The challenge these teams face is that everyone today expects a personalized experience whenever they interact with a company - they don’t have patience for generic marketing and the last thing they want is a cold call from sales. Marketo is being used in our entire Marketing department. It addresses the need to automate sales and marketing tasks on a daily basis. Emails blasts for every event, webinar, and sales promotions are being done through marketo. Our database in Marketo holds majority of the company's bookings for MQL generations.
  • Email campaigns are easily done because of the templates
  • Scheduled campaigns are very efficient for big enterprises
  • Landing page creation with forms integrated inside helps with the engagement of users
  • When customizing emails, it takes time to load for each command that is being promt
  • Buggy pages. I always need to refresh the page
  • Slow auto-saving
Marketo is really convenient to use and it is very efficient when it comes to automating manual tasks such as email blasts. The only downside is loading of pages takes time and is not always fast.

We use Adobe Marketo Engage for a variety of activities across our marketing department. Mainly we use for nurture programs, ad hoc emails, and webinars. The only problem we have with Adobe Marketo Engage is it can become a bit slow when editing emails. We have talked to relevant people to sort out the issues.
  • Email Nurture Programs.
  • Data Analytics.
  • Organisation.
  • Speed of edits.
  • More modules to choose from.
  • Copy email program name.
Adobe Marketo Engage program is great at supporting nurture campaigns. I love how integrated the program is amongst all the applications we use. It makes multi-channel marketing seamless. Personally, I use Adobe Marketo Engage more for ad hoc emails and it is great at organization. Overall, a great tool to use.

Adobe Marketo Engage is our main platform to nurture leads and engage them. We have a large basis and with Marketo it's possible to use a large variety of segmentation, and triggers and also, personalize forms and LP to provide us with the data we really need and use.
  • Nurture Campaigns
  • Batch Emails
  • Triggers and Segmentation
  • Design Studio
Marketo is well built and largely used in big corporations. With Marketo pieces of training and academy, it's possible to train employees and collaborators. With the certifications, it's possible to check the knowledge of the tool/software.
I don't think there are scenarios where the tool wouldn't be useful.

I mainly use Adobe Marketo Engage for automation purposes. There has been a recent migration project, integrating 2 instances in to one. The only negative thing has been migrating programs. Which we can only do 1 program at a time and it is VERY slow to do so.
  • Building content is easy
  • analytics
  • integrating with Salesforce
  • migration speed.
building emails/landing pages and integrating with SF makes capturing leads for the sales team does very well.
When migrating content to another instance, it should not take weeks due to only being able to migrate 1 program at a time.

Adobe Marketo Engage is a good software for Marketing automation and building strong campaign. We use it for sending email, build forms and landing page and qualify the lead with our CRM. We take all the advantage that the tool offer like lead scoring and also nurturing prospect. The support team and large communities is always available and helpful.
  • Segmentation
  • Lead scoring
  • Form creation
  • Email template
  • Design interface
  • Integration with Dynamics
In any case, I recommend to take your time at the beginning to make training and paid formation Core 1 and 2. The functionalities are very great when you know how using the tool. I used Active campaign and Mailchimp and Marketo is more complex but also more powerful to make campaigns with a lot of assets, form and landing page.

It is used as a Marketing automation platform, and a centralized tool for most of our marketing activities. We have also integrated marketo with various other tools to support the marketing activity. I am responsible to coordinate globally with marketing professionals, to implement and make the best of marketing technologies. Also support the Marketing organization with the execution of marketing tactics through the existing systems. Marketo has also helped us in the setup of lead management, lead lifecycle, lead scoring, data management, opt-in, and other complex functionalities.
  • Data Normalization
  • Segmenting
  • Lead Scoring
  • Nurture Programs
  • Reporting at more granular level
  • Velocity Scripting
  • Tokens
  • Time taken for segmentation approval
Well suited for the setup of lead management, lead lifecycle, lead scoring, data management, opt-in, and other complex functionalities. It is less appropriate in time taking to process lists or smart campaigns or segmentations.

Marketo is the replacement for our previous marketing automation platform. We use it for lead management, email marketing, sales enablement, marketing analytics, and corporate strategy.
  • Ease of implementation.
  • Creating templates.
  • Automations
  • Analytics
  • Integration with Adobe Creative Cloud.
Marketo was the right choice for our organization to unify our databases. We used dynamics and needed to integrate our marketing capabilities.

We use it as a marketing cloud b2b integrated with Salesforce as a campaign manager; it seems to work fine, but it is hard to get things customized as we try to develop new templates, and most of the team does not know HTML is a must if you want to edit things in Marketo. Also, some of the use cases are hard to implement as Marketo does not have a lot of out-of-the-box content.
  • Hard to edit HTML.
  • One field to sync contacts.
  • Emails can't be address to secondary email address.
  • Better templates.
  • Better use for non technical users.
  • Better guides.
It is suitable for users that have no experience in marketing cloud and need to take their first step but not develop big scenarios. It can be very useful if your campaign is exactly as planned for the programmers in Marketo; otherwise, it will be hard to carry out. It's easy in some cases.

