As an inbound agency, it doesn't get much better than HubSpot for a one-stop-shop that covers all your marketing needs. With the help of HubSpot, we're able to cater to all of our clients with the same high level of service and proficiency. Managing all of our accounts in one place makes growing our business alongside our clients' easier than ever (or as easy as growing your business can be!). Our entire team uses HubSpot everyday, and the certification process has made onboarding new additions a painless process.
Integrating creation, scheduling, and tracking for all of our services (email, blogging etc.) into one place has helped close the gap on letting things slip through the cracks. Our clients are consistently impressed with the degree of in depth reporting we are able to provide, as well as great results. People love metrics and analytics even if they don't know it yet!
  • The training program is great. Bringing on new people and having them complete the certification is an awesome way to get our team onboard with our systems as quickly as possible.
  • Great support and customer service response time!
  • The blogging platform - very intuitive and has killer built in optimization tools. Saves us so much time!
  • Email and blogging can get a little glitchy–have to insert images multiple times, send test emails at least twice etc.
  • Design templates can be tricky. Once you get the hang of the process it's okay, but getting through it at first can be quite challenging.
It's not ideal for companies who want to stick strictly to blogging without the inclusion of email, and vice versa. It's a one stop shop for a reason!

My company is using HubSpot to automate our on-boarding as well as for all marketing communication.
  • It seems to be easy to use
  • Simple to use API
  • Good support
  • Bad - not customizable reporting
  • Limited search
  • No strong support for other social media tools other than Twitter
HubSpot is a pretty good tool, but check if you can generate the reports you need. We couldn't.

We use HubSpot for our own marketing as well as for all of our clients' marketing. I have used all three levels of HubSpot depending on our clients' needs. We use all of the tools in HubSpot in one way or another.
  • Marketing Emails
  • Data Collection
  • Contact understanding/lead generation
  • Automation
  • Better UI on some areas of the tool
  • More robust option for podcasting metrics
  • Tighter integration with Wordpress
  • Tighter integration with Wistia
HubSpot may not be the best bet for small budget companies or single owners. Also a membership site or eCommerce might go a different direction.

We use HubSpot on a daily basis for our clients and for ourselves, to design and implement inbound marketing strategies. We're a small team and HubSpot is the perfect solution for us to manage several content marketing strategies. By enabling us to set clear goals and track them across different channels, we're able to follow our performance in real-time and optimize it so that we get the best results possible. It's easy to use and we're constantly learning more on how we can fully leverage it.
  • Blogging - HubSpot is great for creating, editing, publishing and promoting blog articles. It also gives SEO recommendations and has relevant analytics.
  • Content Management - Our content offers are easily uploaded and updated, if necessary; landing pages are easy to create, using HubSpot templates or by designing a new template. We can track page conversions, we can send personalized emails and follow-up offer.s
  • Analytics - We're able to track all traffic by its source, identify patterns in customer acquisition and conversion and optimize our marketing efforts.
  • I've had technical difficulties while using Mozilla Firefox. Once I've switched to Chrome, I haven't encountered them again.
  • The text preview in the rich text editor freezes sometimes.
It could prove expensive for some companies, especially when they're a small company or a startup.

HubSpot is fully integrated with our website and is our go to tool for everything connected with SEO, Social, blogging, email and marketing automation. It is integrated with our CRM (also HubSpot). Using HubSpot and the process we learned from them has tripled our traffic and brought in 6X our leads. Since we are also using it to deliver our services our customers are happier as well.
  • Integrates all marketing tools - Instead of having multiple tools to track keywords, social, blogging, analytics etc... its all in one place
  • Allows for automated follow-up through automation
  • Intelligent landing pages that collect more infotation as people come back
  • Social media - Their social tool is good but there is room for improvement with more rich features that tools like buffer have
  • Prices have gone up and it's getting expensive
  • Don't allow to get rid of garbage leads to lower DB count
How many leads do you expect to generate?

Do you want to upload your current DB?

If the numbers for both those questions are very high then you might want to understand how that impacts price. Even if you buy a Pro or Enterprise license for a year you will only be able to send 10X emails based on the DB purchased and then at the end of the contract there might be a big jump in price.

