HubSpot is used by the marketing/communications team at Minnesota Chamber of Commerce - it helps us to reach our target audience of members while also allowing us to personally reach out to prospective members across the state. It addresses the problem of employee efficiency and duplicate efforts between teams. We use it to send out all of our email communications to our current members about our initiatives - we are working on a "life-cycle" strategy for our members to keep our retention rate at one of the highest in the country for state chamber organizations. In addition, we recently set up a lead-generation stream to engage prospects on the advantages of becoming a member of the chamber. Using the Forms feature, we are able to gather information on possible membership leads and sponsorship opportunities. Its Social Marketing feature is very helpful to push out and track engagement of our social media marketing campaigns. One of the keenest features of HubSpot is that it helps us keep track ALL of our marketing initiatives for all of our campaigns - that has proved invaluable, especially when we need to go back and review past performance.
  • Customer Service: IT ROCKS! I'll speak of submitting questions via email - they are answered within 15 minutes and they walk you through understanding the issue and help you to solve it. Great customer service is hard to come by - not having to go through 5+ hoops to get through to a person that can help you is a HUGE asset to customers of HubSpot.
  • Tracking of Campaigns: I LOVE this feature. Creating and using tracking codes is so simple. Being able to go into a specific campaign and gather information about its performance has proved invaluable when reporting to leadership.
  • Training: Their training is so down to earth and easy. It will have you setting things up quickly and effortlessly.
  • Updating of Files: If you need to make a change to a file you've uploaded, there is a lag-time and you don't see them right away.
  • Tracking Codes - reading them: I think there should be more fields to enter information about the tracking code being created. You also cannot edit content after it is created. Instead in order to make a change you need to delete and create a new one.
  • Lists: There seems to be a lag time in uploading and the counts. Also - when reviewing, there looks as if there are errors to the list but I never question since the counts - when they come in - are close enough.
HubSpot is suited to any type of marketing situation. Having been (finally!) able to use it, I cannot imagine a scenario where it wouldn't be handy to have at least one of the features. Even small firms would benefit from it by allowing people to work more efficiently. It really is a great tool.

We are a HubSpot partner agency. So we use HubSpot ourselves and sell the software to clients. Our clients love HubSpot because it is simple to understand and the idea of inbound marketing makes sense. We love HubSpot because everything is in one place, which makes serving clients' needs so much easier.
  • HubSpot is great for sending emails and then seeing the email performance. It goes one step further than many email sending services because it ties all email activity back to an individual contact record.
  • I also really love the list performance tool in HubSpot. It is really cool to see how a list is growing (or shrinking) and see how contacts on that list are interacting with you (shows email opens, contacts who have visited your site, etc.)
  • The workflows tool is great - I can set up automated emails to go out based on a contact property, joining lists, and more.
  • HubSpot just released new editing tools for email, web pages, landing pages. Like anything new, it takes some getting used to. I don't really love it yet...but may change my mind at some point.
  • HubSpot also released a new list building tool. I don't like it because it is hard to see what is already included as criteria on your list while you are working on adding additional criteria.
  • Unless you buy in at the enterprise level, you don't get access to some of the better reports. They just added a reporting add-on...but that also costs $$.
HubSpot is really great for businesses who need to nurture their leads and move them through the funnel - it seems like B2B businesses with longer sales cycles really find success with HubSpot. It is a great solution if you have a small team and is easy to learn. I would not recommend HubSpot to companies who do not plan to use the system to its fullest.

HubSpot is our marketing automation tool and CMS. It is used more heavily in our marketing department although sales uses it as well. HubSpot helps us get blog subscribers, manage our blog, send emails, send leads to sales, and understand our marketing efforts.
  • They constantly improve their product which is great -- they've offered some really impressive new features in the past year.
  • Their system is very intuitive and easy to navigate.
  • Their support and training is top notch -- you definitely don't feel alone!
  • Their reporting isn't great, I still like using SFDC to do reporting.
HubSpot fits SMB needs better than Enterprise I believe. The platform is a bit simple and has challenges addressing more complex need sometimes.

