We are using HubSpot to increase web traffic, online quoting, and new customer accounts from the web. It is being used primarily by the marketing department but sales is also using it for lead retrieval and contact info. Until using HubSpot, we were unable to easily create blog articles, landing pages, call to actions, or customer forms. We also were unable to track web leads before they became customers.
  • Landing Page Development - they make it easy for a marketer to create pages that are easily discovered and consistent with the website.
  • Blog Development - they make it easy to optimize blogs and make them more SEO friendly as well as provide analytics on individual entries.
  • Email - it is nice having all content needed for emails in one place. This makes it much easier to develop content around a newsletter and track contacts across all forms of content.
  • Support - They have a support line which can be called anytime during regular business hours...it is one of the things that sold me on the service to begin with and every time I use it I am satisfied with the result.
  • I wish there was more meat to the analytics dashboard. I still find myself using Google Analytics for more specific queries such as geographic data.
  • I wish there was a way to segregate the information from different social accounts inside the social inbox...not a big deal though.
  • The prospects feature is very cool but only works properly for companies that have their own internal IP address. So prospects who are using the IP address given to them by their ISP (probably 90%+ of all prospects) appear under the name of whoever the utility company is in that part of the world.
For in-house marketers who must wear many hats, HubSpot is definitely the way to go. If I did not have its tools for web marketing I would not be able to perform many of the other important functions of my job. Just having all my content stored in one place online is a major time saver.

All of our organization's marketing, social media, blog, and website are built on HubSpot. We couldn't live without it! Both our marketing and sales staff are using the tool. Several of us use it on a daily basis. It is also connected to our Salesforce platform so that we can connect contact insights to the account record. HubSpot increases our efficiency, and allows us to focus our attention on the visitors who matter most, rather than operating in an unfocused, “let’s please everyone” fashion. Using landing pages and forms, we gather information on our constituents' interests. Next, we use the lists to segment our main customer personas. Our team uses a variety of workflows to enhance engagement by creating "relationships" with people by automatically relaying additional opportunities for people to get involved based on their expressed interests. Since adopting HubSpot, we've saved 11% of our annual marketing budget by cutting ineffective traditional marketing activities and by practicing inbound marketing instead.
  • Creating, editing, and sending emails. VERY easy and user-friendly. Also easy to add them into a set - or workflow - of emails that will send in a timed fashion automatically.
  • Tracking interaction with all of our channels (social, blog, emails, websites). We can measure ROI and track engagement using the HubSpot dashboard and quickly make decisions to change strategy or stop something that is not working.
  • Content optimization for our website -- our site is built on the HubSpot COS so we can show relevant content to visitors based on previous interaction and knowledge we have of them. This allows for personalization and more relevancy for the visitor.
  • I have to say that HubSpot has made significant improvements to the UI since we began using it.
There are different subscription levels based on the number of contacts in the database, so it is important to consider how many you currently have and where you think you will grow to when choosing your subscription level. Also, if press releases and the tracking of them is important, HubSpot does not have an integration for that.

HubSpot is a crucial piece of our overall success at ROI Online. We are currently converting all of our clients into the HubSpot platform. All of our employees are at the very least, Inbound Certified and have representatives that have all of the certifications. We address problems of all kinds through the HubSpot platform. One of my main duties is to properly redirect 404 errors to the correct link using the COS URL Mapping function in content settings. This is a great and simple tool that is used to simply redirect faulty links to working locations within the site. Another important tool that I use in HubSpot is the design manager. This is where you make everything look good and show off what the organization is about! I recommend HubSpot for all small startup companies!
  • Certifications- Inbound, HubSpot, COS
  • Has the potential to be HUGE
  • Easy to use for new and upcoming businesses
  • COS URL Mapping is a great feature for 404 redirects
  • Easier communication tool (chat with other users in account)
Any company that is in need of a website needs HubSpot. It will not only gives access to making the website, but unlocks a door with unlimited marketing resources.

