We use it as a communication tool to help broaden our scope of contacts we can reach out to.
  • Sequencing
  • Logging Calls
  • Giving Statistics
  • Ability to attach multiple people to a sequence in CC form.
  • Ability to finish multiple contacts from a sequence and add them to a new sequence on the same page. Right now if you finish the contacts from the sequence they disappear from the screen you are looking at and you have to go find them again.
Outreach is a great tool if you are looking at reaching out to many contacts and want the capability for the tool to keep track of the activity and what comes next for you. It has been nice to have. This tool can also be an organizing tool as well.

Our sales team of 20 uses Outreach. It helps to connect with our remote sales team and keep up with everything each individual rep is doing. It also simplifies our entire sales process.
  • Call tracking - You can view your entire sales team's call activity very easily
  • Email tracking - You can view your entire sales team's email activity
  • Email sequencing - Create custom sequences to ensure your sales process is consistent
  • The soft dialer - Ability to record calls depending on area code, the ability to block numbers altogether
  • Mobile app - Currently using outreach on a mobile device is not a good experience
If you need to create consistency with your existing large sales team or create automation, this is a great tool. It works well with Salesforce and finally with Google calendar. This tool is not designed for large-scale email campaigning. Outreach will make any sort of client/prospect facing more efficient.

Outreach is being used for both outbound prospecting and inbound lead nurture across our sales org.
  • Outreach is easy to use
  • It's the most powerful sales reach out tool
  • Continues to innovate and stay ahead in a highly saturated market
  • I'd like them to improve their voice functionality.
  • Better Gmail integration
  • Less throttling restrictions
I looked at a lot of email prospecting tools a few years ago when I was an SDR and Outreach was the most powerful and easiest to use.

We're using Outreach for our outbound outreach to targeted prospects within the inside sales team. It's addressing the problem of keeping the inside sales team, which I supervise, touching the prospect enough times with calls, emails and action items, in order to make the connection needed to obtain a meeting over the phone.
  • Organizing prospects with tags is a great way to keep people separate however you'd like.
  • Automatic emails with generic followups to reply to your original email and keep the touch points flowing.
  • Creating tasks and reminders within outreach to pop up on your home page the day they're due. No more stickys!
  • I'd like for it to have a calendar feature in which I can share my calendar with the prospect via email to coordinate meetings easier.
  • I'd like to be able to trigger off of call dispositions, and trigger actions based on how a call has ended.
  • I'd like an easier was to track positivity and negativity of email outcomes for statistical reports.
Outreach is very well suited for those that want to target their outreach to individual prospects, or a specific focus group, or even cast a wider net. For example, blasting emails for a marketing event your company is hosting, and then having auto emails followup til the day of the event is a use case we use it for.

Outreach is used by the entire sales org - sales reps, sales leaders and the outbound team (i.e. BDRs). The main business problem it solves is to help scale with a one-to-many model but still be targeted with your outreach. Ultimately, it helps us set up more calls with prospects, which is what Outreach is designed to do. I also use it for renewal customers and saving time such as leveraging the template feature.
  • Reach new prospects
  • Engage with existing customers about renewals
  • Save time by automating common messages and talk tracks
  • Bridging calls between AEs and BDRs
I think it can be applied broadly within a sales org even to the extent of inbound folks like ADMs.

It is being used by one department (sales) and it addresses outbound and inbound sales tasks, call, and email data. Inbound teams use templates and sequences to respond to leads, and outbound teams use it as a task manager to keep track of ABM marketing initiatives. Some AEs have access to Outreach still but do not lean on it as heavily as the prospecting and inbound teams.
  • Task management on a high level - keeping track of lots of people and seeing activity history
  • Email open rates and understanding location/timing of opens
  • Providing easy access to templates and sequences, especially creating your own.
  • Data manipulation and export: unable to export to excel to analyze data in-depth
  • Detailed task information, such as keeping notes on a prospect, editing tasks that are further than 1 day out, and easily exporting task reports to plan weekly work-flow
  • Dashboard call and email volumes are not correct or easy to understand - data doesn't seem to line up with what is actually being done (which might have to do with marking a task as complete)
  • The new export feature is a mess - it doesn't connect to Salesforce anymore and you have to do it in a new window.
It's well suited for templated or sequences emails, but harder to use as a task management tool for personalized outbound that doesn't rely on sequenced or bulk activity.

