We use it to organize various types of projects. Before, we really had no way of tracking or organizing tasks. We have since expanded across several departments and people have also started created personal boards to organize their own work.
  • The UI is very appealing and user friendly
  • The automations are great
  • It has a lot of great features like monday.com docs and forms
  • It has a lot of integrations with other programs
  • The Jira integration could use a little tweaking.
We have some high visibility projects and tracking them in monday.com and providing updates has increased collaborative efforts and also helped keep executive leadership informed of progress.

The UI is what drove me to monday.com. A lot of my colleagues regularly talk about how much they like and appreciate the UI.
The team has been very helpful and responsive every time we've reached out. Zero complaints.
The overall perfomance is impressive. I don't have any issues with lagging or anything like that. No complaints.
Yes. We use the boards and tag owners to tasks from team across the company and it enables us to hold team members accountable. We found this really helps our engagement among various teams.
I would rate it a 10.
When I was looking for project management software for Spectrio, monday.com had the most robust set of features and it has not let us down so far.

  • Reporting progress to ELT

  • Keeping track of personal to do's
  • We have used it to create a tracker for critical issues for high revenue clients that is visible to ELT and all teams collaborate on it. It has really helped keep us organized.

We use monday.com as our Customer Relations Manager. It is used on a daily basis to track calendar management and client management. It is also used on a weekly basis to review weekly and monthly stats for the company. There is a lot of great information on monday.com and there are so many things you can do once you get to know the system. The only setback I see in using monday.com is internal automation (I wish you could allow certain actions on Monday to trigger other actions). Though, they do a wonderful job incorporating external modifications (although I wish there were a few more automation that could be set in place for email campaign systems- such as Active Campaign).
  • Client management is made easy. You can store and update client information as needed, you can insert documents associated with each client, and you can organize client data to better suit your daily needs. There are many modifications and customization options for CRM.
  • Weekly/Monthly/Daily Stats: monday.com allows you to organize data under different "tables". These tables can help you identify your stats for any period of time and are very helpful in deciding the next steps.
  • Administrative Task Management: monday.com can also act as a to-do list for your company to collaborate on (each person can have an individual account, but teams can be set up for them to collab on). It also allows us to organize hiring processes and human resources information.
  • Internal Automations: There should be a little more availability to trigger actions within monday.com itself. For example, it would help tremendously for us to be able to set up a date when clients are automatically transferred into a new board or group.
  • Expand on External Modifications: monday.com has recently focused on the aesthetics/look of the application, but I would rather they began focusing on how monday.com operates with other applications. We have a email campaign system (Active Campaign), that does a beautiful job of integrating apps, but monday.com is very limited on their external automation availabilities with campaign systems. Not sure if this would apply to many other business models, but as a CRM- I can see this being beneficial.
  • Limiting Access within Boards: monday.com has recently added a limited access to specific boards, but I would love if this feature expanded to where certain team members could only view a board rather than edit it (It is possible that this is available for a higher subscription and we simply do not have access to it at this time).
Just to reiterate my previous points, monday.com is a wonderful system for CRM specifically. I've also made the argument throughout this review that it is beneficial for things like Human Resources and Administrative Tasks as well, but its strengths lie within its CRM capabilities. There are multiple areas that I could elaborate on where Monday is not very useful, but monday.com was not built for those things- so that is an unfair judgment to make. Overall, I think it's a great CRM tool.

  • Time Saving: This gives my client the opportunity to have everything he/she needs at their fingertips. I can organize and sort data to show them exactly what they need for each day and can hide unimportant information as necessary.
  • Team Collaboration: monday.com allows us to collaborate with one another about our clients' successes and this prevents us from need to have constant meetings about where clients are at and who's met with who.
  • Tracking: monday.com has hugely benefited our team in it's documenting abilities. We are able to track specific dates clients were spoken to, as well as upload physical documents that clients have sent in to us and allows us to distinguish what information has already been given to the client.
I believe my rating is somewhat skewed as I entered the monday.com software with it already being set up. So, I am not aware of the learning curve it may or may not take from the foundations of it all. I have since learned how to do everything and feel confident in using monday.com, but there are definitely aspects of monday.com that require learning, but this is true for most/if not all software.
Sometimes it takes a little while for Customer Support to get back to you and I've found (on a few occasions) that there is typically some miscommunication before the support team has an understanding of what I'm asking. Not putting all of the faults on monday.com, as we are all human and make mistakes, but I did want to note this critique here.
Overall, monday.com's performance has hugely benefited our business as a whole. There are very few moments where monday.com becomes restrictive, and even fewer moments when monday.com becomes frustrating and for software, I'd say that's a rather big accomplishment. I would like to make a note that if the system is going to be down for any period of time, monday.com should do a little better at warning customers (possibly with a banner over the system like they do for new updates).
Yes. Our team is entirely remote and we use Monday.com to communicate with one another about client progress.