We use HubSpot for all our marketing and sales needs, we replaced all software from, CMS, blogging, email marketing, social media and CRM with HubSpot. We also implement HubSpot for our customers. Now we can close the loop on reporting and prove ROI on all our marketing and sales efforts. Our whole marketing and sales team uses the tool every day.
We have generated more than $ 2mil in sales for our customers in 2015 by implementing inbound strategies and using the HubSpot tool.
Very Important: The tool is not magic, you need to do the work and set the strategy and follow the methodology that HubSpot no only recommends but also teaches you through their education series. If you do all that and your business is a good fit for Inbound Marketing you wont be disappointed.
  • Great reporting, can really close the loop and prove ROI.
  • Integrate everything, email, blogs, social.
  • Awesome new add-ons for reporting and ads
  • Link Building (having the ability to do link building from the tool would be great)
HubSpot is best for companies with a sales team, using a CRM and with a long sales cycle.

We are using HubSpot as a marketing automation and blogging tool primarily, and we are testing the use of the CRM. Our marketing team uses campaign pages, email, workflows, blog, social media, and lists. Our choice to go with HubSpot was centered on keeping an inbound approach to marketing as well as keeping our tools in one place, as much as possible. We've also seen some interesting innovation from them with the addition of a CRM.
  • Management of digital marketing campaigns in a single place.
  • Great onboarding consulting (go with the advanced package).
  • Great focus on an inbound approach to marketing.
  • SEO tools for page optimization, comparison, and keyword research.
  • Efficient social medial management tools.
  • Basic reporting is limited, and more robust reporting is a paid add-on.
  • Workflows aren't as robust as some tools out there, but they are improving.
  • Technical onboarding support could be better.
I would focus on what you are trying to accomplish for your organization. If you are focused on inbound marketing as a strategy, it is a fantastic tool. If you are looking for a marketing automation tool for marketing automation sake, you may be better served by another tool. I would also ask specific application questions as with any software vendor.

HubSpot is currently being used throughout our entire organization. As we are a VAR (value added reseller) of the software, we not only use it ourselves, but we do implement the platform for our clients. HubSpot is a comprehensive marketing automation solution that now includes it's own built in CRM. HubSpot has allowed us to streamline processes and implement automation for premium content offers through built in social marketing, email marketing and workflow capabilities. After these initial interactions HubSpot CRM goes the additional step further, allowing for the nurturing of specific and qualified leads.
  • Total "all-in-one" solution. HubSpot addresses email, social, lead nurturing, workflows, website building and maintenance as well as CRM capabilities.
  • Education. HubSpot provides all of it's users with an unprecedented level of support. In short, they want you to understand the importance of inbound marketing just as much as they want you to use their software.
  • Trend setting. HubSpot understands what users need because they listen. They are constantly improving the product based on user feedback. In doing so, their trend forecasting is far above average.
  • Unless you are working with a VAR (value added reseller) setup can be daunting. Expect to invest a lot of time up front.
  • Yes, one person can execute a strategy with HubSpot right out of the box, but don't expect to be able to hit every bullet point at 100%. Even seasoned marketing professionals will have a hard time taking advantage of every feature without the aid of outside skill sets.
  • Design. There is always room for improvement in the design space. The platform has gotten infinitely better at allowing design professionals to manipulate elements, but out of the box, you still have that "HubSpotty" look and feel.
Make sure you understand the inbound methodology before purchasing. HubSpot offers so many educational outlets, use them. Often clients who don't get the most out of the product are the ones that need convincing that inbound really does work. Understand what the tool can do and utilize as many features as you can based on a clearly defined strategy. You will get the best results from putting all of your eggs in this basket. Being slow to adopt by keeping email on MailChimp and social in Hootsuite will not allow for maximum results.

My team currently uses Hubspot for all our Website needs including updating and re-design. We have used it to create a sleek new design for our website and don't consider ourselves "graphic designers". We use it to send marketing and use it update emails to our customers at high volumes. Our HR team can easily post their own job postings etc without the marketing team needing to get involved, saving time. The tool is "owned" by the marketing team but we have several other teams use access the dashboards and analytics from emails and website pages. These metrics are vital to measure performance, but Hubspot always helps further by suggesting optimization tricks and other helpful tools. It is by far my favourite tool to use and i use it everyday. Hubspot is always improving and changing, and they engage their customers to help with our marketing needs.
  • Always improving user experience and adding new features - the communication about these features is also seemless
  • I love the Blog - I look forward to it - there are so many great articles, some hilarious, some useful and many more
  • Customer service and getting help when needed. I"ve had a few experiences with different forms of support and each time it has been consistent and they've solved my problems.
  • Don't love the new email and web builder layouts as they change frequently
Great for small and large companies with larger customer base. Can act as CRM tool and everything can be done from Hubspot.

