What is IBM Security Verify?

A centralized solution for managing customer and workforce identity and access including capabilities such as single-sign-on, multifactor authentication, adaptive AI-based access, passwordless access, and lifecycle and consent management.

IBM Security Verify is a single-stack cloud-based, on premises, or hybrid-cloud solution for allidentity and access needs listed above. Other advantages it presents are a way to integrate with legacy access and CRM applications, reverse proxies to help increase performance, reliability, and security, and a way to migrate from on-premises to cloud, not only from an application standpoint, but also in unifying directories.

If data residency is a top concern, when combined with AWS, the vendor states that IBM Security Verify has the broadest tenancy, and can be delivered using a rapid deployment model that has already been put to the test in several critical situations. IBM further states they continue to invest in achieving and maintaining all the pertinent certifications such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, and PCI DSS, plus full FedRAMP authorization in 2022.

IBM Security Verify is not just a solution IBM provides to clients for identity and access, but it is used it to establish a zero-trust posture for over 25 million of the company's own internal and external end-users, supporting 5,000 applications, more than 600 federated client companies and their workforces, and over 150,000 authorization groups, plus Mac, iOS, Android, Windows, Linux, and Z (mainframe) operating systems, which they state includes one of the world’s largest Apple deployments, and one of the largest Linux deployments.

I would rather say that there are still a lot of challenges when we speak about availability in certain scenarios, however bottom line is that planning for high availability requirements from the very beginning of the implementation planning, is a prerequisite for a successful deployment and resource utilization.

For many years, IBM Security Verify has been an essential component of our and our clients' infrastructures as it adds an extra layer of authentication and authorization to mission-critical software. This program to aid with identity management and prevents unauthorized logins. I like how it associates a specific IP address with a user and blocks access if the two do not match.

We had only one outage since we implemented it and that also due to a misconfiguration on our side. But it was easily solved as we contacted the support. And since then we had no such problem.

IBM Security Verify was always reliable and available as well as customer service was always available when needed. We used the service across all 4 of our locations and multiple users and devices. The product was always available when needed or used and my only challenge was the cost for a smaller business.

Throughout the system testing we conducted, we never encountered an issue that wasn't easily solvable. We did find some of the documentation confusing at times, but we overcame this quickly with some speedy support assistance. Implementation into production was a lot smoother following the testing we conducted.

Personally, I have never had an issue with using, configuring or managing the product and the service has never not been available. The only errors experienced have been that of the end user. These have always been rectified through training.

I have been using product since many years and we can trust the product for its high availability.. even for the complicated issues we had very minimal outage. And the support we receive from the teams across has high knowledge on the product and fixes were shared quickly which always made sure the impact was very less.

We haven't seen any outages so far; the uptime seems to be quite solid, and it's backed by the IBM name, so it's quite trustworthy. A few bugs we encountered were quickly resolved by the team, and we haven't come across any major issues. The support team is great and very responsive.

I was not directly involved in deployment (I am a user), but I know that our IT needed a lot of support because the product is not completely self-based. A few things went wrong but were solved in the end, with the provider´s support. Maybe the product could be more friendly for deployment with better documentation for customers.

It is almost always available. they do updates at night, minimizing the effect of upgrades. It is always around, it is just old and maybe needs to start from scratch to get a better product for nowadays. It is almost always available during business hours when you need it. for 24/7 companies it may be more difficult to time the upgrades so that it does not affect your work.

We experienced a lot of issues during the upgrades we performed. Newer versions are likely to contain issues and we recommend waiting for the fix packs. Our production environment has been stable and received 0 on calls so far.