While there are ways to handle project management on Monday.com, I believe there are better software options for this. Monday.com is much better at customer relations management.

  • Product Usability
  • Product Reputation
The features of monday.com truly dictated why we went with this software. monday.com is a very capable software and is very versatile in that way.
If we had to do this again, I would seek more referrals, test other softwares, and reassure my decision in this current software.
  • Implemented in-house
Change management was minimal
  • I wasn't there for this stage.
Again, I wasn't there for the implementation of the product, but I know the EA before me really enjoyed the system, so I would assume she would rate this highly.
  • No Training
We utilized YouTube resources when needed, but most things felt like second nature due to previous knowledge of CRMs.
I believe it is slightly limited, but overall the product is very well suited for our uses.
Internal automations (triggering events).
Yes - we have customized the interface extensively
This was fairly easy to do and I really appreciate this.
Not at this moment.
No, there aren't many things in monday.com that we would need support on, but on the off chance that we do need it, these are typically problems that can take a little longer to get back to.
Not applicable.
  • Creating Boards/Groups
  • Customizing Information
  • Collaboration/Note-taking
  • Integrating documents (not necessarily cumbersome, but I can see how some might struggle with this)
  • Synchronizing everything (again, I got into this software after it had already been set up)
Yes
I don't use it. There is too much information on monday.com for this to be super mobile friendly; however, I know the mobile version works if I absolutely needed it.
For it to work across multiple departments and sites, I would like to see improvements made with integrations and automation. For this question, I am acknowledging not only the addition of internal triggers/automation, but also an expansion on external ones.
There have only been 2 instances in the past year where monday.com was down.
Everything performs fairly well. Every now and then there are user errors where an employee will not click "ok" on a note they've created and simply exit out (I do wish that something was in place to prevent this, such as a pop "are you finished?")
  • Active Campaign
  • Emails
  • Calendly
To be entirely honest, none of these worked the way we wanted them to. We were hoping that monday.com could trigger an automation in Active Campaign and it doesn't seem to work. For emails and Calendly, we were hoping these applications could trigger the creation of a "subject" but that didn't work either (without the use of Zapier).
  • Active Campaign
  • Gmail
  • Calendly
I know there are already some integrations with each of these, I do not know monday.com's plans to expand on these. I would hope that they would allow a separate option outside of Zapier to connect this applications though.
  • File import/export
Not that I can think of.
I've made comments on the integration of monday.com throughout this review, I simply think improvements could be made.
Expansion on external automation and addition of internal triggers.
Based on my clients reaction to this question, I would say the process of purchasing the product went smoothly.
Deducted one point for the few support issues we've run into. It simply can be frustrating when you have to repeat your problem, or expand on the situation, but I understand they have our best interest and are looking for more information to better help us.

monday.com has been a lifesaver for us, couldn't have managed Black Friday without it! Its organizational skills are second to none and makes things really easy when we're passing files, creative and text between departments. The individual boards per department are neat and keep us on line with what we're doing/doing next. Really recommend!
  • Organisation.
  • Easy to use.
  • Time tracking.
  • Time tracking needs some amending.
We have five different departments and moving information, assets and creative between the them with one single board is really easy, nothing goes missing. And if you accidentally delete something you can always find it in the archive.