We provide inbound marketing services to our e-commerce and B2B clients. We also use HubSpot to market our digital agency. HubSpot facilitates and integrates over 80% of our marketing initiatives, including email, outbound, social, and content marketing.
  • HubSpot's best feature is the email workflow tool. Contacts are sent personalized emails based on actions they take with each email they receive.
  • HubSpot's Enterprise reporting capabilities are outstanding. It allows companies to pinpoint exactly which pages and activities generated the highest revenue. Companies no longer have to guess with marketing initiatives were successful for future investments.
  • HubSpot's social monitoring is excellent. The tool displays all engagement in one place, eliminating the need to rely on other social media monitoring tools.
  • HubSpot's blogging tool needs further development. The customization options are not as robust as other platforms and it takes long to load content.
Companies with a large contact database would greatly benefit from HubSpot. The data that is gathered on contact behavior creates endless opportunities for effective marketing strategies.

As an inbound marketing agency, Revenue River utilizes HubSpot as our marketing automation software of choice. It allows us to implement detailed marketing campaigns for our clients in half the time it would take in other platforms (which we used to deal with before the days of HubSpot). From website creation to social media campaigns to Email marketing strategy, we run full campaigns for all of our clients in HubSpot's powerful, integrated tools. This tool allows us to create, track and easily change campaigns for all clients in a way that allows us show our worth.
  • Customer Service. I cannot praise this part of the company enough. If you ever have an issue with the product or don't know how to use a tool, they will go out of their way to help you fix it.
  • The HubSpot COS (Content Optimization System) is an incredibly powerful tool that can be used to create beautiful, dynamic website in that make it easy for non-coders to easily edit pages and content without the help of those strange coding geeks.
  • Research and Development. HubSpot is continuously finding new things to improve and integrate into their tools to help marketers better create and promote content to their potential buyers.
  • User Education. Through their blog, content offers (ebooks, webinars, etc.) and other educational elements, HubSpot is always working to better educate their users on the newest trends and best marketing practices out there.
  • Reporting. The reporting tools leave a little to be desired when you want to dive deep into different things such as devices people are using to view your website and average time on pages. Thankfully, it looks like they're starting to work on building out more serious tools so hopefully this will change soon!
  • Automated Workflows. The current layout is not as easy to set up as other marketing automation systems and doesn't provide as many options when it comes to if/then scenarios and time-sensitive options.
HubSpot is best for people who have plans for implementing a fully integrated marketing campaign versus paying for one time services for static websites. Also, retail websites probably aren't best for the full allotment of tools, at least not in my experience.

Questions to ask:
-Do you have full marketing goals or plans for this tool? (versus just wanting something to post social stuff with)
-Do you have the time to spend digging into the tool and all of the different features and benefits you can receive from it?

HubSpot is the best thing that has happened to me. I started off using HubSpot's Marketing Grader tool (which I love). Then I completed the Inbound and Design Certifications and after that I started using HubSpot full-time. The products are all great. Sidekick is a great tool to use even for personal use (and it's FREE). But when you use Sidekick and the CRM system (also free)… it's just great.

I've been using Drupal, Joomla and WordPress for the past ten years and I didn't really like them. When I tried the HubSpot COS I was sold. It's so easy to use and beginner can build beautiful sites without any problems. The tool is quite new, so there are still some improvements that need to be done (and I'm sure they will get it soon). Personally I would like a search module that isn't Google's search (this isn't that big of a problem and most users don't event notice this). Also, translation plugins could be a big plus. And for the marketing side - there isn't much to say. Everything works great. Hands down it’s the best all-in-one platform there is.

At the inbound conference in September they released a bunch of great new features as well. The one I have used the most is "content staging" - basically you stage your whole website in a "sandbox mode" and when you are done you can publish some or all pages at once. Really useful if you are doing a website redesign.

The "one-click-SSL" is also a great feature I love. Anyone that has tried to get SSL for their website on another platform know what a hustle it is.

  • Customer service
  • Communities
  • Development
  • Keeps on growing & improving month after month
  • Non-Google search module in COS
  • Translation modules in COS
  • International shipping for the HubSpot swag
Personally, I think it can be implemented on whatever. Inbound can be applied to everything and same with the HubSpot tools. There are new integrations available the whole time.