HubSpot is our all in one marketing software that runs all our inbound processes, including website management, SEO efforts, email marketing, social media, and content marketing. It's perhaps the best investment our company has made, and has dramatically increased our leads and sales, while decreasing our cost of acquisition.
  • It's an excellent content management system that allows you to connect your blog, landing pages and site pages seamlessly.
  • HubSpot's blog tool is easy to use, allowing you to write SEO blogs effortlessly.
  • HubSpot's Social Media tool rivals such popular tools as Hootsuite and Radian 6.
  • While the CRM is effective, it is still a bit basic.
  • The CRM also does not communicate with the automated marketing tools perfectly.
While being an expensive tool, it is well worth every penny. It's important that you invest the time to learn the system completely and apply yourself to the process. If you do, you'll be happy with the results.

We have implemented HubSpot for 3 of our brands' websites. At first, HubSpot was used to increase the presence of the contact us links and to help with SEO enhancement, but as we have continued to grow with HubSpot, we are using it for more tools, such as lead automation and workflows.
  • We know who are customers are and what interests them.
  • We know what is a successful campaign and what needs improvement.
  • When updates are released, they are not necessarily available on the older platforms immediately,.
HubSpot is an excellent tool for most any business; however, it is especially good for small to medium sized businesses, as the tools can be implemented with little website building and management experience, and the analytics are thorough and easy to understand. The workflows and automation reduces the work load on sales support staff, so their efforts can be focused on more essential support services, like following through on specific content or quote requests, while the workflows take care of the general education and nurturing process.

HubSpot is used for marketing software and also for CRM. The marketing component of the product is amazing and we have had a very positive experience with the HubSpot team. Onboarding was quick and easy with support along each step of the way that helped us understand all the usable features that are available. The tool allows us to keep all of our sales and marketing efforts in one, centralized location which is perfect for small sales teams.
  • Training and learning academy - lots of helpful articles and insight.
  • Support - account managers and customer support are very timely.
  • Clean product - ease of use.
  • CRM report functionality could be better with date windows.
  • Would be nice to see one customer profile - not one in the marketing dashboard and another in the sales dashboard.
  • Education on the product can be time consuming to keep up with all new features & functionality.
HubSpot is suitable for small business looking to use marketing and CRM software for the first time.

HubSpot is being used by the Marketing team to create and manage emails, landing pages, blogs, and websites. It helps us to organize our large send lists and yet still create custom experiences for the user on an individual level. Using dynamic content and workflows, we can create the most optimal experience for every user as they're guided throughout our entire brand.
  • HubSpot is the absolute best at generating inbound leads. They have the best team and technology to make it happen.
  • HubSpot's training videos are essential for getting you started with the program, but they do so much more than that. HubSpot has numerous tutorials available online for guiding you through anything HubSpot you can think of.
  • HubSpot does a fantastic job of working between systems, from email to blog, and landing to website pages, not to mention social media as well. All of their systems and interfaces play very well for each other and it is simple to get everything started and get a good inbound marketing strategy going once you've built some initial pieces of content.
  • HubSpot could improve by allowing the user to have greater control of the templates and content. Although I am saying this from a designer's perspective where I want to push the system way above and beyond what it was created to do.
  • Customizing your emails beyond the standard set of design functions that HubSpot guides you through can be a bit challenging. The system isn't all that difficult once you get the hang of it, but for new users it could be challenging to really figure how you can get in there and tinker.
  • I wish HubSpot had integrated templates and maybe even a help section on how design can be used to create optimal templates. They have an email gallery section, but it is a little hard to navigate and search at times.
HubSpot is great for building and managing responsive websites, emails, blogs, and landing pages. I think the size of your company and the variety of brands is one of the more subtle things to plan through. We ended up running into difficulties once we had products that were living on different domain names. Managing aspects of the system can get difficult once you add an additional primary URL.

HubSpot is a great tool for managing and tracking social media growth. The smart integration and meshing of tools creates amazing workflows that cut an hour process into a 20 minute process. The support is also great and will take the reigns for you, which is usually a huge relief when you've already spent some time fumbling around in the COS.
  • Social Media Publishing
  • Support
  • Intuitiveness
  • UX
  • Certification Test questions are extremely frustrating
  • Certification class videos all have the same voice, delivery and speech pattern from the presenters
Are you looking to growing and cultivating a community? Do you understand the type of business you'd represent? Do you understand social media marketing and the power or lack of power it actually has? How familiar are you with content marketing? Have you heard of landing pages, CTAs and best practices with blogging?