We are a largely remote team, but we shared the same office when we began using monday.com. After the leadership made the choice to switch to a full-time home office, there was some worry about how we would coordinate work and report back.
We have been using monday.com for a short while before the switch, but not to its full potential, since we were able to walk over or just ask a question across the room (or message Slack). With the more asynchronous nature of working remote, even in the same time zone, we started to use the updates more, add more and more tasks, refine statuses, and grow the documentation of workflows. Using monday.com has streamlined processes while making them easy to follow and track. And in turn, this has helped us develop better project management skills.
  • Very visual, so you see what's up at a glance -- you can hide less important info (or pull them up) very simply.
  • It's as logical and simple as a spreadsheet. The extra features make it easier to use, not more complicated.
  • It became an extension of my brain. I no longer have to grind my gears trying to recall what is due when, or click through -- the surface makes everything easier to remember, with subtle color coding and smooth UI.
  • My team is awesome, but Monday helps me appreciate my own efforts without external feedback. I know what I do, and I get better and better about estimating the time and effort needed to complete things, even if they have multiple variables.
  • I spent 5 minutes thinking about this. No clear answer yet. I love it. They are constantly developing new features, and it's a pleasant surprise when they think of something I will find useful.
  • At this point I feel like there are so many features I don't know what is new that would help me, without researching a lot, but that isn't actually bad.
When I take on more complicated tasks with freelancers, I give them their own board from a template I made -- deadlines, payments, briefs, and files all go in there, and I can even track progress from a master board. We can message each other and submit updates under specific statuses and sub-tasks. For smaller tasks with freelancers in my time zone, I don't utilize it. Even though I love monday.com dearly, I have to draw the line somewhere and not use it in place of emails or instant messages.
Dashboards are handy tools to track progress and growth -- they have very exact reporting views, and also a llama farm, to lighten up the mood. I can create to-do lists there for minor daily tasks, like calling someone. I make step-by-step checklists in updates under the tasks in the regular boards, if they are important to completing a bigger project and not very urgent.

  • From my perspective, the cost of the software was saved hundredfold in my working hours alone, and reduced both administrative time and errors.
It is simply perfect.
To expand it a bit more, Monday.com is extremely straightforward and for a small organization, it absolutely saves one assistant's efforts, and makes hiring new people easier. Onboarding, with the archives, and hidden groups, is just a few clicks, they can process information on their own, and tag you for help in updates, if they need advice.
My knowledge of the system got to a point where I am not helped out by being pointed to relevant FAQ links -- for a time that was all I got, but the new webinars solve this knowledge gap issue for me. I prefer to watch the recordings, but that is just as good, and to watch out for updates to enhance my boards.
Absolutely, there are specific fields to see how long a project will take, how much of someone's efforts it requires, and there is a timeline view to see who is free for new tasks and when.
Monday.com's layout is closer to a spreadsheet, and has better features to categorize and search data. I can go deeper, adding more and more insight to a task, than I could with a card, even when I used premium add-ons. I couldn't get a good grasp on what was going on with Asana. I had to look and search, and sometimes I got lost in the system, trying to find specific information for a project.
There are dedicated fields where you can assign a task to one person, a team, or multiple people.
You can add people to boards, or hide the board from everyone.
Tag people where you need their help - kind of like Facebook, you can comment and add images, everything is helpful to collaboration here.

Directors, developers, marketing managers, and associates. We all manage freelancers, in busy periods, 10-20 of them simultaneously, and those on more complicated tasks will be invited to use their own dedicated boards to update us on their progress (sharable boards -- we opted for a plan that allows us to have a lot of people).
We use it without need for support from Y generation digitally fluent people who can talk to support on their own, if needed.
  • Time and resource management for individuals and large projects.
  • Connecting the remote team's efforts -- streamlining follow ups and reporting.
  • Automating and tracking recurring tasks.
  • We fit in a few boxes comfortably -- monday.com was designed for us, it feels like. Everything we need has a solution, no MacGyvering needed.
  • We are always adding new boards as new projects pop up, always coming up with better and better ideas.
  • As the company grows, we can always follow with even more intricate structures. We have plenty of room to grow.
I would be in serious trouble if the company switched to something else or returned to less sophisticated software. The intricate management system I built is what guides me through my days. When I feel like I lost track of my priorities, I always know where I should look to get back in the saddle.
Yes
Trello: there was simply not enough room for information, and it was hard to understand what was going on at a glance -- no screen was big enough to hold the information. Monday.com's structure and columns make it easier to understand the progress without having to drag things around. It was cumbersome after a while, and involved too many clicks to update tasks.

Using a trial is always hectic. You need to manage your existing workflow, and trying to set up a new one on the side can be daunting. It wasn't the case for monday.com. The import functions and the ease of use got me hooked instantly. I was lobbying for the subscription, and am still a strong supporter of it. I would be lost without it.
It was so simple to use monday.com, and has been ever since. I hardly think we would pick anything else if that were more complicated. Seeing that monday.com is a good fit for us was really really easy. Picking the right subscription was a bit trickier, but since we couldn't get the same value elsewhere, it wasn't a difficult choice.