At our company, we use HubSpot for a number of inbound marketing techniques, including blogging, landing pages, campaigns, social media and analytics; we will soon begin implementing workflows as well. HubSpot is used across the whole organization, including the Content Department, Creative Department and Analytics/Tech Department.
  • Analytical data used for capturing leads
  • Ample training opportunities for users
  • Expert advice and customer service for users
  • The blog often seems to experience glitches
  • Load time often lags
  • Time outs are frequent
One of the first questions we ask a potential client we are vetting for HubSpot is, "What are your goals." If their answer aligns with HubSpot's philosophy, we move forward. If a client, for example, just wants to show up No. 1 in a Google search, they may not be the best fit for all that HubSpot has to offer. The client, while they do not have to be familiar with inbound marketing, needs to have a marketing mindset and be willing to learn.

It is being used by the Center for Distance Education as a lead generation source for our fully online degree programs. It is currently our only lead source for the admissions unit.

We needed a solution that would integrate our online promotion elements (web pages, offers, blogs, landing pages) into a cohesive set of tools.
  • Workflows are particularly helpful for our small staff. We know that a lead will get contacted with our offers and communications in a timely fashion.
  • The blogging tool is feature-rich and foolproof. It prompts you to include or clarify various elements (key words, etc.) before it goes live.
  • The training videos are excellent. I watch them often and repeatedly to grasp or refresh on a topic
  • The whole inbound concept has been harnessed by HubSpot. Even while we were implementing landing pages, leads were coming in because of the sound structure of the templates.
  • Concepts like the Buyer Persona and the Buyer's Journey are helpful to those new to inbound marketing as they paint a clear picture of who your trying to reach with your product or service.
  • For application in education, it would help if there some training videos tailored for higher education. Many who work in higher ed are not marketers per se and need hand holding through the early phases of implementation.
  • The "starting point" becomes blurred, I think. We started with personas as a concept, and shifted to technical tools like offers and landing pages in the application. A walk-through of a sample set up would be good in an early phone call.
Thought I'm not a marketer or business person, I think the question is "Where isn't HubSpot appropriate?" The list would be short I think.

I am a small start-up business and I've recently started using HubSpot to help me with my inbound marketing in an effort to help grow my business. The product appealed to me due to the fact that everything to do with my marketing efforts could be controlled from one central place.
  • The training resources that HubSpot offers are invaluable. They are very informative and a definite bonus for anyone who may be new to, or struggles with understanding marketing.
  • The service received from HubSpot is excellent. You get the support of a personal Account Manager who is always available to offer advice and assistance and the response time and helpfulness from the Support Team is fantastic
  • The HubSpot software is easy to use, even for those who may not be used to working with this kind of system. There are an abundance of resources to explain how everything works and support is always available if you do run into any issues.
  • I am sure there are features of HubSpot where there is room for improvement, however I don't feel that I've been using the system for long enough to have come across anything at the moment that I can pinpoint.
I would recommend HubSpot to anyone who is looking to grow and maintain their customer database, as it incorporates all the aspects of inbound marketing and I think it would be useful to any business whether they are new or established.

Our organization uses HubSpot's software for our marketing automation, lead generation and analytics needs. Our marketing and new business team uses HubSpot's platform on a daily basis, to automate and optimize the lead conversion process, and conduct regular marketing email campaigns. HubSpot is critical in our company's lead generation tactics, through every part of the funnel. We consistently need to be generating new leads, and having high quality landing pages and the latest technology available (responsive page design, smart forms, etc.) allows us to accomplish this. Utilizing features like smart lists and workflows saves us a great deal of time - a much needed benefit when working in such a small team.
  • The landing page builder is very robust, yet simple to use. HubSpot worked with our team to design the page template, and now creating pages and forms for our content is a breeze. Keeping track of all the components of the conversion process can be cumbersome, but HubSpot's intuitive layout ensures nothing gets overlooked.
  • Creating custom Calls to Action for our blog posts is another helpful aspect of the HubSpot platform. We utilize the A/B testing feature, and can easily swap out those that are not performing as well.
  • The HubSpot Salesforce connector has been a huge help to our company's productivity. Syncing contacts and information has never been easier between the two platforms, and the direct import feature from Salesforce to HubSpot ensures our lists are always up to date when we need them.
  • Tracking certain metrics, such as customer conversions is difficult for our organization in particular, in a B2B services company. HubSpot is fundamentally organized around the individual contact, so I've found it hard to track our "customers" in HubSpot, businesses which we may have more than one contact record for.
  • We have the Salesforce connector in place, which keeps contacts in sync between the two systems, and creates notes ("Activities") whenever someone is sent, opens, or clicks within one of our emails. I've experienced the occasional issue where many duplicate Activities get synced over on the Salesforce record for a single action for some reason. I have not experienced this often, and it is possible to delete the duplicates within Salesforce when it does, but we have not been able to identify the root of the problem.
  • When sending out an email, the footer "powered byHubSpot" is automatically appended to the very bottom of the email - sometimes this can interfere with the effectiveness of how the email comes off to the recipient.
Key questions to ask would start with how well the HubSpot platform will mesh with your current systems in place (analytics tools, CRM, website platform, etc.). Make sure that all of the components of HubSpot that you hope to use - landing pages, forms, emails, social media publisher, reporting and analytics, whatever it may be - will be able to be used effectively for your situation.

