay employees on time and accurately.
  • Ever since we started using it, it has used Silverlight which is a Microsoft software not supported by Chrome. They have been constantly changing it to HTML format so that it will be supported by all browsers. Consequently, there are features that change with each upgrade and they are not the best at pinpointing what has changed. You go to do do something and it is not there anymore. It has been moved to a different spot. I register for WebEx instructions but sometimes it is useful and sometimes it does not apply to me.
  • Because it is constantly changing to avoid using Silverlight, there are certain functions that work in certain browsers and not in others. While preparing payroll, I may have to switch back and forth between Chrome and Explorer to get the job done.
  • Entitlements have always been a problem for us. I have had to open many tickets because the balances are incorrect. There appears to be no rhyme or reason as to what causes it to go awry. I keep manual records which I update regularly to figure out what people's true balances are.
For companies that have very straight forward entitlement policies with no carryovers and payouts.

Ceridian Dayforce is the HRIS system we utilize at the corporate headquarters of Canadian General Tower. Our hourly employees utilize the Dayforce clock system to badge in and out and Dayforce uploads this information directly to the payroll module. We use it for time and attendance, vacation entitlements and payroll processing.
  • Provided the payroll policies are created correctly, Dayforce can be customized to follow any Collective Agreement language.
  • Creating and amending ROE's in the payroll module is easy to do.
  • Creating reports are becoming easier with the newest release.
  • Payroll policies can be very complex and will usually require extra paid assistance from Ceridian.
  • Would like to see that the timesheets could be listed in alphabetical order by employee or for more than 1 week at a time.
  • Even with the upgrade to the support portal, I find this feature difficult to use and not very effective. It takes too long to get responses.
As payroll processing software, Dayforce is very good. It is easy to maneuver through the tabs and the tabs all make sense. I really like the fact that I can amend the information for any ROEs (within reason) that I need to produce. This feature was not available in prior releases. I find that new releases usually come with too many problems and hence the need for emergency updates. Perhaps more testing should be done prior to release.

We currently use Ceridian for our payroll processing.
  • Collecting the data on the portal
  • History of pay, demographics, etc.
  • Multiple tables are easy to maintain and update
  • Reports: a report feature will remain like the last time you ran the report, this could be good but also bad.
  • I print a monthly report based on active employees but would need to select all employees so that I get accurate information for the month I am pulling data for. This is very time-consuming because I have to look through all EEs to get information.
  • Some window tabs seem they could be combined.
  • The customer service line is horrible. Many times I call and get one answer then I call back because I have another question then I get a completely different answer. on other occasions I am having to email several times on an issue before I get a response. And other times I work with Ceridian support to solve an issue. They say it is resolved and then it pops back up again, and again, and again., where now I am just manually correcting the issue every pay period bc I never can get Ceridian to resolve the issue.
I would have some reservations, one thing for sure is getting the support when sending an email. Several times I have had to reach out several times to get a response or call from support.

It is used within our company for payroll purposes. I use it to complete payroll for various newspapers within our organization. Employees use it to put in time away and managers use it to schedule employees. It helps us complete our semi-monthly payrolls.
  • Problem Solving
  • Payroll
  • HR
  • Response Time
  • Educating Employees
  • Transfer between Dayforce & Insync systems.
Well suited for PowerPay, that is an awesome software program that I highly recommend. Well suited for large organizations, not smaller ones.