The customer service is phenomenal. The migration team was able to make most of the changes I requested in a short amount of time. The academy is really great as well. Product is awesome. Extremely user friendly, and easy to use.
  • Extremely strong analytics.
  • Automated email marketing.
  • Landing page creation.
  • Refresh time within the platform is typically 15 minutes with an outside API.
  • Some people find the 12 month contract agreement to be a weakness, but we find it to be a strength, because it keeps everyone on track for at least 12 months.
  • Occasionally the platform can be slow as they make updates.
Companies with longer sales cycles are an awesome fit for HubSpot.

It is being used across our whole company to execute all of our marketing initiatives and efforts. We use it to promote content on social channels, we create landing pages and offers inside of it, we manage content, and we also use all of our analytics out of HubSpot. We had an issue where we were starting to get into content marketing but had not way of measuring our ROI. Upon reading the book "Epic Content Marketing", I learned about HubSpot. I found it would allow us to amplify everything we were doing and really take our marketing to the next level and also see what was really working.
  • The ability to track and perform marketing activities for the lifecycle of someone from subscriber to lead to customer to evangelist at a micro-level is amazing.
  • Their training and support are unreal and amazing.
  • The fact that all of the tools are brought together makes it so much easier for my team.
  • The pricing model is very intimidating. I can see how most people won't adopt it because it's really expensive at first.
  • The software is so powerful- a user really must take the time to get to know the software and put their passion into it. If you don't do this it'll take longer to see ROI.
If you are already regularly providing blogging content and content such as e-Books. If you have a full-time marketing person or someone who can give their love to the software. If you are already using social channels to promote content. You understand that the old ways of marketing are dead and inbound is the future. Then this software is for you.

We are a HubSpot Silver Partner and we help clients implement and use HubSpot. The results have been spectacular: We helped one client increase their inbound leads by more than 500% in just three months, and we helped another client increase their organic traffic by over 900% in under a year. Some of my clients originally started with another marketing platform (Marketo or Pardot) and they just don't compare. With HubSpot you're not just getting software, you're getting a proven methodology and access to a complete team of inbound marketing experts to help you succeed.
  • Increase website traffic
  • Increase the number of inbound sales leads
  • Nurture leads into sales
  • Amazing educational resources and tech support
  • Some of the integration for CRMs other than Salesforce could use a bit of improvement
It's better suited for companies who have products or services which are a bit more complex and require a more involved decision making process on the part of their customers. HubSpot is especially well suited for companies that sell products where their consumers would do a lot of online research before making a purchase. For example, a company that sells software would be a better fit than a company that sells chewing gum.

We use HubSpot for social media, email, workflows, landing pages and more. HubSpot is a great tool that gives us a comprehensive set of inbound marketing automation tools to generate quality leads and promote our brand. We also have integrated our website into the HubSpot CMS which gives us greater insight into who is looking at our website and provides tools to boost conversions.
  • Social Media Management - allows you to manage social media accounts painlessly
  • Customer Service - easy to call and fix any issues
  • Workflow Building - pretty straightforward and easy to use
  • Resources to learn more about inbound marketing
  • Blog
  • Better integrations
  • Easier contact/lead management
HubSpot works great for small to medium sized businesses that want to build an automated marketing program. It has great tools and resources for marketers and continues to improve every week. Although I've never worked for a large company I could imagine it would be hard to scale this product to a large team.

We use Hubspot for ourself as well as for clients as we are a web agency. From small business needs to large enterprise complex needs, Hubspot is the perfect all-in-one web marketing tool. We manage all the web marketing tactics from the Hubspot online tool and it is perfect from the strategic as well as from the operational side because everything is fully integrated.

  • Marketing and CRM integrated tool
  • Great educational content
  • Analytics and Reporting features
  • Data and Exporting features
One of our main challenges was to keep in touch with our prospects and make them evolve from strangers to happy and loyal customers. We were great at attracting people to our website, but lacked information to convert those visitors into qualified leads. With Hubspot, we implemented a full inbound marketing strategy that generates a lot of new business opportunities.

I was first introduced to HubSpot when the marketing agency I work for began using it for our own marketing efforts. We were so impressed with the results that we actually began recommending the product to customers and managing it on their behalf. The rest is history!