I spend 99.9% of my day in HubSpot strategizing, executing and analyzing and I wouldn't have it any other way. The available resources are right there at your finger tips and they make the system easy to use. Implementation is straightforward and maintenance is even easier. HubSpot does a great job at creating a community of amazing talent. We aren't just users or clients, we are valuable assets who make the inbound methodology a success. Every single person I have had the pleasure of working with (support, account success, product development, event planning....) are all amazing and they make you want to be better at everything you do. Who wouldn't want to work with a company like that?
My recommendation...try it, what do you have to lose?
  • Engages Users. We are a community, not just a customer number.
  • Gives us the tools we need and want. We stay ahead of the curve.
  • Creates success. Our wins are their wins, so success is inevitable.
  • Ever-expanding (& evolving) product selection.
  • More integration with the Sales CRM to the Marketing side of the house.
  • More B2B functionality on the Marketing platform.
  • Deeper integration to Social Media platforms.
Are you going to dedicate the time and energy it takes to make your marketing go from great to amazing? If you can answer "YES!" to that, then you NEED HubSpot. They even help nudge you along the way in a mentoring kinda way that keeps you encouraged about the future and moving forward to see it become a reality.

We use HubSpot for two major areas:

1. Marketing
We use many of HubSpot's features in our inbound and outbound marketing efforts. This consists of using landing pages, keyword research and tracking, email campaigns/workflows, and social media publishing. HubSpot's features make it easy to complete many tasks all in one program, and easily track progress made.

2. Customer Success
We also use some of these features to segment customer lists and send relevant emails and offers to our existing customers to help them succeed with our products. The integrations we were able to set up between our customer platform and HubSpot have made it easy to keep track of how our customers are doing.

  • Educate customers and prospects. HubSpot's team excels at educating both about the product and about inbound marketing in general. I was able to quickly and easily get up-to-speed when I started using HubSpot by attending webinars and reading articles.
  • Adding features and updates that make life easier for customers. HubSpot adds new things weekly to their marketing system. All of these additions make it easier to accomplish what you need to get done. One example is the newer Workflow options. This addition removed many steps that I had previously gone through when setting up workflows.
  • A wish-list item for me is would be a social publishing integration with Pinterest. It's not a 'must' since the Pin It extension is easy, but it is one extra place I need to go when doing social marketing.
  • One other thing that takes extra work is the lack of integration with the HubSpot Campaigns with SalesForce campaigns. Currently we have to set up a campaign in each program, and give it the same name. Making sure you don't miss something from one to the other can take more time than expected.
HubSpot is a great tool for any company that is looking to educate and reach prospects in their target market with inbound marketing. If you have a company blog, or are looking to start one, HubSpot will take it to the next level by helping you with the next steps. CTAs, Landing Pages, and Drip Campaigns are all very important to building your list of leads who find you via your blog. HubSpot makes it easy to accomplish all of these and keep your list growing.

I use HubSpot in my day job (a financial services firm) and at home for freelance marketing purposes. In both installations, the websites are on WordPress and HubSpot is used for analytics, email marketing, social media, and landing pages. The business problem HubSpot solves for me is that it puts all of these assets in one place, so I don't need to employ dozens of separate tools.
  • Training: HubSpot has hands-down the best training of any software I've used. They recently revamped their training programs with dozens of new videos and complementary resources. The ongoing live training and webinar series are also fantastic...I always learn something new. I've completed all of the certifications, except the COS Design.
  • Support: The support team is fast and friendly, available by phone, email and Twitter, and they always follow up to make sure you're satisfied. If there's a feature not currently available, they'll log it as an idea for future product enhancements.
  • Social Inbox: I love this tool. I use it in combination with HubSpot's Chrome extension, which saves me valuable time scheduling Twitter and LinkedIn updates.
  • Reporting: The new reporting add-on is very powerful, and gives me the ability to quickly create visual reports for my monthly meetings.
  • Inability to edit campaign names after they are created.
HubSpot is a commitment to continued learning and putting the inbound methodology into practice. I implemented HubSpot for a trading technology startup in 2013, and they decided not to renew because they said they "didn't get anything out of it." The fact is, they didn't use it enough and their marketing mindset was too outbound.