We use it as our CRM. It allows us to send emails on time and keep track of our sales tasks.
  • The best thing it does is create email sequences which end up saving you time. It also allows you to set up times to send emails.
  • It allows you keep track of both email and call tasks so you know how often you are contacting a lead.
  • It allows you to see when people open your emails so you know if they have seen them or if you should send them again.
  • It does not go well with Salesforce. It makes your task list extremely cluttered.
  • It is very slow.
If you send a lot of similar emails but want to edit them each time.

Outreach is currently used primarily by our SDR (insides sales prospecting/qualification) organization as a CRM and email campaign platform. We also have a couple of seats provisioned to training account managers that close training-only deals. This platform allows our reps to conduct massive outbound email campaigns to cold prospects, without storing that prospect information in our Salesforce instance and polluting our otherwise warm lead pool. Users import CSV files with prospect information into Outreach or import directly from Salesforce using the 'Outreach Everywhere' Chrome extension. Once imported, these prospects are 'sequenced' using custom-built email campaigns, which send mail merges at specific intervals. These sequences also create reminders to call prospects based on manual scheduling, or automatically based on the number of times a particular prospect has opened an email. Outreach makes it simple to automate the tracking of prospect information, such as how many times they have been called or emailed, what their current stage in the process is, and when they can be contacted.
  • Outreach has a lot of thoughtful features, such as automating stage changes based on the prospect's action (mark them as a certain stage if they reply, or another stage if an email to them bounces).
  • The integration with Salesforce is fairly robust - you can map the most important object types to certain objects in Outreach, as well as just about as many fields per object as you could possibly need. You can also set how and when these fields are synced, whether updates are pushed back into Salesforce or only one direction.
  • The culture at Outreach is commendable - every employee I've had the pleasure of working with has been professional, understanding, and takes our pains and recommendations to heart. They generally find time to consider our feature requests while working on their own upgrades.
  • The biggest complaint from myself and our other users is how noisy and inconsistent the user interface is. Some screens will contain multiple headers, a sidebar on the right, as well as pop-out sidebar on the left for searching and filtering, but some options are only available depending on what screen you're on. Some screens have too much going on, while others lack some key list-sorting and selection capabilities.
  • Recently, many updates have been pushed to our org without prior notice, causing headaches for our users and the support team. Some of the updates have included turning on features that are related to parts of the platform that not all of their customers use, such as the dialer, while others were simpler user interface adjustments that confused users because they were not communicated ahead of time.
Outreach excels at automating repetitive communication tasks. For example, if you have a large list of contacts to whom you would like to send relatively identical messaging (except for maybe their names, companies, or other variable fields), Outreach is a great way to write the email once and distribute it to all of the appropriate contacts. It's also very useful for scheduling reminders and other tasks, such as when to call a prospect who has replied to one of your emails, or when to send a follow up email if you don't receive a reply. They've got some other features that look good too, which we just haven't adopted - these include a soft-phone / dialer that integrates with their sequencing and tasks very well, and a calendaring feature that is helpful for scheduling meetings across multiple calendars. It is not necessarily helpful as a general email platform, but is better suited for situations where you are sending multiple copies of the same email at once, or sending the same type of email to people over and over again, e.g. download follow ups.

Outreach is being used by our sales department as part of our outbound strategy. It allows our sales team to reach out to particular groups of prospects with tailored message, whilst saving time on generating individually sent messages to each prospect. The tool allows us to reach out to more prospective clients in an effective and organised manner.
  • Organisation
  • Reach out at scale
  • Keep up to date with prospects
  • Time zones should be automated when the number is put in. It is laborious to add it individually and leaves you unaware of which time zone your prospects are in.
  • Can be painful to mass edit