We use Adobe Marketo Engage for our core business practices including marketing, automation and managing data. We also use it to automate account-based marketing and other services including SEO and content creation.
  • Automation
  • scale automated marketing campaigns
  • behavior tracking
We use Abode Marketo Engage for achieving real-time personalization through marketing automation, engagement marketing, consumer engagement and management of marketing campaigns. Customer support should also be checked on every payment plan. Simple marketing solutions can be hard to come by when Marketo's pricing is complex. If you have a strong background in software or analytics, Abode Marketo's emphasis on custom solutions will be helpful, but if you do not, it can be a headache.

Good software, there are some confusing parts and it takes a long time and a big learning curve, but after you get used to it, it is good. I wish that it was easier to learn, some things are more complicated than they should be. Overall a good program that I and my employer use daily for our main email operations.
  • Easy editor
  • Good analytics
  • Easy to download analytics
  • needs better interface
  • needs better way to find what you need
  • it is too hard to find what you need
Very good program, it is too complicated to navigate the interface but other than that the functionality is very good and it is very useful. Marketo is a key part of my company that we use daily and I do not know where we would be without it. It does need improvement though, the interface and navigating the program are too complicated and can be made easier to navigate.

I use Marketo on a daily basis at my company. It is definitely a key part of our demand generation strategy-- from database management to lead sorting, to segmentation, to email nurture programs, etc. Each campaign and activity I support almost always involves Marketo. In addition, our Marketo instance is synced with Salesforce, so the bidirectional flow of data is incredibly powerful and useful.
  • Database segmentation.
  • Email nurture.
  • Demand generation programs.
  • Better engagement report dashboard.
  • More Marketo university videos.
  • More granular insight.
I've used Pardot and Mailchimp (other marketing automation tools), and I definitely think Marketo is more robust and useful. I like how Marketo's smart campaign feature allows one to make data value changes easily. In addition, its sync with Salesforce allows my company to route leads quickly and efficiently over to our sales team for rapid follow-up.

I utilize Adobe Marketo Engage for the creation and management of marketing and sales campaigns. I create emails, landing pages, and direct-lead campaigns for promotions and customer engagement.
  • In my opinion, Adobe Marketo Engage does a phenomenal job at confusing new users. It easily has the highest learning curve compared to its competitors and is a great challenge for anyone used to modern interface design.
  • Adobe Marketo Engage is easily the main focus of my daily workload. Does it need to be? Not exactly. But, I feel it does a phenomenal job at making a simple task take much longer than it should.
  • Adobe Marketo Engage is an awesome throw-back for anyone who misses the elegance of early-2000s database software. Is it pretty? In my opinion, no. Is it easy to use? In my experience, no. But when there aren't random lag spikes causing pages to take 30 seconds to load, the interface is surprisingly snappy and responsive (thanks, of course, to the simplicity of its early-2000s interface).
  • In my opinion, the interface is atrocious. You'd think Adobe-designed software would be at the cutting edge of interface development, but I feel there isn't a single competitor who has a higher learning curve. Not only is it unintuitive, but, in my opinion, it doesn't have any semblance of design standards. It seems the Marketo Engage marketing team is literally embarrassed by the design, being that it crops down the interface in almost every product shot.
  • Everything - and I mean everything - is overcomplicated. There is a fine line between allowing companies to have control in their organization and formatting conventions and putting up guardrails so things don't end up a clustered mess. It seems the Marketo Engage development team didn't want to implement any guardrails whatsoever. Except, of course, in my opinion, the terrible implementation of templates. I understand the desire to create organizational standards for corporate communications, but that does not mean restricting literally everything but face-level changes. The template landing page development experience is probably the worst time I've ever had in "web development." It would make a world of difference if it were like the email designer -- which, in itself, has issues.
  • I'm not sure the Email Designer can even be called WYSIWYG. Your email will look great in the designer and in previews, but don't expect to be done when you finish designing it. You're only half the way there. You have another hour or two just trying to figure out why Outlook, Gmail, and every other email program renders your email differently. It'd be nice to have on-screen warnings when you do something that won't be supported and by which program. For that matter, the entire designer should be built to improve your email. Give feedback when there's "spam words" in the copy. Auto-generate subject line suggestions based on the copy using words and formatting that is proven to increase clicks.
  • The ability to send email campaigns based on time zones is great, but there's absolutely no intelligence when a data scientist could have a field day with all the fantastic open-and-click data. Multiple competitors use send time optimization and intelligent, personalized send time features to make sure you inbox exactly when needed.
  • In my opinion, there's no intelligence to Adobe Marketo Engage. It does what it is supposed to do, but that's it. There are no improvement recommendations (anywhere!), and it doesn't utilize the mountain of engagement data it has to further drive and increase metrics. There are a ton of opportunities here that are just being overlooked.
Adobe Marketo Engage is great for a team or company that has everything already created and managed by an outside team. For example: if you have an agency doing all the work and you just need to post things. If you are a creator, however, in my opinion, it is one of the worst tools out there. Not just artistically but in all levels of content design.