The marketing team at my organization uses HubSpot to gather leads for the sales team to follow up with by using inbound marketing techniques. The majority of our online content is created and stored on HubSpot. In addition, we use HubSpot as our main email platform. With the addition of their reporting dashboard, we can rely more on HubSpot for content performance data than previously (when we used Google Analytics).
  • Generating Leads through the use of forms and workflows.
  • Content creating - both for emails and landing pages.
  • Tech Support - the team is always more than helpful in answering our questions - from the most mundane, to helping us solve larger problems.
  • Social Media scheduling
  • Reporting on multiple KPIs (MQLs by Content Piece, e.g.)
  • Though it's possible for us to move our blog from WordPress to HubSpot, it seems that we'll be losing a lot of linked images.
  • It's hard to track the data of multiple landing pages or emails and comparing them. The ability to look more closely at the data is limited.
HubSpot can solve so many needs. Do you need help tracking what CTAs get clicked? HubSpot can help. Do you need an alternative to MailChimp? You got it. Need a more user-friendly CMS alternative to WordPress? HubSpot can do most of that work for you. If you're worried about not understanding some of their functionalities and features, they have the best customer service and always get back to you very quickly with a detailed response.

However, if you're looking for in-depth analytics, or something that can look for trends in a data-set, HubSpot might not fulfill all those needs.

We began using HubSpot in our sales and marketing. As we developed our skill set in the tool, we began to resell it to our clients and offer inbound consulting. Now, the whole organization is in the process of getting certified and will be using the tool for our clients. For us, HubSpot optimizes our marketing efforts while seamlessly integrating with our sales.
  • When you buy HubSpot, you don't just get the software. You get a team of experts that are there to help and consult with you to ensure that you get the best results possible.
  • Extensive training on the tool ensures that you know how to use everything HubSpot has to offer.
  • It has altered everything we do and we saw results immediately across departments.
  • Salesforce integration is great in theory, but we haven't been able to get it working to the full potential.
  • Design templates are not as easy to use as competitors, but the tool does automatically produce templates to match your existing website.
  • There are a few bugs here and there that continuously stand in the way of our tracking. While it is not always 100% accurate, it is accurate enough to measure.
Do you have the time and drive to invest in making it work? If your answer is no, then inbound marketing probably won't work for you--or you need to surround yourself with individuals who do have the time and drive to push out relevant content consistently.

We use HubSpot across the organization for our marketing automation. It's integrated with our website, forms, we use the COS platform to host/manage our blog, and we use the contacts database to manage and run our email marketing campaigns and all corporate communications.
  • Easy to use
  • Great customer support
  • Reasonably competitive pricing compared to other providers
  • They do "all in one" really well making it easy for the end marketing user
  • Don't charge for smaller add-ons that really could be part of the package that long term customers have been subscribed to (i.e. reporting module add-on, website management add-on, etc.)
Especially for smaller to mid sized organizations that do more with less, HubSpot is a great solution to help marketing do its job and extend the impact of all efforts across the board. Scalability is a good question to ask when evaluating providers, to know who can best support your needs long-term.

We use HubSpot for everything from marketing automation to hosting our website. Specifically, we use the blog, landing pages, website, gated content, social monitoring, and email marketing tools. We integrate HubSpot with Salesforce. HubSpot is primarily used by Marketing, Marketing Ops, and Sales Ops. HubSpot allows us to create marketing optimized webpages, email customers and prospects, engage with followers on social media, and drive leads for our sales team.
  • Easy to update and publish blog posts and webpages.
  • Excellent content and learning materials.
  • Great customer support.
  • New updates to the platform have been slightly unstable.
  • Limited options for email marketing automation compared to Eloqua and Marketo.
  • Content calendar isn't very robust.
It works well if you want one platform to handle marketing automation and your website. Now that that HubSpot has their own CRM, you could potentially use it for marketing automation, website, and CRM. It is relatively easy to learn and has lots of educational material. HubSpot is probably best suited for smaller marketing teams that don't have the resources to manage too many different systems and want to have an all-in-one marketing platform.

We use Hubspot as the system of record for marketing. This includes keeping marketing data on relevant prospects (and synced up with SFDC), email marketing, email automation, and a bit of web behavior monitor.
  • HubSpot has a great intuitive interface.
  • Building lists, finding contacts, and exporting data is really easy.
  • Basics around data automation, email automation are quick to set up.
  • The software feels high quality: No bugs, looks good, has UX in mind.
  • Strong support from their support line and account manager.
  • Salesforce sync is slow and there's not much transparency there.
  • Some data features are lacking, such as formula fields.
  • HubSpot is great to use on a contact basis, but looking at data on a company basis feels like an afterthought.
In general, Hubspot does all the tasks I need in a marketing automation system AND provides a good experience in the software and through their amazing support team. Some functionality (SFDC sync, accounts, and formula fields) could be better thought out.