I could sit here and write a book about all of the different ways we have leveraged HubSpot, the problems it has solved and how that's translated into bottom-line success for our clients as well as our agency. What it really boils down to is HubSpot allows you to be a more efficient and effective marketer.
  • Ease of Use - HubSpot's user interface is extremely intuitive and they also have some great training videos to walk you through how to use the product.
  • Lead Generation - Our clients that are on HubSpot are growing their marketing databases at a much higher rate than those that do not.
  • Nurturing Leads - Based on contact properties and site interactions, we can deliver the right message, to the right person at the right time.
  • Lifecycle Stages - Moving contacts through the various lifecycle stages based on website activity allows us prioritize who our sales reps should be contacting.
  • The "SMART Goals" email notifications do not say which client reached their monthly goal. We manage numerous HubSpot accounts and receive emails that say "Congrats, you reached your monthly goal..." but we have no idea which client reached their goal based on the email. I imagine this will be updated soon because we submitted it to the HubSpot customer feedback site. They are actually really good about updating the product based on requests and feedback.
At first, HubSpot wasn't ideal for most eCommerce clients but we have actually built APIs that connect with some of the major shopping cart platforms. Our eCommerce clients are the ones seeing the most success with HubSpot now! We can get really granular based on customers' purchase history, lifetime value, etc.

  • Hubspot doesn't just give you best-in-class tools, they teach you how to use them at an advanced level
  • Hubspot allows beginners to go from 0-60 mph in a matter of months... It's like a gym membership, if you put in the work, you'll be in great shape
  • Hubspot just blows away the competition by putting most of their funding into Research and Development. The product gets 100% better every year
  • Hubspot does SEO very well.. a lot of marketing automation software out there thinks the funnel starts when someone fills out a form...well, it doesn't.
  • Their blog CMS was not great for many years, but that has since been improved
  • I used to think it was expensive... and then I took over my industry in 6 months... now I don't think they charge enough!
  • The reporting features are not as, well, awesome as Raven...which could be an issue for some agencies.
Ha! If another agency asked about HubSpot, I'm not sure I would tell them about it... HubSpot has offered me many times to be a case study for them...and I have always refused because I didn't want anyone to know my secret weapon. But in all seriousness, all of our interns get HubSpot certified in their first month, so we're very bullish on HubSpot.

  • Ability to migrate to hubspot forms (vs. netsuite) has enabled to better develop forms for each stage of our lifecycle, i.e. content vs. product demos to better nurture and segment prospects.
  • SEO tools are great for giving a quick snapshot of what is wrong with the page and what can be done to better optimize to help better rank without too much digging for data.
  • The marketing grader/competitor tool is not completely accurate. I'm not cofident in the data it is giving. For example, we don't have a facebook page and it says we have 1.5 million likes...

HubSpot is being used for our email marketing program, lead generation and blog within our marketing department. I would love to get it used throughout the organzation, especially utilizing the CRM and Sidekick for our sales team. It helps us become better marketers utilizing the abundance of information to effectively talk to our customers. It is so easy to understand and use that I try to get as many people utilizing the tool and training available to elevate our use of the system. Looking forward to joining in on a future HUG meeting locally too which is so awesome to have available.
  • The information and tutorials are so great to have available. I am starting to work on my Inbound Certification which is very beneficial.
  • Ease of use. The system is very intuitive and friendly to use. I've always like the marketplace to get ideas an purchase templates.
  • They offer consulting services to help make your program get better and think of ideas.
  • I love that they are always upgrading the system and offering new tools for free. They just launched the CRM and it's included in our enterprise subscription. Love that!
  • I'm not sure what other companies do, but when you sign on with the Enterprise edition, I think it'd be really beneficial to have an implementation specialist come on site and really get you set up for success. Getting the entire organization on board. It's hard doing that all on our own.
  • With the CRM roll out I was on the phone with my account manager and she thought I might have the beta version, however I didn't know, didn't know how to use or how to train the sales team to use it.
  • For email, it'd be great to fix link or text errors after an email is sent instead of having to send out an entirely new email that is correct.
You need to be able to support the system. If you don't have enough staff to really make it worthwhile, then it may not be for you. I'd think this is standard for any marketing automation software. You can't just install it and forget it. The more time you spend using it and trying new things, the better it will be for your organization. You have to be willing and able to train and get more people involved and understanding it's capabilities to be the most effective.