Marketo is a great tool for marketers to run marketing campaigns. I've used it for over 9 years at different companies. It's user friendly and powerful.
  • Easy to use
  • Powerful features
  • Scalable (with tokens and templates)
  • Better analytics
  • Expensive
  • Always get pop-ups with error messages (but can just close them and keep using)
For email marketers, Marketo is essential to do your job. You can segment your audience however you like. It integrates with SFDC.

Adobe Marketo Engage is the leading engagement that empowers marketers to build brand value, grow revenue, and prove impact.
I like it enables us to create robust marketing sales channel, manage marketing campaigns, create a manage marketing forms and landing pages, track our campaigns success easily.
I like the LaunchPoint functionality which enables us to integrate Marketo with mltiple platforms such as LinkedIn, LeadGen, Facebook Ads, and 6Sense.
Just like any other tool it requires skilled or user to undergo the learning curve, it's a great campaign management tool with maximum capabilities.
  • Adobe Marketo Engage allows us to build suitable marketing sales prospects, organise marketing campaigns design marketing apps, and sales funnel.
  • Measure the effectiveness of our campaigns, and establish the correct flows to permit almost any feature.
  • The Marketo Launch Point functionalities allows us to interface it with a variety of system and tools like social media, and have a prospect data filled immediately into our program.
  • Steep learning curve, it takes real effort to study and comprehend the features to get the best out of it.
  • Also data segmentation may get extremely puzzling while using many filters.
It's obvious I would recommend Marketo Engage because it offers all-in-one marketing management tool kit. I really like the capability you have to store our campaign programs into folders where is easy to access and manage them effectively.
I like the support team very quickly to respond quickly to all our challenges and resolve any problems easily.

I use Marketo Engage for emails and landing pages, and it's helpful for tracking activity to our various audiences. We send out newsletters regularly and also communications and web pages specifically for events that we're able to tie campaign activity to using Marketo. The system also integrates with our CRM and other marketing tech stack to be able to see who is engaged (prospects, clients, partners).
  • Well organized system
  • Easy to use
  • Seamless integration with other applications
  • Can be complex
  • Set up and learning processes may take time
  • Sometimes difficult to drill into specific data to find insights
Marketo Engage seems well suited for any digital campaign. It may not work as well for situations where physical tracking is required, or may need additional integrations with other systems to be able to fully analyze activity outside of the digital realm. If you are using software that doesn't integrate with Adobe Engage, then it may be difficult to garner insights.

We use Marketo for all things automation and marketing. For emails, forms, lead scoring, etc., we take advantage of what all Marketo has to offer. When someone submits a contact form on our website, they are stored in Marketo, scored based on other interactions, added to our email newsletter, and then the information is sent to our CRM. Marketo handles a lot of the work for us.
  • Robust
  • Many capabilities.
  • Easy data management.
  • Could be more intuitive.
  • More out-of-the-box capabilities versus having to create custom solutions.
Adobe Marketo Engage is ideal for larger companies. It has a lot to offer, but on the flip side, it is a lot spendier than many other automation platforms. Smaller companies likely would not need all of the capabilities, and it would be much too costly for those smaller companies.

Use for multiple clients to send emails, host landing pages, manage database, implement customer relationship management sync, establish third party integrations. Database management, troubleshooting. Tracking of promotional efforts for return on investment attribution. Use for multiple business problems including need to increase revenue and pipeline, increase user engagement, improve sales enablement.
  • Third party integrations - many native integrations.
  • Security - plenty of transparency and documentation.
  • Support - great support staff able to answer questions.
  • Email templates - not great out of the box email templates.
  • Landing page templates - same thing, they're not great and not mobile friendly.
  • Seed lists - make it easy to send people copies of deployed emails.
Well suited for business to business organizations that use salesforce with more than one hundred thousand records in their database. Less appropriate for healthcare or business to consumer organizations. Good for teams that have experience with it as it's complex, will be hard to enter in a team where no one has used it before.