We use HubSpot primarily for all of our marketing efforts (emails, social media, landing pages, blogging, etc.) as well as for reporting. Our sales team has started to utilize the sales portion of HubSpot as well. It really helps with the creation and managing of email campaigns, which is very useful. I appreciate having one marketing tool that I can use for almost all of our marketing programs. My boss can log into HubSpot to see how programs are performing and access all the data and reporting that he needs.
  • Social Media Marketing: schedule your posts and it posts to all of your social channels at once and then it is all in one place to view interactions and clicks.
  • Blog - our entire blog is setup through HubSpot and linked to from our homepage. It's very easy to manage and sometimes better if you aren't familiar or don't want the bloggers accessing your WordPress dashboard.
  • Email Campaigns - Email Creation, segregating contacts for emails and then tracking their performance is all simple.
  • The blog was difficult to setup originally but Hubspot has an awesome team to help whenever needed. It's now functional and very low maintenance.
  • I wish the social media platform could also post to Instagram.
This tool is great for small businesses like ourselves. It is simple for one person or a few. I would ask how it helps move leads through the funnel and how it tracks the lead to customer process. I may ask how HubSpot can help manage and keep your contact lists organized and clean.

We are currently using Hubspot for Inbond Marketing and CRM. It is great to have the two tools integrated so closely.
  • Not only have I been impressed with the tool, I have also been thoroughly impressed with the customer service at Hubspot. My marketing consultant has provided excellent guidance and helped to get our marketing engine to the next level.
  • If there is ever an issue, the help desk has very quick turnaround
  • They update the product and provide the appropriate onboarding/training when that happens so software users don't miss a beat.
  • Adding an image to an email is difficult, the space where you click is very small, might need to look at the ux for that particular screen.
  • Email templates have been a tough spot for use, at times it seems to be the clunkiest part of the system.
  • Would love a podcast with best practices.
The tool has helped me simplify and organize our marketing efforts.

HubSpot is currently being used by the sales and marketing teams in our organization. It helps us keep up with our social followers, drive downloads of our app, and track leads that come from our marketing channels.
  • Customer service is exceptional. Any time I have an issue or question I am on the phone with someone within a few minutes, 24/7. They even follow up afterwards to make sure my issue has been resolved.
  • Easy to use. The simple interface of the dashboards and tools make it extremely easy for a new user to get the hang of the platform and start having success with it.
  • Reporting. The robust reporting features in HubSpot allow us to really drill down and find the information we want.
  • Some settings are not easy to find and I have to seek out articles for help and even call support sometimes.
  • When a landing page does not display the way you want it to it can be difficult for someone with little coding knowledge to fix the issues.
  • Wish that HubSpot gathered data on traffic and leads from specific social media posts.
Would not recommend for a business that is not active online. You can only take full advantage of the HubSpot tools if you are actively spending time and money to drive traffic to your website.

We currently use HubSpot to support a number of client email marketing and lead generation efforts, including our own agency marketing. I find that the HubSpot technology combined with their training and customer service is a win/win combination for any brand or agency side marketing department. With constant updates and developments, HubSpot is helping us fine tune our content marketing strategy by giving us deep user insights into content preferences, sales stages and ultimately what drives business. Highly recommended.
  • By attributing leads to certain channels and identifying their content consumption habits, it greatly helps us define our content calendar.
  • By having a lead scoring model as well as a detailed workflow structure, we can deliver relevant email messages to our contacts and move them through the sales stages.
  • I would love to have more access to exportable data. Dashboards are great, but having the actual data to play with in Excel would be exponentially more beneficial.
Most marketing automation tools offer the same functionality, some with greater depth than others in key areas. Overall, make 100% sure to understand the COST to you. Cost can be greatly effected by the number of contacts you either import or obtain, so make sure you are aware of this impact.

We utilize HubSpot both to market our business as well as to help us provide the same marketing services we do for ourselves for our customers as a HubSpot partner agency.
  • HubSpot is a great tool for providing an overall way to organize and track your marketing efforts across social media, organic search, email marketing, and more.
  • Their team is amazing. They have been awesome every step of the way as we trained and implemented inbound marketing for us and our clients.
  • The addition of the CRM component made it even more awesome. Now we can track and manage the leads the marketing is generating.
  • I wish the workflow tool made it easier to print out a flow chart for my customers that want to see the whole flow.
  • I'd like to see better filtering in the CRM.
  • I'd also like to see notifications in the CRM. Right now, we don't get notified if we've been assigned to a lead, so we can miss following up with them.
Mostly it's just an issue of budget. They have to have at least $300/month to devote to just the software to really get started with it. On top of that, you need time or budget to implement inbound so you are getting your money's worth from the tool.