Our company uses HubSpot to analyze the performance of our website and landing pages. There are two offices that currently use HubSpot in our organization however, I would encourage all offices in our global network to use the tool. The reason we use the tool is to test how are content programs are doing, the success of specific pieces of content can help us plan, strategize, and use marketing time and dollars more efficiently.
  • CUSTOMER SERVICE is excellent. Our team members are always there to help, answer questions, and offer important strategic advice that we rely on to move forward with our plans.
  • UPDATES to the tool are well thought out and released purposefully. The updates always make sense and address everything we were thinking about them doing.
  • EVENTS have been put on throughout our tenure that engage the users and are really fun.
  • Integration into Wordpress would be amazing. Our company policy dictates that we use WordPress blog and therefore, we are not able to use HubSpot to analyze data there.
- Are you willing to change over your blog provider?
- How much content are you actually going to post?
- From the knowledge gained, would you be willing to change your content strategy?

Our company uses HubSpot for all our marketing outreach, particularly for managing our blog and email communications.
  • Blogging
  • Email management
  • CRM
  • Dashboard
  • Reporting
  • Email workflow management
HubSpot does a really nice job managing and publishing blog posts. The analytics are solid, although not exceptional. It's also very helpful for crafting emails and e-newsletters, allowing for plenty of "smart" fields and customization. Social media management is nice, particularly the ability to schedule and monitor Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and G+ posts all in one place. Reporting continues to be mediocre, as does advanced control of multiple email campaigns.

We use HubSpot across marketing and sales. It gives us insight into who's visiting our website, opening our emails and reading the content we produce.
  • User-friendly interfaces.
  • Education - excellent resources available for any marketing topic you can imagine, lots of helpful guides, Inbound conference is unbeatable.
  • Analytics - gives us everything we need to know about how our website and marketing efforts perform and more.
  • The workflow feature was a little cumbersome previously, but we've found it much easier to use with the recently introduced improvements.
It is well-suited where there is a team in place, willing to dedicate the time and energy to really learning how to use the product every day.

Hubspot is used by marketing mostly but some of the reporting too;s are used by the owners. Since implementing the software it has cut down design time and spend for website updates and additions. It has helped solve lots of SEO questions and also helped improve our SEO efforts. The automation process has also saved lots of time in our efforts to stay in touch and convert target clients.
  • Easy of use and creation of digital content ex: landing pages, blogs
  • Social tools are great, the social inbox tool helps contact and remain in front of your customers on social media.
  • Contact management tools are also easy to use and intuitive. The ability to see where all of your contacts have come from and the analytics that brought them there.
  • content creation: check out Canva as an example of a content creation tool that could be added to the software to truly push into the all in one digital marketing suite.
This product is better suited for the digital marketing landscape only. There are no tools for the traditional marketer and there are not many traditional marketers left.

HubSpot is used by our Marketing Department for our leads funnel. My partner and I work with the system on a daily basis to bring in leads, post blogs and social media, along with managing the consistent content that we share with our readers and incoming prospects. We also marry this system with our Salesforce platform to track customers throughout their customer life cycle.
  • Landing Pages. HubSpot makes it super easy for people to create and manage landing pages without having to know detailed code.
  • Blogging. HubSpot makes blogging easy by tracking things like your SEO impact through how links, CTAs and keywords you use in your piece.
  • Social Media. HubSpot has a great social media platform, but it's very Twitter based. I think that they need to step up on their game in other areas like Facebook and make so that posting is an easier resource, similar to Hootsuite.
  • Uniting with Salesforce. Though the 2 systems do in fact work together, we have run into some issues when it comes to marking customers off that have been entered into our Salesforce database.
For a marketing company, HubSpot is great. It offers an easy platform that can truly track customers and their lifecycle.