We use HubSpot in our marketing department and sales department. The marketing department uses it to help drive traffic, capture leads, and nurture leads for sales. The sales team uses the CRM for outbound prospecting and prioritizing inbound leads for follow up. Both the sales and marketing teams use the social tools inside of HubSpot for engaging with prospects.
  • Showing the ROI of your marketing efforts. HubSpot really connects the dots right down to how much sales each campaign brought in. Even tracking the ROI of Social Media
  • Personalizing your website content for your viewers based upon their buyer persona or actions they have taken is another strong component of the HubSpot platform. This makes the content you serve much more meaningful to your visitors.
  • Shortening your sales cycle. HubSpot's sales tools infused with your website and social intelligence have helped us and our clients close business faster.
  • The new CRM has some great tools but it is still new and needs some improvement on the reporting side.
HubSpot is well suited to organizations that want to improve and measure the ROI of their online marketing efforts.

  • HubSpot provided a centralized dashboard view of all the marketing activities that I needed to perform. Previously, several systems were being used and there was no streamlined process and in some instances, no process. Yikes!
  • Closed Loop Marketing. This was a major selling point for us. Being able to track and measure our efforts against real dollars is a must in business today.
  • HubSpot came to us with the same innovative thinking that we like to apply in our business, using workflows to automate and create smarter efficiency.
  • Surveys are a particularly important part of what we do as a software company and currently we have to use 3rd party software for that. I'd like to see that ability fully integrated with the product.
Training is very important for using Hubspot. You really never stop learning how to use it and how to make your marketing better. I would definitely recommend using the Hubspot Academy to continue to improve one's skills. Also, I would not hesitate to recommend hiring a HubSpot partner to get your company up and running. Integrations, extra marketing resources, continued training classes - they are worth the extra dollars to learn how to do things the right way.

HubSpot is currently being used across our entire organization as an all inclusive marketing tool that helps us manage our online presence, as well as our clients. We use it as a CMS, COS, and will be transferring into the new CRM that was recently released. The HubSpot tool does it all! No really! From building client websites, email automation, monitoring and posting to social media, launching campaigns, blogging, analytics and contact management, we do it all on one platform. This tool is a sophisticated piece of software that is completely unmatched by competitors.

Each department has its own niche of the tool the use everyday and it allows us to work on every website and marketing project as a team. Not only that, we can connect the dots between every single action and effort the entire team makes, from blog posts to special offers, it is all in one place!!! Even better, HubSpot offers one of the best and most in-depth academies and learning resources to help you get ahead of the curve. You have unprecedented access to the experts that help you learn the ins and outs of the tool as well as everything you need to know about the Inbound Marketing methodology.
  • The best thing about HubSpot is that it consolidates all of your marketing and sales tools in one place! No need to pay for multiple platforms and piece data together like a jigsaw puzzle, this tool does it all in one place.
  • The customer service they offer is awesome! The fix glitches before you can even ask about them, if you need to call there is always something there to fix your problem promptly! And if you just need a little training on how to use the software, they handle that too!
  • The marketing automation is a fantastic feature in the HubSpot tool! I can send emails and follow up based on a customer's actions, saving me time all while nurturing leads into customers.
  • The COS helps us design, optimize and implement websites that create clear conversion paths and help funnel customers through the buyers journey.
  • The web design aspect of HubSpot can be a little difficult for those with little to no knowledge of coding.
HubSpot is an ideal tool for a company that is looking to increase their ROI, monitor their internet presence, interact with customers, and create a place where sales and marketing work together. A key question to consider is, what platforms you are currently using and how do you monitor those? Most people have to collect data from several different places and cobble together something that justifies the time you spend online. HubSpot really connects the dots between everything you do online!

We use HubSpot across the whole organization to market our own inbound marketing services, and we perform the same inbound marketing services for our clients. HubSpot's platform enables small-to-enterprise size companies to perform inbound marketing, which allows them to attract more qualified sales leads and convert them into customers.
  • Best-in-class integration of content marketing tools (website, blogging, social media) and lead generation and lead management tools all under one easy-to-use software platform.
  • Outstanding customer service and user training programs. This keeps customers happy and better able to reach their goals. Improves customer retention for HubSpot.
  • Excellent Partner/Reseller program that provides end-to-end support for inbound marketing services agencies.
  • I don't have any areas for improvement today, but I hope that as HubSpot grows rapidly, they will not lose sight of what has made them so successful - outstanding customer service and attention to detail.
To get the most benefit out of using HubSpot, you need to be prepared to do the work - regular blogging and engagement in social networks, customer outreach campaigns, lead management and sales. It is not well suited to companies with too little budget and manpower resources to create content and manage marketing activity on a daily basis.