HubSpot is being used by our company to:

  • Identify potential opportunities
  • Generate new leads
  • Nurture current leads
  • Keep current customers in the loop
  • Collect and nurture potential job applicants
We check our dashboard first thing every day, and refer back to it several times a day, especially on days when our campaigns are particularly active.

We use almost all of the tools available to us:

  • Buyer persona creation
  • Keyword research
  • Analytics
  • SEO suggestions
  • Social Marketing review, scheduling, monitoring, responding
The Social Marketing tools have reduced the time it takes to schedule tweets, monitor who is talking about us, and overall engagement with our

Marketing Automation helps us with creating and maintaining all of our:

  • Calls to Action
  • Landing Pages
  • Forms
  • Lists
  • Campaigns
  • Workflows
The Reporting tools automatically keep track of what is working and what is not. We check the popularity of Blog posts, how often our core pages are being accessed, monitor how our keyword rankings are doing and much more. We could not be as productive as we are without the interconnectedness of the tools.

Additionally, we do all of the above and more for clients. We could not do what we do for them without HubSpot at the center of our activities. (We could, but it would cost them double or triple)!
  • HubSpot coordinates our marketing efforts across multiple channels.
  • The Dashboard is clear and concise. This is the daily (and intra-day) hub for us.
  • Several tools within HubSpot make it easy to see what is working and what is not in our marketing efforts.
  • Pricing is an issue with some of our clients.
  • Some tools require digging in to the training before being used effectively.
  • The mobile app is great, but needs more features.
I like to recommend HubSpot to companies that meet this minimum criteria:

  • Committed to growth
  • Willing to spend 15% of their budget on marketing
  • Are on target to reach over $1M annual revenue
  • Understand that building a foundation takes time
  • Patient to see results in 6-9 months
If companies are not committed to building a foundation, HubSpot may not be for them. If a company is not hungry to grow, they probably do not have the stamina required to build a successful Inbound Marketing campaign.

Hubspot is the tool that we use to organize and coordinate our entire sales and marketing department. Our website is built on the Hubspot COS, and we implement all the tools of the Professional version. We also use the Hubspot CRM and have that integrated with our emails and inbound marketing. This collaborative system allows us to have full insight on our potential new customers, tracking what they're interested in and when they're engaging with us. Our sales and marketing department is quickly growing, and Hubspot will allow us to scale and put together a collaborative system to allow us to share leads, and keep in communication as we want to. Not only does our website address customer questions and allow us to be viewed as an industry resource, it also allows us to tap into our customer base and build more of what they want to see.
  • Fully integrated tools allow you to take a holistic view of your potential customers. You can see when they came to your site, what they are interested in, when they return, what they're doing on social media and the pages that they visited. That way, sales can be much more effective.
  • Hubspot allows us to function with less sales people. For all the work we put in, Hubspot is working on the back end to multiply our efforts.
  • The CRM and Marketing tools tie effortlessly together. I love that I don't need to record anything and all of our emails and interactions are recorded effortlessly.
  • The CRM app is great, and allows me to find phone numbers, emails and make calls while I'm out on the road.
  • I can't wait until the CRM includes the ability to record both incoming and outgoing emails from Gmail, a functionality I understand is coming soon.
  • Because the COS is updating so quickly, I have struggled with some design elements being unchangable. This isn't an issue for new customers coming on because they have updated coding from a year ago, but it has been something I've had to address.
  • Simple design features are easy to change (like changing text or pictures) but any more complicated design changes do take some COS and HubL knowledge.
For a one person small business, I can understand why Hubspot would be a bit unnecessary in the beginning stages. It brings in a lot of additional leads, and you need to be prepared to scale your business if you start growing too fast. For example, if you've never had a website before and you're just starting a part time business, I can see that Hubspot would be too much of an investment and might not be worthwhile.

If you are, however, looking to grow your company quickly, Hubspot is an absolute requirement. Also, Hubspot is definitely geared towards the B2B sector, and does especially well in industries that are known for outdated marketing (like manufacturing).