As an online marketing agency, we use it mainly for our clients. We use it to design landing page, to manage our content and calls-to-actions, forms, and so on. We also use the analytics section to do our reports and to have a better understanding of what should be prioritized in our efforts.
  • Ease of use : people that have no programming experience can design landing pages, emails, social media publishing... It really is easy to use and to understand.
  • Integrated : We can do everything related to the Inbound Methodology. The Hubspot solution is quite complete and combines a lot of functionalities.
  • Workflows : Being able to do workflows and chain of events depending of actions people make on our website is simply amazing!
  • Social Media Monitoring : only for twitter, which I don't really use this much. Should be working on Facebook and LinkedIn!
  • Custom theme : When I created my Hubspot account, i was working on a new website, and the custom theme was made out of the old version of the website... I was sad that we could not adapt it without paying additional fees.
To my knowledge, Hubspot is really a good tool compared to what is available on the market!
Questions to ask would definitely be the list of functionalities, pricing and case studies.

We use Hubspot as our marketing automation platform and our CRM. It's primarily used by marketing, but our customer success department and partner team use it as well. Hubspot helps us attract new leads to our website, nurture and qualify those leads to a point where we can hand them off to sales to convert into customers. We track the entire lifecycle from lead to customer, and then from customer to evangelist.
  • Inbound Marketing Principles. Hubspot provides a theoretical framework for marketing in the digital age. First, you learn the principles and then there is a tool (Hubspot) to execute on those principles. It's not simply an email marketing tool with some workflows. It's a marketing platform based on a specific way to market to the modern buyer.
  • Simplicity. The Hubspot UI is very intuitive and requires very little training.
  • Continued Education. Hubspot has invested a lot in customer service and self-service resources. If you have a question, the knowledge base is incredible. If that doesn't work, just pick-up the phone. Seriously... they're that good.
  • I would like a 100% customizable dashboard that could be configured by user login. So, based on profile, the dashboard would reports that were relevant to that person. Example: as a director, I am concerned with MQLs. My VP on the other hand is concerned with Opportunities. Being able to configure customized dashboards would be huge.
Cost. I've recommended Hubspot to a lot of people and many have come back and say they can't afford it. If a potential Hubspot customer is sold on Inbound Marketing, it will make sense and they will be able to justify the cost. If not, they'll probably go elsewhere. I expect "lightweight" Hubspot knock-off products to hit the market soon as it's an area that is not covered well currently. Pardot, Marketo, etc. are not options here as they really don't address Inbound as well as Hubspot and are equal in price if not more.

We use HubSpot to manage marketing across 4 different branded divisions in our software company. It has been a great tool to help us manage content, implement lead nurturing, control social media and implement an inbound marketing strategy across our company. It's great for reporting and easy to use. I really appreciate all the guidance, training and overall marketing advice that Hubspot provides.
  • Marketing training and advice -- great webinars, articles and content help you discover best practices. Hubspot really practices what it preaches when it comes to inbound marketing.
  • Having everything in one spot makes it easy to update web content, create landing pages, create new forms, manage contacts, do lead nurturing, send emails, etc. It all ties together.
  • Reporting is basic but instructive and easy to follow.
  • Hubspot has been gradually changing over their content management tools -- and our main website content editors are the last to convert. This makes it a bit confusing as there are different "styles" in different areas of the product, and sometimes getting things formatted just the way you want it is difficult. I have high hopes for the future though with the new tools they are developing.
  • I wish we could manage multiple domains into the same account, so we could make use of the same lead nurturing and contact databases while managing content for different websites.
  • Some of the reporting could use improvement. Certain things are not super easy -- for instance just to see how many conversions we had off a particular email campaign is a bit more involved than you might expect.
Overall, I think Hubspot is a great product. It can get quite expensive especially as my understanding is that you have to have the enterprise version to integrate e-commerce, which is a bummer for smaller businesses. Our costs have gone up substantially over the years as our database has grown.