Outreach.io is being used in sales across the company and is the standard tool to assist outbound sales. Outreach helps sales teams stay organized, learn about their prospects, keep in constant communication, and take control of their selling process. Outreach also helps us to collaborate with each other on our various selling processes and gather valuable feedback.
  • Outreach.io does a great job of making it clear where each prospect is in the selling process, and allows you to organize your time based on urgency and importance.
  • Outreach.io has a very smart email scheduling tool that allows you to make your reach outs feel personal and well-suited to your company's purpose, while still saving you time and helping you keep on top of your touch points.
  • Outreach.io offers features like templates and snippits that allow you to easily replicate messaging that you use frequently so that you do not waste time writing the same things over and over.
  • Outreach.io has great progress reporting, allowing you to see how successful an email sequence or template is. This helps you to make educated decisions on your messaging and what you should try next.
  • Outreach.io has a very interesting reporting tool that works well. It allows you to dig into different users, sequences, templates, send times ect. The only issue is that it is not dynamic or flexible right now, and therefore the options are limited to what they allow you to report on.
Outreach.io is a necessary tool for any organization that does inbound or outbound sales, and that does not have a tool in place to help manage touchpoints, email communication and daily tasks. Having a CRM was not enough for us, and Outreach has been a huge compliment to our process; saving us time and effort in almost every scenario. If you do not do any email reach outs or email prospecting whatsoever, this tool may not be as useful, however it still allows you to keep track of prospects and schedule times for phone calls and in-person meetings, so it could still be very effective. The value of being able to organize our time using Outreach has been almost immeasurable.

It's used heavily across the SDR team since they spend the majority of their time on outbound efforts. The account executive team will mostly use it if they are prospecting and some will use it for follow-ups or trying to reconnect with clients down the road. We've got a focus on growing our business, and it starts with getting enough meetings.
  • It takes time to craft the right messaging, but once you do it's a huge time save.
  • Outreach helps me tailor messaging quickly and schedule messages for even months down the road.
  • Setting up your initial cadence is a pain since the best practices are not intuitive.
  • Not a fan of the pop-out window, I preferred the sidebar.
  • There's a lot of little bugs.
It's really great for outbound SDRs. As an AR I've started to use it for cadences around introing CSMs, or for first calls where there's no need until months down the road. These use cases aren't highlighted as much but I've started to see the value. Unfortunately, I've had several glitches where I've gotten a reply from a prospect and the cadence continues to send.

Outreach is mainly being used by the sales development team to nurture leads, get in touch with leads, and getting tasks done automatically. Makes our lives easier - more productive and better follow up.
  • Generate automatic tasks when leads are engaging over your emails
  • Very well structured in emails
  • Option to send manual emails vs. automatically
  • Accuracy of notifications when people are looking into/clicking your email
  • Sometimes, emails are being sent that I don't want to send out

At ExamSoft our entire Sales team uses Outreach. Our Inside Sales team uses Outreach on a daily basis, while the Outside team uses it less frequently, but both teams have seen the value. The Inside Team sends over 1,000 emails per week through the platform. The Inside Team uses Outreach to send out their weekly campaigns. For instance, we ask that they touch a target vertical that week and they'll use Outreach to create their template and mass email contacts or set up a sequence to email a contact over a few weeks. As we're a small team, Outreach helps us expand our reach easily and efficiently. The platform is extremely user-friendly and gives data and analytics so we can continue to work smarter as a team.
  • Analytics - Outreach keeps track of everything, which we love. I'm able to see how many emails my team is sending out, how their templates and sequences are working as far as open rates, click rates, and reply rates. This helps us make decisions for email campaigns in the future.
  • Customer Service - Outreach has the best customer service out there, hands down! We've had similar tools in the past and one selling point for us was the dedicated account manager and training we received with Outreach. Support is always quick to answer questions and help us solve problems we're facing, while our Account Manager keeps us up-to-date with product updates and overall tips we can use to increase our performance.
  • Sequences - We love using sequences at ExamSoft. Outreach gives users the flexibility to set up sequences by an exact date/time or by the length between activity. These have made the Inside Sales teams' life much easier!
  • The Outlook Web Browser Plug-In - Outlook is a tough platform for companies to integrate with and Outreach has made tons of improvements here over the last year, but I would like to see continued improved with features and functionality. Specifically, a send later function.
  • SalesForce Integration - We've had some issues this year with their SalesForce syncing and have had to make changes to the backend so these would work. Hopefully we've got them all fixed, but I would like to see an easier answer to these integration issues, and hopefully never have to deal with them!
The majority of our use in Outreach is to send mass emails to prospects with the Inside Sales Team. We like the ability to create and share templates and sequences within the team, as well as dive into the data and analytics following campaigns.

We use Outreach a lot as a sales team. It is our main tool of communication and lead cadencing. We use salesforce alongside it and the two seem to pair up well. There can be some communication issues between the two but nothing you can't work through. Overall it's a great system that is visually pleasing and somewhat simple to operate.
  • Organization
  • Tracking opened emails and bounces
  • Simplifying your work day
  • Better communication with other tools like SalesForce
  • Tasks could be a little more organized
When you want to continuously touch a lead and not put much mind into it the system is very useful. The system also does a very good job of pulling other completing companies in the area so you have an idea of who you are actually speaking with. It could work for most businesses I feel.