Abode Marketo Engage is our CMS tool which we have synced to Salesforce. We use it for all of our marketing communications and have recently started using the landing page tool. We have our lead scoring system built into it which makes the process of sending leads over to Salesforce seamless; therefore only sending over qualified leads.
  • Nice upgraded user interface
  • Training academy
  • I love how everything is grouped
  • It's a bit long winded
  • Can't visualize drip campaigns
  • It's all a bit manual
I think Adobe Marketo Engage is well suited for enterprise-size companies. I feel the level of complexities it goes into wouldn't necessarily work for a smaller organization. What I think works really well is the different campaign types. Where I think it doesn't really work is when you just need to do little one-off things. Everything still has to go into a campaign

We use Marketo mainly for email marketing and campaigns. We also use the analytics tabs, which help us look at which emails are performing well and which are not based on certain criteria.

  • Better analytics that's less complex.

Adobe Marketo Engage allows us to automate emails and refine our lead database by tracking the analytics of our campaigns. It's a platform used daily to manage everyday needs within our product delivery.
  • Tracking bounced emails
  • Simplified modules for creating new emails
  • Simple search feature
  • More usage customization in terms of visual elements
  • Ability to auto clean up and format created items
  • Better cross-platform abilities
Adobe Marketo Engage is easy to use for creating new campaigns. I find cloning emails we previously had to fit new drives need one of the more resourceful options. Some platform mobility feels outdated because you can't drag and drop items into streams, and renaming items are only available on a specific page.

We use Marketo as our MAP integrated into all our paid platforms, webinar platforms, and CRM (Salesforce). I recently migrated it from Pardot, and with all the best practices used during the setup, Marketo has already helped us achieve a 5.5M revenue. The API endpoints that we use have resulted in a more streamlined process with great results. There was no lead lifecycle or scoring previously, which led to a blind side of the marketing efforts, and now with Marketo, we measure every detail of it.
  • Lead Lifecycle - Helps us to identify prospects in different stages of their buyer journey and report on it.
  • Lead Scoring - Helps us to qualify leads according to their behavior and demographics.
  • API - With a powerful API environment, we create the best-in-class integration with all the platforms, including our own database.
  • UI / UX - Has some bugs and is a bit slow as well.
  • Support - The quality of the support has degraded over time, so we will be looking forward to having some good resources to help us solve our issues.
  • API - Giving more flexibility to the areas that we cannot use API to extract in bulk.
It is well suited for mid-enterprise level biz where people are looking to take the next step towards making the best in class Martech architecture.

We use it as our primary marketing automation tool in regards to the management of the leads/customers in our database, for all of our emails and hosted webinars, and the production of our forms and landing pages. It is the best tool we have found in regards to our company size and the integrations that it enables.
  • Email production, sending, and testing.
  • Form creation.
  • Lead scoring.
  • Multiple integrations (SFDC, On24, Openprise, etc.)
  • Clunky UX.
  • Bugs and customer service.
  • Analytics dashboards could be built out more.
It's well suited for any asset production, like emails and landing pages. It helps you track a lead's lifecycle and how they interact with your brand from creation all the way to conversion and a little beyond that too (e.g. lead scoring, Bizible, etc.) It no longer tracks email send activity past 90 days, so any long-term tracking in regards to email touchpoints is a no-go. It also is not suitable for any opportunity information or large-scale analysis that pulls in more than leads and contacts.

We previously used Pardot and ran into a lot of issues. It wouldn't allow for full customization and automation and would lead to a lot of redundant work. We needed a MAP that could allow us to scale campaigns as we were growing fairly quickly.
  • Folder management
  • Automations
  • Ease of use
  • Analytics aren't terribly comprehensive and sometimes doesn't load correctly
  • Can't access the HTML of individual emails (only templates)
  • How certain filters and triggers are labeled is very confusing
  • You can't use a keyword search for images unless you are in the correct folder (versus being able to search across ALL image folders)
It's great for marketing teams that are growing. If you determine a strong organizational foundation, then the programs and folders can make your life a million times easier than other MAPs. It is, I think, maybe not necessary (especially at the price point we are paying) for smaller teams.

We are a small enterprise working within the telecommunications industry. As we are a company operating in over 20 countries with a relatively small TAM, we need very targeted marketing to reach our prospects. We use Marketo Engage for mass emails, and events (live online/webinars) and integrate it with programs such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Komiko (owned by ZoomInfo).
  • Great integration with Salesforce CRM
  • The ability to clone campaigns quickly
  • Dynamic content is a great feature to personalise content for different segments.
  • The use of tokens to simplify processes
  • Poor form builder - very clunky.
  • Poor landing page builder - very unintuitive.
  • Can be slow at times (especially when you have lots of smart lists).
  • Very limited reporting and analytics - needs feature updates.
  • Revenue Explorer loads as slowly as if I was using dial-up.
Marketo can work well if you have a dedicated person to work on your instance. I would not recommend it to small businesses because of the time and effort required to learn how to use it for your specific company needs and goals. Once you get the hang of it, Marketo has many functionalities, which can be tailored to your company/industry/audience, however, it is very clunky with an outdated UI and time-consuming to fix any bugs.