We use Hubspot for all of our marketing automation to get potential trialers to try out our software. We use behavior targeting to convert more website visitors to leads and then leads over to trialers.
We create custom content and a/b test landing pages to increase conversions. We are in the process of using Hubspot to manage our customer success lifecycle of our current customers and get them to be stickier and have a longer lifetime value.

  • E-mail campaigns
  • Landing pages
  • Marketing automation via smart lists and managing behavior based workflows
  • Large learning curve - it's overwhelming
  • Integrating seamlessly with other systems - requires a fair amount of dev time to integrate with Salesforce
  • Takes a while to setup - need a large time committment up front to extract value from the product.
Hubspot is the best in the business. It's the easiest to use and it's incredibly powerful software. We worry that we are not maximizing our value of the software, as there really are endless possibilities. They are amazing at content marketing and has completely "flipped the funnel" on its head when it comes to acquiring new customers. We rely heavily on Hubspot and it has helped our business tremendously.

HubSpot is used by the sales and marketing teams. It provides us with a full marketing automation and intellegence system.
  • Gives detailed MI on all contacts/ leads/ customers
  • Great blog tools
  • Great support
  • Cumbersome content editing system
  • The customer 'contact' system means some of our leads get over written. We are looking to resolve but this is very problematic.
We use HubSpot across the marketing department to give us extensive information on leads and prospects. We are looking to understand their customer journey and the resources that have worked for them. We also use it to schedule emails, manage our blog, schedule social messages and create ad hoc landing pages.

At KBK Communications we use HubSpot daily for all of our clients and for ourselves. We are an agency and we manage all of our clients Inbound Marketing needs. HubSpot addresses the automation problem that was prevalent early on in the business, and has helped us to become more creative and have more freedom to create more successful and targeted campaigns.
  • Workflow Automation. They complexity of workflows can overwhelm even the most seasoned marketed, and Hubspot has taken these complex strategies and automated them to make them useful us to help nurture our leads.
  • Email Marketing. They have created a software that lets you have the freedom to create your perfect marketing email, with the anayltics to back up how it performed better than any system I have used previously.
  • Support. Their support is unlike any other. They have some of the best people around who truly want to help you solve your problem no matter how big or how small.
  • List Anayltics
  • Reporting
  • Social Reach Analytics
Honestly, you just need to ask what you want to get out of HubSpot. There is never a right or wrong question when looking for the perfect marketing automation software for your organization, but knowing what you need to get out of it and being upfront with those needs is key.

I remember the days before HubSpot. We used to do a incredible job, but we needed something more. We needed to get to the next level. So, after we began to see that we needed some marketing tools that could partially automate our work and be super easy to use, we chose HubSpot. And it was the best decision that we did for marketing in general.
  • Customer Support - Seriously, HubSpot does AWESOME Customer Support. Their consultant team is great, their customer support team always is there for us!
  • It's easy to use - Sure, there's a learning curve but it's so simple and fun to do, that we actually love when HubSpot puts out new stuff. And even when we have any kind of doubt or difficulty, we use their customer support.
  • There are some minor things that we miss on the workflow sections - Like if/then steps, A/B testing and etcetera.
  • There is one thing that drives me crazy - Everything in HubSpot is based on lists. It's awesome but, sometimes, minor things become more complex, because we need to create a list to create rules. Example: When you want to limit the number of emails that your customers receive for week.
  • We miss some dashboards and better ways to analyze HubSpot. Besides that, we are a Brazilian company, and when we export a .csv file, it always gets messy with unicode errors.
If you already use an marketing alternative like HubSpot, you should research the cost to change the process. But if you are choosing your first solution like this, I definitely recommend HubSpot! :)

HubSpot is being used within our marketing function to orchestrate all of our inbound and outbound marketing activities. It is connected to SalesForce and our sales teams also have access to it. HubSpot solves our issue of a fragmented marketing effort by bringing together a single pane of glass view of all of our activities and the functionality to support emails, social media, blogs and web content.
  • The WISWYG editor is particuarly strong
  • Nice global metrics dashboard
  • Intuitive - navigating around and the way the software works just makes sense
  • The social media bulk updater tool which was changed so you couldn't post in bulk was a step backwards.
It would be wise to discuss issues surrounding data transfer between SalesForce and HubSpot to ensure there is enough capacity. Depending on the implementation of SalesForce and the scope of your project with HubSpot, it is possible there could be problems in terms of the data allowance. Also it makes sense to find out exactly what information can be tracked and how joined up your efforts will be. Not every persona and activity is possible to track.