It is being used by our marketing and sales departments. It streamlines our prospecting and account development.
  • Automates email prospecting to save time and resources
  • Provides useful analytics that help determine effectiveness of messaging
  • The dialer really helps making calls quicker and freeing up more time for other prospecting
  • Greater ability to modify scheduled date of sequences
  • Greater overview of notes from Salesforce.(I still have to go back and forth between the two more than I would like)
  • The dialer can be slow at times.
Outreach is well suited for me as an account development manager. My job is to contact and get a hold of as many people as possible in order to schedule demonstrations of our product for our sales team. Outreach helps me maximize my time and results.

Outreach is used by our SDRs and AEs on the corporate and mid-market side. We use Outreach to automate our sales process and improve the efficiency of our prospect engagement. It helps us see what messaging is resonating the most, which is helpful for our start-up. Outreach reminds us to touch the prospects we've sequenced resulting in better, smarter activity.
  • Outreach does a good job of allowing users to use pre-written emails, snippets or templates for better time management
  • Outreach is great at organizing with the Smart Views and Sort and Filter options
  • 360 view gives users a great picture of the day/week they have ahead of them, so they're able to properly prepare
  • My emails were delayed in sending, a technical problem on Outreach's end
  • Reports are difficult to read/interpret
  • Outreach is having trouble syncing calls to Salesforce
Outreach is great for following up with warm leads after a conference, or other MQLs. However, when further personalization is required, the tool is less appropriate.

Outreach is used by the sales organization to better streamline communication to our customers and help automate some of the tasks that often slip through the cracks. It's helping us convert leads at a higher rate, and uncover messaging that works well so that future communication can be more effective.
  • Automation - Outreach enables some automation of certain tasks. This makes it easy to set/forget items that can easily be forgotten otherwise.
  • Scheduling of emails - there are times that I'm thinking of an email I need to send, but I don't want to send it right away. Outreach enables me to schedule the delivery for later. The interface and functionality are very easy to use.
  • Bulk composing emails - the ability to pull automated fields to fill into emails when you need to send a similar email to multiple people. Makes it very easy to communicate to people, making it personalized and much more effective than a mass email.
  • Mobile - I'm not aware of any functionality on mobile. Would love a mobile app to review my outbox, see what emails have been viewed, etc.
  • Static window - with their new window mode, I'd love to be able to lock that window on the outbox to see in real-time what emails are being opened and what attachments and links are being clicked on.
Great for bulk emails on product updates that need to be personalized. Great for starting an email chain to a net new prospect.

Not great in automating (with flexibility) communication in scenarios of account management over the lifecycle of the customer.

We're using Outreach primarily for sales process automation. We make the most use out of the sequencing capability, but also use the platform for dialing out of Salesforce, sales ops, and from what I understand we use it for some marketing automation-type features as well. The primary problem we're addressing is how pipeline management and automating sales activity.
  • Sequence/Cadence construction involving a multi-touch approach
  • Prospect engagement
  • Salesforce integration
  • The Outreach University has great info on the technical aspects of the platform, but it'd be great to see more content around how they/others are using the platform successfully with examples!
Outreach is perfect if you belong to a team that has made sales enablement investments and has a strong product marketing culture for copy and targeting. At that point, it becomes a game-changer in delivering a high-quality, high-value sales platform experience that increases activity and exposure. However, in the wrong hands, the tool can be used to propagate more brand-harming SDR activity. In the words of Uncle Ben from Spiderman - "with great power comes great responsibility".

Used to just be an SDR tool, was distributed across the entire sales org recently. Is a great tool for keeping emails and followups on track, personalizing outreach at scale. It's my main source of meetings and is a part of my every-morning routine. I like being able to keep track of how engaged my prospects are as well.
  • Automated outreach -- takes care of the entire job of outreach for you as a sales rep. No more Yesware or Boomerang.
  • Awesome scheduling and gmail integration -- I work out of gmail primarily and it's nice to be able to access scheduling and prospect engagement through that.
  • Keeps track of engagement so I can prioritize which prospects to add to further touches or call.
  • Some issues with the outreach everywhere extension -- accessing the sidebar panel makes my browser window behave weirdly.
  • The workflow for being able to access account information and sequence info from the prospect level could use some work-- some of it doesn't make any sense.
  • Salesforce integration is a little clunky -- doesn't sync information over consistently.
[It's] Great for personalized email outreach at scale that includes various channels, multiple touches, high customization and engagement tracking. Also great for working with prospect engagement real time within Gmail and Salesforce.