Implementing monday.com is very easy if you already use a spreadsheet at least, to track your progress in different projects in any way.
  • no training
Yes, very easy to learn - I asked for help with customizing a few times, but you can just read the FAQ and Help and be fine, everything is visual and easy to understand, streamlined so you don't have to think a lot. I recommend experimenting and removing what you don't need in the end.
We migrated data from Trello, Google Sheets and our own brains and it worked seamlessly, we currently have some automations set too.
It's very easy to set to your own needs, even has API integration, eCommerce features, it has it all, and if it doesn't yet, they will do it for you within a few weeks/months, if it's not a very very specific need.
Import your spreadsheets and see what functionality you need for each column. Also, subitems are cool, explore them.
And email integrations are great! Check out what else you can integrate Monday.com with - if you use something that's not in the list, I'm sure you've won a small prize, they have so many things in there, that's hardly possible.
Yes - we have customized the interface extensively
All of our boards are unique, except for select few, that are using the original layout, but we add custom statuses to reflect each step in the processes we use.
We sometimes rearrange column orders on the go, if something is more important at one point than at another, it's always easy to put the visual focus where it is needed.
No - we have not done any custom code
Yes
Yes, they were professional about it.
When I was receiving confirmation emails about freelancers accepting my invitation, it was a really bothersome thing for me. They carried on professionally and helped me get the info I needed while they fixed the bug, and even thanked me for alerting them about it. I was very annoyed at first, but they turned the mood around.
  • Automated reminders of deadlines, and updating a deadline when a status changes.
  • Importing data from other task managers or spreadsheets.
  • Adding new tasks -- everything in a new row adds as a new task.
  • None.
Yes
They have an app. It doesn't have the same functionality as the desktop site, but it is perfect for staying on top of my tasks when I need to step out of the office.
  • Gmail
  • Trello
Trello was a migration process, and Gmail is an everyday update, for certain emails with certain words or characters in them, automatically creating new rows in assigned groups.
  • File import/export
  • Single Signon
It's visual and you can do it without any programming knowledge
Just do it! It makes life easier.

My team uses Monday.com to help keep track of where all their projects stand as far as due dates. It helps give you an organized view of everything you have going on and when things are due. It is also a very collaborative tool. I think it helps people know if they are on track or not with their project deadlines.
  • Keeps Track of Deadlines for Projects
  • Gives you a running list of everything you are working on
  • Lets your team and manager provide feedback and check in with status updates on each project
  • It'd be nice to have an app that can manage all your projects on the go
  • Getting started with Monday.com is a little challenging because they have so much to offer- it takes a little bit to get used to
  • It'd be nice if Monday.com sent progress reports at the end of each week that were automated, or sent alerts to you if you get behind on something.
Monday.com is great for users who have a lot of projects going on and need to keep track of what is due, and when. This program is less suitable for those who don't have very many projects or routine tasks to do. Monday.com is a really great organizational tool!

Monday.com is really easy to use once you are comfortable with the layout. In the beginning of using the program, it took some used to exploring things but that is with any product or software you are getting used to. The features were very friendly to use.
I haven't necessarily used the support myself, but team members have told me it has been helpful.
All of the features worked really well. I was impressed with the reliability of the program.

Monday.com is one of the better project management tools I have seen out there.
We did not use it for cross team collaboration but you easily could.

I would say technical people would do really well with Monday.com or even if you are not a technical person you would be able to figure it out. It might take some time in the beginning but I don't think you would need to be very computer savvy to figture it out.

  • Managing deadlines
  • Receiving feedback on project status
  • We were able to see how many projects were overlapping with each other

We ended up not renewing Monday, because new management came in and we ended up going with something that had more basic things in the software. Monday.com was nice because it had bells and whistles to it.

I don't want to have to pay extra for good service. I think it should be included with the purchase of the software.
Yes
I wished it would of been resolved within the hour but instead it was resolved within a few days.
When working through any issues, the staff was always very friendly. I appreciated them taking the time to explain what I needed to do to fix the issues.

  • Getting used to the program layout in the begining
You can manage a lot of projects but I'm not sure if I see it as scalable.