HubSpot is the center of our sales, marketing and recruiting world. It is used in various forms across our entire organization. Sales uses it to get leads, Marketing to track everything, Recruiting to post jobs, and everyone blogs. HubSpot is our one stop shop for everything related to the web.
  • Hubspot provides outstanding marketing information. In particular I like the weekly review of activity that comes to me via email.
  • The website builder/manager makes it ridiculously easy to keep the site up to date
  • Everyone on the team can blog. New talent can start with little training. This makes it so the content team has to do little work to keep it up.
  • I see very little room for improvement although they do. New features, usually well thought out, come out on a regular basis. As a user rather than a developer I can attest to the fact it has a great balance of simplicity and thoroughness.
I have recommended HubSpot to a huge variety of people, from my local acupuncturist to a large manufacturing client of mine. Each has it's own set of questions and concerns and I find it difficult to come up with specific questions everyone needs to ask.

We use HubSpot across the sales and marketing departments to give us detailed information on prospects and leads particularly how they found us and their research journey. We also use it to schedule emails to our contacts and track success of our blog etc.
  • Lead history including source, page views and visits
  • Tracking blog success
  • Tracking lead generation
  • Great support when you need it at all stages of using Hubspot
  • The email editing can be quite cumbersome, the fonts and spacing can have a mind of their own sometimes
  • Blog edits can take a long time as you can't jump straight to edit in the drop down listing, you have to enter the record first
What systems do you need HubSpot to integrate with?

I personally used HubSpot on our company website. Our company also uses HubSpot for our clients. We used HubSpot for lead generation for ourselves and our clients.
  • Their landing pages where easy to build.
  • All form fills operated very well.
  • We were able to generate a significant number of leads.
  • Could be more user friendly
  • The functionality was a little bumpy

We mainly use HubSpot to manage email communications with our subscribers, this constitutes 90% of our usage. We send emails about our latest product changes, invites to webinars, reminders, notifications about new blogposts, and to distribute content. The remaining 10% of the usage is to host landing pages, manage our blog, and keep an eye on prospects.
  • Manage emails and workflows. In my opinion this is HubSpot's main strength, to trigger and manage workflows based on the buyer's journey.
  • HubSpot's lead scoring is also really handy. It's a great way to loop in sales on any marketing initiatives.
  • The ability to look back at contact and see their level of engagement over time.
  • The landing page is very rigid, in that it's hard to customize it quickly on the go.
  • To set up a new workflow you need to jump into 3-4 tools to get everything prepped and ready to go. Set up a list, a landing page, possible a new form, etc. It would be nice to have the workflow as a central location, and from there a user can quickly create an email, a list, a landing page.
  • Since we used HubSpot for emailing our subscribers we often find our selves having to make a specific list for a specific targeted email. It would be great if from within the email tool, you can quickly specify conditions that need to be met to create a list. In other words, creating a list on the go.
  • More flexibility on the conditions that can set to determine how a workflow folds out.
  • The ability to add multiple exit conditions for a workflow. This would be good where there 2+ streams of content, where a user can enter into any of which and be taken across the rest over time.
HubSpot is a great tool to use to develop your content strategy. The support and content they provide are both very helpful, especially for the novice marketer like myself. HubSpot is good for a team looking to pump out content quickly, and organize contact history, and workflows.

I'm the sole user of HubSpot, and I could not do my job without it. We're a small integrative medicine EMR company (the only one of its kind) and I do everything on HubSpot. If not for HubSpot, I'd need to do 100 different programs, and would lose track of it all.
  • Metrics/page performance report
  • Social inbox (letting me schedule Tweets ahead of time)
  • Corralling all the SEO-related stuff for the blog
  • Top notch help all the time
  • Not sure.
You really need to be a go-getter to teach yourself this stuff. If you don't have anyone who's used HubSpot or to train you, you can't sit back and expect to learn by osmosis. You have to dedicate yourself to taking the webinars, watching the videos, reading the posts, everything.