We are utilizing your services for more of our sales team.
  • open feed to let me know when people are opening up emails
  • sequences and auto drips to make emailing a lot easier
  • being able to better understand my daily metrics and contrast them to monthly
  • the integration between Salesforce and outreach lags.
  • cannot add in prospects that may have a duplicate email address, even after you delete the contact on SFDC
Outreach works well in its true form, it's a great way to better leverage your contacts and start-up sequences to mass email prospects in your book of business. The only caveat is the way in which Salesforce integrates with outreach. Sometimes the information can be false or we can have issues on the feed itself, where it's way held back in time to open.

I believe nearly everyone from BDRs to AEs uses Outreach. It provides a much faster, more efficient, better interface to contact prospects and customers and record that information. We use outreach to contact all prospects through email and phone. It also allows us to easily see the communication history of a prospect and account. It allows for very smooth and effective transitioning of communication between BDRs and AEs.
  • Great interface for communication. Gives one easy platform to call and email prospect. Also gives you a place to add URL of website and LInkedin profile.
  • Provides a great way to see communication history. Makes it easy to see which emails have been opened and responded to, also which calls have connected. Proved a recording of the phone call.
  • Provides options for sequences and super-sequence to automate tasks.
  • It would be great to be able to merge accounts/prospects. As it stands I do not believe that is a function.
  • It would be nice to be able to see an overall view of all communication from an account, to see who has engaged the most.
  • It would be great to have a video recording interface!
I really can't speak for many other industries than my current one. I think anytime/position where you need to communicate with a large volume of people and follow up with them, this is a great tool! Outreach is a huge improvement on Salesforce in terms of giving a better UI to communicate with prospects, record information, and follow up.

I myself have challenges using Outreach to remind me to do specific things. I still rely on my calendar to remind me about specific, important tasks.

Just by the sales department and it addresses our prospecting problems (cadences emails, keeps track of prospective clients and provides tasks to SDRs). Typically it is used only by sales but I think our marketing department has used it a couple times to develop template email responses to our current and new members.
  • Accessibility
  • Color scheme and user-friendly
  • Ability to send a large amount of emails at once
  • Scheduling emails appropriately and the difference between sending and scheduling
  • Calls drop all the time
  • The app is tough to work with chrome (crashes a lot)
Well suited: large email campaigns, the need for fast, easy to access template email responses and for creating detailed sequences for a limited number of tasks.

Less suited: high call volume (call drops all the time), advanced sequence creation and full customizing of sequence steps for specific sales prospecting.

[It's] Being used primarily by sales. Within sales, it is used by sales associates to automate emails, track email opens and forwards, and make calls. It aims to address the business problem of efficiency. Salespeople already have a lot on their plates. Outreach helps automate as much as possible so that the salesperson doesn't have to remember quite as much and can reach prospects easier.
  • Automated Emails
  • Email open and forward tracking
  • Manual call and email tasks
  • Syncing with Gmail
  • Overlay screen can take up a lot of loading time
  • Uploading contacts from Salesforce to Outreach could be easier
  • To my understanding, there is no way of uploading contacts via a spreadsheet
Well Suited: Tasks and calls are much more manageable
Automated Sequences are great.

Less appropriate for calling someone you already know because local presence seems sketchy.

Outreach is being used for both our Inside Sales team and our Sales Development team. It allows us to easily organize our entire prospecting cycle from start to finish.
  • An intuitive and user-friendly tool that makes organizing Outreach touch points so quick and easy.
  • Great insights and reporting on every resource used by sales teams in Outreach.
  • I noticed Outreach is on top of what's happening in the marketplace and they've launched a new product feature almost every month.
  • I'd like to have the voicemail drop feature. They announced it would be coming months ago but haven't seen this feature yet.
  • I'd like an easier way to edit a sequence that has prospects in the cycle. We should be able to edit the sequence and not have to either remove them from the sequence or have to clone it.
Outreach is well suited for sales teams who are doing prospecting for new clients. It's not necessarily well suited for customer service teams who are managing existing clients on a regular basis.
